< Job 30 >

1 Toe vaihi loe kai pongah saning kanawk kaminawk mah ang pahnui o thuih, nihcae ampanawk loe ka panuet moe, tuutoep uinawk hoi nawnto suek han mataeng doeh ka koeh ai.
But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.
2 Ue, nihcae ban thacakhaih loe kai han tidoeh avanghaih om ai, nihcae thacakhaih loe anghmat boih boeh.
Yea, whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old age was perished?
3 Nihcae loe zok amthlam o pongah, minawk hoi angkom o ai; kami om ai angqai krang praezaek ah ni amhet o.
For lack and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.
4 Kapring thungah phrohnawk to a aah o moe, caak hanah imphok kung tangzun to takaeh o.
Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their food.
5 Nihcae loe kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen hoiah haek o moe, (kamqu hangh thuih baktih hangh o thuih; )
They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief; )
6 tahawt thung ih cathaeng khaw thungah oh o moe, longkhaw thung hoi lungsong khaw thungah a oh o.
To dwell in the cliffs of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.
7 Kapring thungah hrang baktiah hangh o moe, soekhring thungah nawnto amkhueng o.
Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.
8 Nihcae loe kamthu caa ah oh o, ue, khosak kasae kaminawk ih caa ah oh o moe, prae thung hoi haek ih kaminawk ah oh o.
They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.
9 Vaihi loe nihcae mah laa ang sak o thuih; ue, nihcae mah kasae thuih ih kami ah ka oh boeh.
And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword.
10 Nihcae mah ang panuet o moe, kangthla ah ang oh o taak; ka mikhmai tamtui hoi pathoih hanah tongaah o ai.
They detest me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.
Because he has loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.
12 Ka bantang bangah thendoengnawk angthawk o moe, ka khok hae ang cawh o; kai amrohaih loklam to a sak o.
Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.
13 Ka loklam to phraek o moe, kai amtimh hanah azom o; nihcae bomhkung mi doeh om ai.
They ruin my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper.
14 Nihcae loe kalen pui akhaw thungah kakun tui baktiah, kai amrosak hanah tha hoi kai khaeah ang cawnh o.
They came upon me as a wide breaking in of waters: in the desolation they rolled themselves upon me.
15 Zitthok hmuennawk to ka nuiah phak moe, takhi song baktiah ka hinghaih hnukah patom o; ka tawnh ih hmuenmae loe tamai baktiah anghmat boeh.
Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passes away as a cloud.
And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me.
17 Aqum mah ka huh hae thunh moe, thaqui kana ka pauep thai ai boeh.
My bones are pierced in me in the night season: and my sinews take no rest.
18 Ka nathaih nung parai pongah, kaimah ih khubuen mah zaeng ih baktih toengah, ang zaeng caeng.
By the great force of my disease is my garment changed: it binds me about as the collar of my coat.
He has cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.
I cry unto you, and you do not hear me: I stand up, and you regard me not.
You are become cruel to me: with your strong hand you oppose yourself against me.
You lift me up to the wind; you cause me to ride upon it, and dissolve my substance.
For I know that you will bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.
24 Sithaw mah amrohaih phaksak hanah ban phok naah, nihcae mah tahmenhaih hni o langla cadoeh, atho om ai boeh.
Nevertheless he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.
25 Raihaih tongh kami to ka qah haih ai maw? Amtang kami palung ka sae haih ai maw?
Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor?
26 Kahoih hmuen ka zing naah, kasae hmuen to angzoh; aanghaih ka zing naah, vinghaih to angzoh.
When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.
27 Kai ih pathin loe bet moe, anghakhaih om ai; patangkhanghaih aninawk loe kai tongh hanah angzoh o.
My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.
28 Niduem naah palungsethaih hoiah ka oh; kaminawk amkhuenghaih ahmuen ah kang doet moe, ka hang.
I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation.
29 Kai loe pahui puinawk ih nawkamya ah ka oh moe, bukbuhnawk ih ampui ah ka oh.
I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.
30 Ka nganhin loe amnum moe, ka huhnawk doeh kabae thuih pa ai boeh.
My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.
31 Kai ih katoeng loe palungsethaih ah angcoeng boeh, kai ih tamoi doeh qahhaih lok ah ni angcoeng ving boeh.
My harp also is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep.
