< Nahum 2 >

1 Ang amrosak kami na hma ah angzoh boeh: misa pakaahaih ahmuen to kahoih ah toep ah, loklam to kahoih ah khen ah, na kaengkaeh to caksak ah loe, na thacakhaih to pathok boih ah.
He who dashes in pieces has come up against you. Keep the fortress! Watch the way! Strengthen your waist! Fortify your power mightily!
2 Angraeng mah Jakob lensawkhaih to Israel lensawkhaih baktiah omsak let tih: paro kaminawk mah nihcae to tidoeh anghmat ai ah paro o, nihcae ih misur tanghangnawk to atlik pae o.
For the LORD restores the excellency of Jacob as the excellency of Israel, for the destroyers have destroyed them and ruined their vine branches.
3 Anih ih thacak misanawk loe kathim misa angvaenghaih to sinh o, misahoih kaminawk loe kathim khukbuen to angkhuk o: misatuk han amsak na niah, hrang lakoknawk loe kangqong hmai baktiah oh, far thing hoi sak ih tayaenawk loe zitthoh parai.
The shield of his mighty men is made red. The valiant men are in scarlet. The chariots flash with steel in the day of his preparation, and the pine spears are brandished.
4 Nihcae ih hrang lakoknawk loe atuen apawk hoiah loklam ah, lampui maeto pacoeng maeto cawnh o; nihcae loe hmaithaw baktiah oh o moe, tangphrapuek baktiah cawnh o.
The chariots rage in the streets. They rush back and forth in the wide ways. Their appearance is like torches. They run like the lightnings.
5 Anih loe kahoih misatuh angraeng to a tawnh, toe nihcae loe loklam ah amtim o boih tih; to ah kaom tapang bangah karangah cawnh o ueloe, misa buephaih to sah o tih.
He summons his picked troops. They stumble on their way. They dash to its wall, and the protective shield is put in place.
6 Tuipui khongkhanawk to paong o tih, to naah siangpahrang ohhaih ahmuen to anghma tih.
The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace is dissolved.
7 Huzzab to misong ah naeh o ueloe, caeh o haih tih; tamna nongpatanawk loe angmacae ih saoek atumh hoiah caeh o ueloe, anih to pahu baktiah oi o haih tih.
It is decreed: she is uncovered, she is carried away; and her servants moan as with the voice of doves, beating on their breasts.
8 Nineveh loe canghnii ih kangbuem tuili baktiah ni oh, toe tui amsah pae king boeh. Anghak rae ah, anghak rae ah, tiah a hangh o, toe mi doeh hnukbang angqoi o ai.
But Nineveh has been from of old like a pool of water, yet they flee away. “Stop! Stop!” they cry, but no one looks back.
9 Sum kanglung to la oh, suinawk doeh la oh; patung ih hmuenmaenawk hoi khit kaom tacongnawk loe boeng thaih mak ai, tiah a hangh o.
Take the plunder of silver. Take the plunder of gold, for there is no end of treasure, an abundance of every precious thing.
10 Nineveh loe amro boeh, tidoeh om ai, caeh o taak sut boeh; kaminawk poekhaih palungthin loe tui baktiah amkaw boeh, khokhunawk doeh thazok boeh; kaeng to nat pae moe, mikhmai doeh amnum pae boih boeh.
She is empty, void, and waste. The heart melts, the knees knock together, their bodies and faces have grown pale.
11 Kaipui ohhaih ahmuen, a caanawk pacahhaih ahmuen loe naa ah maw oh, zithaih kaom ai ah nihcae amkaehhaih ahmuen, kaipui ampa hoi amno amkaehhaih ahmuen loe naa ah maw oh boeh?
Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion and the lioness walked with the lion’s cubs, and no one made them afraid?
12 Kaipui mah a caanawk hanah moi to sinh pae, kaipui amno kanawk hanah moi to kaek pae, a ohhaih akhaw loe a kaek ih moi hoiah koi, thlungkhaw to moi hoiah koisak.
The lion tore in pieces enough for his cubs, and strangled prey for his lionesses, and filled his caves with the kill and his dens with prey.
13 Khenah, nang to misa ah kang suek, nang ih hrang lakoknawk to hmai hoiah ka thlaek han, sumsen mah kaipui caanawk to paduek tih; long nuiah caak han ih moi tawn ai ah kang suek han, na laicaehnawk ih lok to mi mah doeh thaih let mak ai boeh.
“Behold, I am against you,” says the LORD of Hosts, “and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions; and I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers will no longer be heard.”
