1 Ya-oe kai aih he, khohal cangah bang maila, misurbit loh a yoep hnukah, a su aka om pawt bangla ka om. Thaihloe caak hamla ka hinglu loh a ngaidam.
My woe [is] to me, for I have been As gatherings of summer-fruit, As gleanings of harvest, There is no cluster to eat, The first-ripe fruit desired hath my soul.
2 Khohmuen lamkah hlangcim he milh coeng tih hlang lakli ah aka thuem khaw tal coeng. A pum la thii te a rhongngol thil uh tih hlang loh a manuca te yaehtaboeih la a mae uh.
Perished hath the kind out of the land, And upright among men — there are none, All of them for blood lie in wait, Each his brother they hunt [with] a net.
3 A kut rhoi tah boethae dongah lohnaa coeng. Mangpa loh lai sahnah ham a bih tih lai a tloek. A hinglu loh talnah thui hamla haam tih amah neh tingtong uh.
On the evil [are] both hands to do [it] well, The prince is asking — also the judge — for recompence, And the great — he is speaking the mischief of his soul, And they wrap it up.
4 Amih kah a then te hling banghui ni. Aka thuem khaw vonghling lakah nah. Khohnin he nang aka tawt tih nang aka ngoldoelh hamla pai coeng. Amih kah tingtongnah khaw om coeng.
Their best one [is] as a brier, The upright one — than a thorn-hedge, The day of thy watchmen — Thy visitation — hath come. Now is their perplexity.
5 Na hui te tangnah uh boel lamtah khoboei dongah khaw pangtung uh boeh. Na rhang dongkah aka yalh taengah khaw na ka thohka te tuem.
Believe not in a friend, trust not in a leader, From her who is lying in thy bosom keep the openings of thy mouth.
6 Capa loh a napa a hoo tih a canu loh a manu taengah, a langa loh a mani taengah tlai. Hlang loh a imkhui kah hlang rhoek te a thunkha nah.
For a son is dishonouring a father, A daughter hath stood against her mother, A daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, The enemies of each [are] the men of his house.
7 Tedae kai tah BOEIPA te ka dawn tih kamah kah khangnah Pathen te ka lamtawn dongah ka ol he ka Pathen loh a hnatun ni.
And I — in Jehovah I do watch, I do wait for the God of my salvation, Hear me doth my God.
8 Ka thunkha loh kai soah na kohoe boeh. Ka cungku cakhaw ka thoo pueng ni. Hmaisuep ah ka ngol cakhaw BOEIPA tah kai ham vangnah la om.
Thou dost not rejoice over me, O mine enemy, When I have fallen, I have risen, When I sit in darkness Jehovah is a light to me.
9 Amah taengah ka tholh coeng dongah BOEIPA kah thintoek he ka phueih mai bitni. Ka tuituknah a oelh tih ka tiktamnah a saii. Kai he vangnah khuila kai n'khuen vetih a duengnah te ka hmuh pueng ni.
The indignation of Jehovah I do bear, For I have sinned against Him, Till that He doth plead my cause, And hath executed my judgment, He doth bring me forth to the light, I look on His righteousness.
10 Kai taengah, “Na Pathen BOEIPA te melae?” aka ti ka thunkha rhoek loh a hmuh vaengah yah loh anih a thing bitni. Anih te ka mik loh a hmuh vaengah tol kah tangnong bangla cawtkoi ham om pawn ni.
And see doth mine enemy, And cover her doth shame, Who saith unto me, 'Where [is] Jehovah thy God?' Mine eyes do look on her, Now she is for a treading-place, As mire of the out-places.
11 Na vongtung thoh hamla khohnin pai vetih te khohnin ah tah khotlueh a suem ni.
The day to build thy walls! That day — removed is the limit.
12 Te khohnin vaengah tah Assyria neh Egypt khopuei lamkah khaw, Egypt neh tuiva, tuitunli lamkah khaw, tuitunli neh tlang, tlang lamkah khaw nang taengla ham pha ni.
That day — even unto thee it doth come in, From Asshur and the cities of the fortress, And from the fortress even unto the river, And from sea to sea, and mount to mount.
13 Amih khoboe thaihtae lamloh amah khosa rhoek kongah diklai khaw khopong la poeh ni.
And the land hath been for a desolation, Because of its inhabitants, Because of the fruit of their doings.
14 Na pilnam te na caitueng neh luem puei laeh. Na rho boiva he duup bueng ah ni kho a sak. Khosuen tue kah bangla Bashan neh Gilead kah cangphil cangngol lakli ah khaw luem uh saeh.
Rule Thou Thy people with Thy rod, The flock of Thine inheritance, Dwelling alone [in] a forest in the midst of Carmel, They enjoy Bashan and Gilead as in days of old.
15 Egypt kho lamkah na sunglat tue vaengkah bangla khobaerhambae te kan tueng ni.
According to the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt, I do shew it wonderful things.
16 Namtom loh a hmuh uh vetih amamih kah thayung thamal boeih te a yah uh puei ni. A kut te a ka dongah a puei uh vetih a hna paang uh ni.
See do nations, and they are ashamed of all their might, They lay a hand on the mouth, their ears are deaf.
17 Rhul bangla laipi a laeh uh ni. Diklai kah aka kawl uh bangla a puep lamloh tlai uh ni. Mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA taengah birhih uh vetih nang te n'rhih uh ni.
They lick dust as a serpent, as fearful things of earth, They tremble from their enclosures, Of Jehovah our God they are afraid, Yea, they are afraid of Thee.
18 Pathen namah bangla thaesainah aka phuei tih a rho a meet ham boekoeknah aka hmil he unim aka om? A thintoek te a yoeyah la pom pawt vetih a sitlohnah ni a omtoem eh.
Who [is] a God like Thee? taking away iniquity, And passing by the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance, He hath not retained for ever His anger, Because He — He delighteth [in] kindness.
19 Mael vetih mamih n'haidam ni. Mamih kah thaesainah khaw a khoh ni. Amih kah tholhnah cungkuem te tuitunli kah laedil la na voeih bitni.
He doth turn back, He pitieth us, He doth subdue our iniquities, And Thou castest into the depths of the sea all their sins.
20 Hlamat kum lamloh a pa rhoek taengah na toemngam bangla oltak he Jakob taengah, sitlohnah he Abraham taengah na paek ni.
Thou givest truth to Jacob, kindness to Abraham, That thou hast sworn to our fathers, from the days of antiquity!
