Then He called to Him His twelve disciples and gave them authority over foul spirits, to drive them out; and to cure every kind of disease and infirmity.

These twelve Jesus sent on a mission, after giving them their instructions: "Go not," He said, "among the Gentiles, and enter no Samaritan town;

Cure the sick, raise the dead to life, cleanse lepers, drive out demons: you have received without payment, give without payment.
9 Phoisa tabu thungah sui, sum kanglung hoi sum kamling phoisa to sin o hmah,
"Provide no gold, nor even silver nor copper to carry in your pockets;
10 kholong na caeh o naah pasah, khukbuen hnetto, khokpanai hoi cunghet doeh sin o hmah: toksahkung loe a tok sakhaih atho to hnuk han krak.
no bag for your journey, nor change of linen, nor shoes, nor stick; for the labourer deserves his food.
11 Vangpui ah maw, to tih ai boeh loe vangta ah maw, na kun o naah, na toemh o han koi im to pakrong oh; to ahmuen hoi na hloi o ai karoek to to im ah om o poe ah.
"Whatever town or village you enter, inquire for some good man; and make his house your home till you leave the place.
12 Im maeto thungah na kun o naah, lok tapring oh.
When you enter the house, salute it;
13 To im ah oh han amcuk nahaeloe, na monghaih a nuiah om nasoe: toe amcuk ai nahaeloe, na monghaih to nangmah khaeah amlaem let nasoe.
and if the house deserves it, the peace you invoke shall come upon it. If not, your peace shall return to you.
14 Mi kawbaktih doeh nang toemsak ai, na lok doeh tahngai ai nahaeloe, to im hoiah maw, to tih ai boeh loe to vangpui hoiah maw na tacawt o naah, na khok pong ih maiphu to takhoek oh.
And whoever refuses to receive you or even to listen to your Message, as you leave that house or town, shake off the very dust from your feet.
15 Loktang kang thuih o, lokcaekhaih niah to vangpui loe Sodom hoi Gomorrah vangpui pongah nung kue tih.
I solemnly tell you that it will be more endurable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of Judgement than for that town.
16 Khenah, tasuinawk salak ih tuu baktiah ni kang patoeh o: to pongah pahui baktiah palungha oh loe, pahuu baktiah acoe oh.
"Remember it is I who am sending you out, as sheep into the midst of wolves; prove yourselves as sagacious as serpents, and as innocent as doves.
17 Kaminawk khae hoiah acoe oh: to tih ai nahaeloe lokcaekhaih im ah na caeh o haih ueloe, angmacae ih Sineko ah na bop o moeng tih.
But beware of men; for they will deliver you up to appear before Sanhedrins, and will flog you in their synagogues;
18 Kai pongah nihcae hoi Gentel kaminawk khaeah hnukung ah na oh o hanah, prae ukkungnawk hoi siangpahrangnawk khaeah na caeh o haih tih.
and you will even be put on trial before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles.
19 Toe ang naeh o naah, nangcae mah kawbangmaw ka thuih o han, timaw ka thuih o han, tiah poek o hmah: to na atue thuem roe ah, na thuih o han ih lok to na paek tih.
But when they have delivered you up, have no anxiety as to how you shall speak or what you shall say; for at that very time it shall be given you what to say;
20 Lokthuikung loe nangcae na ai ni, nangcae Ampa ih Muithla mah ni nangcae thungah lok to thuih.
for it is not you who will speak: it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21 Nawkamya mah nawkamya, ampa mah a caa to paduek hanah paek tih: a caanawk mah amno hoi ampa to misa ah suem ueloe, nihcae to paduek hanah sah o tih.
Brother will betray brother to death, and father, child; and children will rise against their own parents and will put them to death.
22 Kai pongah kaminawk boih mah na hnukma o tih: toe boeng khoek to pauep kami loe pahlonghaih to hnu tih.
And you will be objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name; but he who holds out to the End--he will be saved.
23 Ahmuen maeto ah na pacaekthlaek o nahaeloe, kalah ahmuen bangah caeh o taak ah: loktang kang thuih o, Kami Capa angzo ai karoek to Israel ih vangpuinawk to nam kae o boih mak ai.
Whenever they persecute you in one town, escape to the next; for I solemnly tell you that you will not have gone the round of all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
24 Ca amtuk kami loe patukkung ranui ah om ai, tamna doeh angmah ih angraeng ranui ah om ai.
"The learner is never superior to his teacher, and the servant is never superior to his master.
25 Ca amtuk kami to patukkung baktiah oh moe, tamna doeh angraeng baktiah oh boeh loe khawt boeh. Im tawnkung to Beelzabub, tiah kawk o nahaeloe, anih imthung takoh ih kaminawk cae loe kawkruk maw kawk o tih?
Enough for the learner to be on a level with his teacher, and for the servant to be on a level with his master. If they have called the master of the house Baal-zebul, how much more will they slander his servants?
26 To pongah nihcae to zii o hmah: amtueng thai han ai ah kraeng ih hmuen tidoeh om ai; panoek thai han ai ah, hawk ih hmuen tidoeh om mak ai.
Fear them not, however; there is nothing veiled which will not be uncovered, nor secret which will not become known.

