Then Iacob lyfte vp his fete and wet toward the east countre.
2 ২ আর দেখ, তার কাছে ভেড়ার তিনটি পাল শুয়ে আছে; কারণ লোকে ভেড়ার পাল সকলকে সেই কুয়োর জল পান করাত; আর সেই কূপের মুখে একটা বড় পাথর ছিল।
And as he loked aboute behold there was a well in the feld and. iij. flockes of shepe laye therby (for at that well were the flockes watered) and there laye a great stone at the well mouth
3 ৩ সেই জায়গায় পাল সকল জড়ো করা হলে লোকে কুয়োর মুখ থেকে পাথরখানা সরিয়ে ভেড়াদের জল পান করাত, পরে আবার কুয়োর মুখে সঠিক জায়গায় সেই পাথর রাখত।
And the maner was to brynge the flockes thyther and to roull the stone fro the welles mouth and to water the shepe and to put the stone agayne vppon the wells mouth vnto his place.
And Iacob sayde vnto the: brethern whece be ye? and they sayde: of Haran ar we.
And he sayde vnto the: knowe ye Laban the sonne of Nahor. And they sayde: we knowe him.
And he sayde vnto the: is he in good health? And they sayde: he is in good health: and boholde his doughter Rahel cometh with ye shepe.
7 ৭ তখন তিনি বললেন, “দেখ, এখনও অনেক বেলা আছে; পশুপাল জড়ো করার দিন হয়নি; তোমরা মেষদেরকে জল পান করিয়ে আবার চরাতে নিয়ে যাও।”
And he sayde: lo it is yet a great whyle to nyghte nether is it tyme yt the catell shulde be gathered together: water the shepe and goo and fede the.
8 ৮ তারা বলল, “যতক্ষণ পাল সব জড়ো না হয়, ততক্ষণ আমরা তা করতে পারি না; পরে কুয়োর মুখ থেকে পাথর খানা সরান যায়; তখন আমরা ভেড়াদের জল পান করাই।”
And they sayde: we maye not vntill all ye flockes be brought together and the stone be roulled fro the wells mouth and so we water oure shepe.
9 ৯ যাকোব তাদের সঙ্গে এরকম কথাবার্তা বলছেন, এমন দিনের রাহেল নিজের বাবার মেষপাল নিয়ে উপস্থিত হলেন, কারণ তিনি ভেড়াপালিকা ছিলেন।
Whyle he yet talked with the Rahel came with hir fathers shepe for she kepte them.
10 ১০ তখন যাকোব নিজের মামা লাবনের মেয়ে রাহেলকে ও মামার ভেড়ার পালকে দেখামাত্র কাছে গিয়ে কুয়োর মুখ থেকে পাথরখানা সরিয়ে তাঁর মামা লাবনের ভেড়ার পালকে জল পান করালেন।
As soone As Iacob sawe Rahel the doughter of Laban his mothers brother and the shepe of Laban his mothers brother he went and rowled the stone fro the wells mouth and watered the shepe of Laba his mothers brother
And Iacob kyssed Rahel and lyfte vp his voyce and wepte:
12 ১২ আপনি যে তাঁর বাবার কুটুম্ব ও রিবিকার ছেলে, যাকোব রাহেলকে এই পরিচয় দিলে রাহেল দৌড়ে গিয়ে নিজের বাবাকে সংবাদ দিলেন।
and tolde her also yt he was hir fathers brother and Rebeccas sonne. The Rahel ranne and tolde hir father.
13 ১৩ তাতে লাবন তাঁর ভাগ্নে যাকোবের সংবাদ পেয়ে দৌড়ে তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেলেন, তাঁকে আলিঙ্গন ও চুম্বন করলেন ও নিজের বাড়িতে নিয়ে গেলেন; পরে তিনি লাবণকে বলা সমস্ত বৃত্তান্ত জানালেন।
When Laban herd tell of Iacob his sisters sonne he ranne agaynst him and embraced hi and kyssed him ad broughte him in to his house. And the Iacob told Laba all ye matter
14 ১৪ তাতে লাবন বললেন, “তুমি সত্যিই আমার হাড় ও আমার মাংস।” পরে যাকোব তাঁর বাড়িতে এক মাস বাস করলেন।
And the Laba sayde: well thou art my bone and my flesh. Abyde with me the space of a moneth.
15 ১৫ পরে লাবন যাকোবকে বললেন, “তুমি আত্মীয় বলে কি বিনা বেতনে আমার দাসের কাজ করবে? বল দেখি, কি বেতন নেবে?”
And afterward Laban sayd vnto Iacob: though thou be my brother shuldest thou therfore serue me for nought? tell me what shall thi wages be?
And Laban had. ij. doughters the eldest called Lea and the yongest Rahel.
Lea was tender eyed: But Rahel was bewtifull ad well fauored.
18 ১৮ আর যাকোব রাহেলকে ভালবাসতেন, এজন্য তিনি উত্তর করলেন, “আপনার ছোট মেয়ে রাহেলের জন্য আমি সাত বছর আপনার দাসের কাজ করব।”
And Iacob loued her well and sayde: I will serue the. vij. yere for Rahel thy yongest doughter.
