< Luka 9 >

1 Anih loe a hnukbang hatlai hnettonawk nawnto kawk moe, taqawk haek thaihaih hoi nganna kaminawk ngantuisak thaihaih to paek.
Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
2 Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae tamthanglok kahoih to taphong moe, nganna kaminawk ngantuisak hanah nihcae to patoeh.
And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
3 Nihcae khaeah, Kholong na caeh o naah tidoeh sin o hmah, cunghet, pasah, takaw, tangka hoi kalen laihaw hnetto sin o hmah.
And he said unto them, Take nothing for [your] journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
4 To avang hoi tacawt ai karoek to, na kun o ih im ah om o poe ah.
And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
5 Nangcae toemsak ai kami loe, to avang thung hoiah na tacawt o naah, nihcae acoe paekhaih panoeksak hanah, na khok pong ih maiphu to takhoek oh, tiah a naa.
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
6 Nihcae loe amsak o moe, avang maeto pacoeng maeto ah caeh o, tamthanglok hoih to taphong o moe, ahmuen kruekah ngantui o sak.
And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
7 Anih mah sak ih hmuennawk boih prae ahap ukkung Herod mah thaih: thoemto kaminawk mah Johan angthawk let boeh, tiah thuih o pongah, anih loe poek anghmang sut.
Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;
8 Thoemto kaminawk mah loe Elijah angphong boeh, tiah thuih o; kalah kaminawk mah loe canghnii ih tahmaanawk thung ih tahmaa maeto angthawk let boeh, tiah thuih o.
And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.
9 Herod mah Johan ih lu to ka takroek pat boeh: toe vaihi ka thaih ih tamthang loe mi bae maw? tiah thuih. To pongah to kami to hnuk hanah a koeh.
And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
10 Patoeh ih kaminawk amlaem o let naah loe, a sak o ih hmuennawk boih anih khaeah thuih pae o. Anih mah nihcae to kawk moe, Bethsaida, tiah kawk ih avang hoi kanghnai kamding rue praezaek ah a caeh haih duem.
And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
11 Toe kaminawk mah panoek o naah, anih hnuk ah patom o: anih mah to kaminawk to kawnh moe, Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae tamthanglok to a thuih pae, ngantui han angaih kaminawk doeh ngantuisak.
And the people, when they knew [it], followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
12 Niduem naah loe hatlai hnettonawk anih khaeah angzoh o moe, anih khaeah, Kaminawk hae caehsak lai ah, vangpui hoi a taeng kaom ahmuennawk ah a caeh o moe, caaknaek hoi ohhaih ahmuennawk pakrong o han oh boeh: aicae loe praezaek ah ni a oh o, tiah a naa o.
And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
14 Nihcae loe kami sang pangato phak duih. Anih mah a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah, abu maeto naah kami quipangato anghnutsak hanah a thuih pae.
For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
15 A thuih ih lok baktih toengah a sak o, kaminawk to anghnut o sak boih.
And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16 Anih mah takaw kae pangato hoi tanga hnetto lak moe, van bangah doeng tahang, tahamhoihhaih paek pacoengah, a aeh, pop parai kaminawk hmaa ah patoem pae hanah hnukbang kaminawk khaeah a paek.
Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17 Nihcae loe caak o moe, zok amhah o boih: caaknoi to phrom o naah benthang hatlai hnetto koi.
And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
18 Nito naah anih loe angmah bueng lawkthuih, a hnukbang kaminawk loe anih hoi nawnto oh o: anih mah nihcae khaeah, Kaminawk mah kai hae kawbangmaw thuih o? tiah a dueng.
And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
19 Nihcae mah, thoemto kaminawk mah nang loe tuinuem paekkung Johan, tiah thuih o; thoemto kaminawk mah loe Elijah, tiah thuih o moe, kalah kaminawk bae mah loe canghnii ih tahmaanawk thungah kaom tahmaa maeto angthawk let boeh, tiah thuih o, tiah a naa o.
They answering said, John the Baptist; but some [say], Elias; and others [say], that one of the old prophets is risen again.
20 Nangcae mah loe kai hae kawbangah maw na poek o? tiah a dueng. Piter mah, Nang loe Sithaw ih Kri, tiah a naa.
He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
21 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, To kawng to mi khaeah doeh thui o hmah, tiah a naa.