What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what is whispered into your ear, proclaim upon the roofs of the houses.
28 Takpum paduek thaih, hinghaih pakhra paduek thai ai kaminawk to zii o hmah: toe hinghaih pakhra hoi takpum hell thungah paduek thaih hmaek kami to zii oh. (Geenna g1067)
"And do not fear those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
29 Paritca hnetto loe phoisa dip maeto hoiah zawh o na ai maw? Toe van ah kaom nangcae Ampa koehhaih baktih ai ah loe maeto doeh long ah krah mak ai.
Do not two sparrows sell for a halfpenny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave.
30 Nangcae lu nui ih sam mataeng doeh kroek boih ah oh.
But as for you, the very hairs on your heads are all numbered.
31 To pongah zii o hmah, nangcae loe paritcanawk pongah atho na oh o kue.
Away then with fear; you are more precious than a multitude of sparrows.
32 To pongah mi kawbaktih doeh kaminawk hmaa ah kai angdoe haih kami loe, van ah kaom kam Pa hmaa ah anih to kang doet haih toeng han.
"Every man who acknowledges me before men I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in Heaven.
33 Toe mi kawbaktih doeh kaminawk hmaa ah kai pahnawt kami loe, van ah kaom kam Pa hmaa ah anih to ka pahnawt toeng han.
But whoever disowns me before men I also will disown before my Father who is in Heaven.
34 Kai loe angdaehhaih sin han ih ni long ah kang zoh, tiah poek o hmah: angdaehhaih sin hanah kang zo ai, sumsen sin han ih ni kang zoh.
"Do not suppose that I came to bring peace to the earth: I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
35 Kai pongah kami mah ampa to misa ah suem tih, canu mah amno to misa ah suem ueloe, langah mah angmah ih amni to misa ah suem tih,
For I came to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36 a imthung ih kami a misa ah ohsak han ih ni kang zoh, tiah a naa.
and a man's own family will be his foes.
37 Kai pongah amno maw, ampa maw, palung kue kami loe kai ih kami ah oh han amcuk ai; a canu maw, a capa maw, kai pongah palung kue kami loe kai ih kami ah oh han amcuk ai.
Any one who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and any one who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 Angmah ih thinglam to aput moe, ka hnukah bang ai kami loe, kai ih kami ah oh han amcuk ai.
and any one who does not take up his cross and follow where I lead is not worthy of me.
39 A hinghaih pakrong kami loe, pathlong ving tih: kai pongah a hinghaih pathlong ving kami loe hinghaih to hnu tih.
To save your life is to lose it, and to lose your life for my sake is to save it.
40 Nangcae talawk kami loe kai talawk kami ah oh, kai talawk kami loe kai patoehkung talawk kami ah oh.
"Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me.
41 Tahmaa ih ahmin hoiah tahmaa talawk kami loe, tahmaa ih tangqum to hnu tih; katoeng kami ih ahmin hoiah katoeng kami talawk kami loe, katoeng kami ih tangqum to hnu tih.
Every one who receives a prophet, because he is a prophet, will receive a prophet's reward, and every one who receives a righteous man, because he is a righteous man, will receive a righteous man's reward.
42 Mi kawbaktih doeh tetta hae kaminawk thung ih maeto khaeah, hnukbang kami maeto ih ahmin hoiah tui angqai boengloeng maeto paek kami loe, loktang kang thuih o, angmah ih tangqum to sung mak ai, tiah a naa.
And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, I solemnly tell you that he will not lose his reward."