And Laban answered: it is better yt I geue her the than to another man? byde therfore with me.
20 ২০ এই ভাবে যাকোব রাহেলের জন্য সাত বছর দাসের কাজ করলেন; রাহেলের প্রতি তাঁর ভালোবাসার জন্য এক এক বছর তাঁর কাছে এক এক দিন মনে হল।
And Iacob serued. vij. yeres for Rahel and they semed vnto him but a fewe dayes for the loue he had to her.
21 ২১ পরে যাকোব লাবণকে বললেন, “আমার নিয়মিত কাল সম্পূর্ণ হল, এখন আমার স্ত্রী আমাকে দিন, আমি তার কাছে যাব।”
And Iacob sayde vnto Laban geue me my wife that I maye lye with hir for the tyme appoynted me is come.
Than Laban bade all the men of that place and made a feast.
23 ২৩ আর সন্ধ্যাবেলায় তিনি নিজের মেয়ে লেয়াকে নিয়ে তাঁর কাছে এনে দিলেন, আর যাকোব তাঁর কাছে গেলেন।
And when eue was come he toke Lea his doughter and broughte her to him and he went in vnto her.
And Laban gaue vnto his doughter Lea Zilpha his mayde to be hir seruaunte.
25 ২৫ আর সকাল হলে, দেখ, তিনি লেয়া। তাতে যাকোব লাবনকে বললেন, “আপনি আমার সঙ্গে এ কি ব্যবহার করলেন? আমি কি রাহেলের জন্য আপনার দাসের কাজ করিনি? তবে কেন আমাকে প্রতারণা করলেন?”
And when the mornynge was come beholde it was Lea. Than sayde he to Laban: wherfore hast thou played thus with me? dyd not I serue the for Rahel wherfore than hast thou begyled me?
Laban answered: it is not the maner of this place to marke the yongest before the eldest.
27 ২৭ তুমি এর সপ্তাহ পূর্ণ কর; পরে আর সাত বছর আমার দাসের কাজ স্বীকার করবে, সেজন্য আমরা ওকেও তোমাকে দান করব।”
Passe out this weke and tha shall this also be geuen the for ye seruyce which thou shalt serue me yet. vij. yeres more.
28 ২৮ তাতে যাকোব সেই রকম করলেন, তাঁর সপ্তাহ পূর্ণ করলেন; পরে লাবন তাঁর সঙ্গে নিজের মেয়ে রাহেলের বিয়ে দিলেন।
And Iacob dyd eue so and passed out that weke and than he gaue hi Rahel his doughter to wyfe also.
And Laban gaue to Rahel his doughter Bilha his handmayde to be hir servaute.
30 ৩০ তাই তিনি রাহেলের কাছেও গেলেন এবং লেয়ার থেকে রাহেলকে বেশি ভালবাসলেন এবং আরও সাত বছর লাবনের কাছে দাসের কাজ করলেন।
So laye he by Rahel also and loued Rahel more than Lea and serued him yet. vij. yeres more.
When the LORde sawe that Lea was despised he made her frutefull: but Rahel was baren.
32 ৩২ আর লেয়া গর্ভবতী হয়ে ছেলের জন্ম দিলেন ও তার নাম রুবেন [ছেলেকে দেখ] রাখলেন; কারণ তিনি বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু আমার দুঃখ দেখেছেন; এখন আমার স্বামী আমাকে ভালবাসবেন।”
And Lea conceaued and bare a sonne ad called his name Rube for she sayde: the LORde hath loked apon my tribulation. And now my husbonde will loue me.
33 ৩৩ পরে তিনি আবার গর্ভবতী হয়ে ছেলের জন্ম দিয়ে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু শুনেছেন যে, আমি ঘৃণার পাত্রী, তাই আমাকে এই ছেলেও দিলেন;” আর তার নাম শিমিয়ন [শ্রবন] রাখলেন।
And she conceaued agayne and bare a sonne and sayde: the LORde hath herde that I am despised ad hath therfore geuen me this sonne also and she called him Simeon.
34 ৩৪ আবার তিনি গর্ভবতী হয়ে ছেলের জন্ম দিয়ে বললেন, “এ বার আমার স্বামী আমাতে আসক্ত হবেন, কারণ আমি তাঁর জন্য তিন ছেলের জন্ম দিয়েছি;” অতএব তার নাম, লেবি [আসক্ত] রাখা গেল।
And she conceaued yet and bare a sonne ad sayde: now this once will my husbonde kepe me company because I haue borne him. iij. sonnes: and therfore she called his name Levi.
35 ৩৫ পরে আবার তাঁর গর্ভ হলে তিনি ছেলের জন্ম দিয়ে বললেন, “এ বার আমি সদাপ্রভুর স্তব গান করি;” অতএব তিনি তার নাম যিহূদা [স্তব] রাখলেন। তারপরে তাঁর গর্ভ বন্ধ হল।
And she conceaued yet agayne and bare a sonne saynge? Now will I prayse the LORde: therfore she called his name Iuda and left bearynge.