And he straitly charged them, and commanded [them] to tell no man that thing;
22 Kami Capa loe paroeai patangkhang tih, kacoehtanawk, kalen koek qaima hoi ca tarik kaminawk mah pahnawt o tih, hum o ueloe, ni thumto naah angthawk let tih.
Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
23 Anih mah nihcae khae boih ah, Mi kawbaktih doeh ka hnukah bang koeh kami loe, angmah hoi angmah to amhnawt nasoe, nithokkruek angmah ih thinglam to apu nasoe loe, ka hnukah bang nasoe.
And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 Mi kawbaktih doeh a hinghaih pahlong koeh kami loe, a hinghaih to pathlong tih, toe mi kawbaktih doeh kai pongah a hinghaih pathlong kami loe, a hinghaih to pahlong tih.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
25 Kami maeto mah long pum tawn langlacadoeh, a hinghaih pathlong ving maw, to tih ai boeh loe va ving nahaeloe, atho timaw om tih?
For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
26 Mi kawbaktih doeh kai hoi ka loknawk azat haih kami loe, Kami Capa mah a lensawkhaih, ampa lensawkhaih hoiah van kaminawk hoi nawnto angzoh naah anih to azat haih toeng tih.
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and [in his] Father’s, and of the holy angels.
27 Toe loktang kang thuih o, haeah angdoe thoemto kaminawk thungah, Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah ukhaih prae hnu ai karoek to duekhaih pataeng han ai kami to oh, tiah a naa.
But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
28 Hae loknawk thuih pacoeng ni tazetto naah loe, anih mah, Piter, Johan hoi Jakob to kawk moe, lawkthuih hanah mae nuiah caeh haih.
And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 Anih lawkthuih naah, anih ih krang to amkhraih pae, anih ih kahni loe kanglung ni aengh baktiah ampha.
And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment [was] white [and] glistering.
30 Khenah, kami hnetto, Mosi hoi Elijah loe anih hoiah lok apaeh hoi:
And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
31 nihnik loe lensawkhaih hoiah amtueng hoi moe, anih duekhaih rang hoiah Jerusalem ah akoep han ih hmuen kawng to a thuih o.
Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
32 Toe Piter hoi a taengah kaom kaminawk loe iih mah muek caeng: angthawk o naah loe, anih lensawkhaih, anih hoi nawnto angdoe kami hnik to nihcae mah hnuk o.
But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
33 Nihnik mah Anih caeh hoi taak pacoengah, Piter mah Jesu khaeah, Angraeng, aicae loe hae ahmuen ah oh han hoih: a thuih ih lokhlong to panoek ai ah, buk thumto sah si; nang hanah maeto, Mosi hanah maeto, Elijah hanah maeto, tiah a naa.
And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34 Piter mah lokthuih li naah, tamai mah nihcae to khuk khoep: nihnik tamai thungah akun hoi boeh, tiah nihcae mah hnuk o naah, a zit o.
While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35 Tamai thung hoiah, Hae loe ka palung duek ih ka Capa ni: a lok to tahngai pae oh, tiah lok to angzoh.
And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
36 Lok dip pacoengah loe, angmah bueng kaom Jesu to a hnuk o. To ah kaom hmuen to nihcae mah palung thungah pakuem o, a hnuk o ih hmuennawk to mi khaeah doeh thui o ai.
And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
37 Khawnbang to phak moe, nihcae mae nui hoi anghum o tathuk naah loe, paroeai kaminawk mah anih to hnuk o.
And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.
38 Khenah, kami maeto mah kaminawk salak hoiah, Patukkung, maeto khue ka tawnh ih ka capa to na khen pae rae ah, tiah tahmenhaih hnik.
And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.
39 Khenah, anih loe taqawk sae mah naeh moe, poek ai pui hoiah a hangh; pakha thung hoiah tamtui tacawt, anih han nganbawh kana a paek, anih takoh thung hoiah tacawt han rai parai.
And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.
40 Na hnukbang kaminawk khaeah, Taqawk haek pae han tahmenhaih ka hnik boeh, toe nihcae mah haek o thai ai, tiah a naa.
And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.
41 Jesu mah, Aw tanghaih tawn ai, poek caak ai kaminawk, nasetto maw palungsawkhaih hoiah kang oh o thuih han vop? Na capa to haeah na hoi ah, tiah a naa.
