< Zekariah 1 >

1 Darius siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hnetto haih, khrah tazetto naah, Iddo capa Berekiah, Berekiah capa Tahmaa Zekariah khaeah Angraeng ih lok to angzoh.
In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the LORD’s word came to the prophet Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,
2 Angraeng loe nam panawk nuiah paroeai palungphui.
“The LORD was very displeased with your fathers.
3 To pongah kaminawk khaeah thui paeh; misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih: kai khaeah amleam oh, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih: kai doeh nangcae khaeah kam laem let toeng han, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
Therefore tell them, the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Return to me,’ says the LORD of Hosts, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD of Hosts.
4 Nam panawk baktiah om o hmah; nihcae khaeah hmaloe ih tahmaanawk mah hae tiah thuih pae o; kasae sakhaih hoi kahoih ai loklam thung hoiah amlaem o let ah, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih, tiah a naa. Toe nihcae mah tahngai pae o ai moe, tidoeh sah pae o ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Don’t you be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: The LORD of Hosts says, ‘Return now from your evil ways and from your evil doings;’ but they didn’t hear nor listen to me, says the LORD.
5 Nam panawk loe vaihi naa ah maw oh o boeh? Tahmaanawk loe hing o poe maw?
Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
6 Nam panawk loe kaimah ih tamna tahmaanawk khaeah thuih ih ka loknawk hoi ka lok takroekhaihnawk to kae o boeh na ai maw? To naah nichae mah dawnpakhuem o, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng loe a sak han atim ih baktih toengah, ka caeh o ih loklam hoi ka sak o ih hmuen baktiah aicae nuiah lokcaek boeh, tiah thuih o.
But my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, didn’t they overtake your fathers? “Then they repented and said, ‘Just as the LORD of Hosts determined to do to us, according to our ways and according to our practices, so he has dealt with us.’”
7 Darius siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hnetto haih, khrah hathlaito Shebat khrah, ni pumpae palito naah, Iddo capa Berekaih, Berekaih capa tahmaa Zakariah khaeah, Angraeng ih lok to angzoh.
On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the LORD’s word came to the prophet Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,
8 Khoving ah hnuksakhaih maeto kai khaeah amtueng, to naah ka hma ah hrang kathim nuiah anghnu kami maeto ka hnuk! anih loe azawn ah kaom aqam kahing thingkung salakah angdoet: anih hnuk ah kathim, kamnum hoi kanglung hrangnawk to angdoet o.
“I had a vision in the night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and he stood amongst the myrtle trees that were in a ravine; and behind him there were red, brown, and white horses.
9 Kai mah, Ka Angraeng, haenawk loe tih aa? tiah ka naa. Kai khaeah lokthui van kami mah, Haenawk loe timaw, tito kang patuek han, tiah ang naa.
Then I asked, ‘My lord, what are these?’” The angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what these are.”
10 To naah aqam kahing thingkung salakah angdoe kami mah, Hae kaminawk loe long pum ah caeh hanah Angraeng mah patoeh ih kami ah oh o, tiah ang naa.
The man who stood amongst the myrtle trees answered, “They are the ones the LORD has sent to go back and forth through the earth.”
11 Nihcae mah aqam kahing thingkung salakah angdoe Angraeng ih van kami khaeah, Long pum ah ka caeh o, long pum loe monghaih hoiah khosak o, tiah a thuih pae o.
They reported to the LORD’s angel who stood amongst the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked back and forth through the earth, and behold, all the earth is at rest and in peace.”
12 To naahAngraeng ih van kami mah, Saning qui sarihto Jerusalem hoi Judah vangpui nuiah palung na phui boeh, nasetto maw palungnathaih tawn ai ah na oh thuih han vop? tiah a naa.
Then the LORD’s angel replied, “O LORD of Hosts, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?”
13 To pongah kai khae lokthui van kami khaeah Angraeng mah kazoi lok hoiah monghaih lok to a thuih pae.
The LORD answered the angel who talked with me with kind and comforting words.
14 To naah kai khaeah lokthui van kami mah, Hae lok hae taphong ah; misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae lok hae thuih: Jerusalem hoi Zion pakaa hanah paroeai tha ka pathok.
So the angel who talked with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘The LORD of Hosts says: “I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15 Toe anghngai duem prae kalah kaminawk nuiah loe palung ka phui parai: nihcae mah Jerusalem raihaih thap o aep pongah, palung ka phui, tiah a thuih.
I am very angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, but they added to the calamity.”
16 To pongah Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; palungnathaih hoiah Jerusalem ah kam laem let han. Kai ih im loe sak let ah om tih: Jerusalem to sak let hanah qui hoiah tah let tih, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
Therefore the LORD says: “I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy. My house shall be built in it,” says the LORD of Hosts, “and a line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’
17 Taphong let ah: misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih, Ka vangpuinawk loe angraeng o let tih, Angraeng mah Zion to pathloep let ueloe, Jerusalem doeh qoih ih vangpui ah om let tih, tiah a naa.
“Proclaim further, saying, ‘The LORD of Hosts says: “My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.”’”
18 Ka khet tahang naah, ka hma ah takii palito ka hnuk!
I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, four horns.
19 Kai khaeah lokthui van kami khaeah, Hae hmuennawk loe tih aa? tiah ka naa. Anih mah, Hae loe Judah, Israel, Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk anghaehsak phang acaeng kaminawk ni, tiah ang naa.
I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” He answered me, “These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”
20 To naah Angraeng mah bantok sah kop kami palitonawk to ang patuek.
The LORD showed me four craftsmen.
21 To pacoengah kai mah, Hae hmuennawk loe tih sak han ih aa? tiah ka naa. Anih mah, Hae kaminawk loe mi mah doeh lu doeng tahang thaih han ai ah Judah kaminawk anghaehsak phang takiinawk ni: toe nihcae mah zit o hanah bantok sah kop kaminawk to angzo o ueloe, Judah kami anghaehsak phang Gentel kaminawk ih takii to amrosak ving tih, tiah ang naa.
Then I asked, “What are these coming to do?” He said, “These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head; but these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