And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.
42 Anih khaeah nawkta caeh o haih naah mataeng doeh, taqawk mah anih to long ah amtimsak moe, asawt sak. Jesu mah taqawk sae to zoeh moe, nawkta to ngantuisak pacoengah, ampa khaeah paek let.
And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare [him]. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.
43 Sithaw thacakhaih nuiah nihcae dawnrai o boih. Jesu mah sak ih hmuen pongah kaminawk boih dawnrai o, to naah anih mah a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah,
And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,
44 kang thuih o ih loknawk hae tahngai oh: kami Capa loe minawk ban ah paek o tih boeh, tiah a naa.
Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
45 Toe hae tiah a thuih ih lok to nihcae mah panoek pae o thai ai, nihcae han tamqulok ah oh pongah, panoek pae o thai ai: anih khaeah dueng han ih doeh zit o koek.
But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.
46 Nihcae thungah mi maw kalen koek ah om tih, tiah a hnukbang kaminawk salakah lok angaekhaih to oh.
Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.
47 Jesu mah nihcae poekhaih to panoek pae pongah, nawkta to a lak moe, a taengah anghnutsak,
And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
48 nihcae khaeah, Mi kawbaktih doeh hae nawkta hae ka hmin hoiah talawk kami loe, kai talawk kami ah ni oh: mi kawbaktih doeh kai talawk kami loe, kai patoehkung talawk kami ah oh: nangcae boih thung ih kathoeng koek to kalen koek ah om tih, tiah a naa.
And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
49 Johan mah, Angraeng, nang ih ahmin hoiah taqawk sae haek kami maeto ka hnuk o, anih loe aicae hnukbang kami na ai pongah, ka pakaa pae o, tiah a naa.
And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Anih to pakaa hmah: aicae ih misa ah kaom ai kami loe aicae ih kami ah ni oh, tiah a naa.
And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us.
51 Van bangah lak tahanghaih atue phak naah loe, Jerusalem ah caeh han poekhaih to a tawnh,
And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
52 tamthang sin kaminawk to a hmaa ah patoeh: anih han hmuen sakpae o coek hanah, nihcae loe Samaria avang maeto thungah akun o.
And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
53 Jerusalem ah a caeh poe han oh pongah, to ah kaom kaminawk mah anih to talawk o ai.
And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
54 A hnukbang Jakob hoi Johan mah to tiah kaom hmuen to hnuk hoi naah, nihnik mah, Angraeng, Elijah mah sak ih baktih toengah, nihcae to amrosak hanah, van hoiah hmai to kawk si maw? tiah a naa hoi.
And when his disciples James and John saw [this], they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
55 Toe anih mah nihnik to angqoi thuih moe, nihnik to zoeh, Kawbaktih poekhaih maw na tawnh hoi, tito na panoek hoi ai.
But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
56 Kami Capa loe kaminawk ih hinghaih tahmat hanah angzo ai, nihcae hinghaih pahlong han ih ni angzoh, tiah a naa. To pacoengah kalah avang bangah a caeh o.
For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save [them]. And they went to another village.
57 Loklam ah a caeh o naah, kami maeto mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, na caehhaih ahmuen kruekah kang bang han, tiah a naa.
And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain [man] said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
58 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Tasuinawk loe akhaw tawn o, van ih tavaanawk doeh tabu tawnh o; toe kami Capa loe lu koenghaih ahmuen mataeng doeh tawn ai, tiah a naa.
And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.
59 To pacoengah Anih mah kalah kami khaeah, Ka hnukah bangah, tiah a naa. Toe to kami mah, Angraeng, kam pa to aphum hmaloe rae ue, tiah a naa.
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
60 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kadueh kami mah angmacae ih kadueh qok to aphum o nasoe: toe nang loe caeh ah loe, Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae kawng to thui ah, tiah a naa.
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
61 Kalah kami mah doeh, Angraeng, na hnukah ka bang han; toe kaimah im ah caeh moe, imthung takohnawk khaeah ka thaisak hmaloe han vop, tiah a naa.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
62 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Mi kawbaktih doeh laikok atok hanah amtong pacoengah, hnuk bangah angqoi kami loe, Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae hoiah ating ai, tiah a naa.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
