1 ⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲁⲛⲓⲁⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲥⲁⲡⲡⲓⲣⲁ ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲁϥϯⲟⲩϭⲱⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
And a certain man, Ananias by name, with his wife Sapphira, sold a possession,
2 ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϥⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲁⲥⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉϥⲕⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲕⲁⲁϥ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ
and kept back of the price—his wife also knowing—and having brought a certain part, he laid [it] at the feet of the apostles.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲁⲛⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲁⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲕϫⲓϭⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲅϥⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲥⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϭⲱⲙ
And Peter said, “Ananias, why did Satan fill your heart, for you to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back of the price of the place?
4 ⲇ̅ ⲙⲏ ⲛⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲕⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ϩⲁ ⲧⲉⲕⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲁⲕⲕⲁ ⲡⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲁⲕϫⲓ ϭⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
While it remained, did it not remain yours? And having been sold, was it not in your authority? Why [is] it that you put this thing in your heart? You did not lie to men, but to God”;
5 ⲉ̅ ⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲁⲛⲁⲛⲓⲁⲥ ⲁϥϩⲉ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ
and Ananias hearing these words, having fallen down, expired, and great fear came on all who heard these things,
6 ⲋ̅ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛϩⲣϣⲓⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲟⲥϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲧϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲙⲥϥ
and having risen, the younger men wound him up, and having carried forth, they buried [him].
7 ⲍ̅ ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ϣⲟⲙⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ
And it came to pass, about three hours after, that his wife, not knowing what has happened, came in,
8 ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϯ ⲡϭⲱⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ ⲛⲉⲓϩⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛⲧⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉϩⲉ ϩⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ
and Peter answered her, “Tell me if for so much you sold the place”; and she said, “Yes, for so much.”
9 ⲑ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϥⲓ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲉⲡⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲱⲙⲥ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲁⲓ ⲥⲉϩⲓⲣⲙ ⲡⲣⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϥⲓⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
And Peter said to her, “How was it agreed by you to tempt the Spirit of the LORD? Behold, the feet of those who buried your husband [are] at the door, and they will carry you forth”;
10 ⲓ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥϩⲉ ϩⲁ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲛϩⲣϣⲓⲣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲥⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲩϥⲓⲧⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲙⲥⲥ ϩⲁⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ
and immediately she fell down at his feet, and expired, and the young men having come in, found her dead, and having carried forth, they buried [her] by her husband;
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲟⲧⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲛⲁⲓ
and great fear came on all the Assembly, and on all who heard these things.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛϭⲓϫ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ϩⲉⲛⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩϩⲙ ⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲣⲡⲉ ϩⲁ ⲧⲉⲥⲧⲟⲁ ⲛⲥⲟⲗⲟⲙⲱⲛ
And through the hands of the apostles came many signs and wonders among the people, and they were all with one accord in the porch of Solomon;
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲧⲟⲗⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲟϭϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ
and of the rest no one was daring to join himself to them, but the people were magnifying them,
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϩⲓ ⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ
(and the more were believers added to the LORD, multitudes of both men and women),
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲡⲗⲁⲧⲓⲁ ⲛⲥⲉⲕⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲓ ϩⲉⲛϭⲗⲟϭ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲙⲁ ⲛⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲓ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉϥϩⲁⲓⲃⲉⲥ ⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ
so as to bring forth the ailing into the broad places, and to lay [them] on beds and pallets, that at the coming of Peter, even [his] shadow might overshadow someone of them;
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲉϣⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲙⲡⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲛⲑⲓⲗⲏⲙ ⲉⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲕϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲣⲡⲁϩⲣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ
and there were also coming together the people of the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, carrying ailing persons, and those harassed by unclean spirits—who were all healed.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲑⲁⲓⲣⲉⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲛⲥⲁⲇⲇⲟⲩⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲛⲕⲱϩ
And having risen, the chief priest, and all those with him—being the sect of the Sadducees—were filled with zeal,
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩϭⲓϫ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ
and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in a public prison;
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛⲛⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ ⲁϥⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ
but through the night a messenger of the LORD opened the doors of the prison, having also brought them forth, he said,
20 ⲕ̅ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁϣⲉ ⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲛⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲱⲛϩ
“Go on, and standing, speak in the temple to the people all the sayings of this life”;
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϣⲱⲣⲡ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲙⲡⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϩⲗⲗⲟ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲏⲗⲏ ⲁⲩϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩ
and having heard, they entered into the temple at the dawn, and were teaching. And the chief priest having come, and those with him, they called together the Sanhedrin and all the Senate of the sons of Israel, and they sent to the prison to have them brought,
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲛϩⲩⲡⲏⲣⲉⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϭⲛⲧⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲟⲟⲩ
and the officers having come, did not find them in the prison, and having turned back, they told,
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛϩⲉ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲉϥϣⲟⲧⲙ ϩⲛ ⲱⲣϫ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲣϣⲉ ⲉⲩⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲣⲛ ⲛⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲛϭⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲛ
saying, “We indeed found the prison shut in all safety, and the keepers standing outside before the doors, and having opened—we found no one within.”
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲥⲧⲣⲁⲧⲏⲅⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲁⲩⲁⲡⲟⲣⲣⲓ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲧⲟⲩ
And as the priest, and the magistrate of the temple, and the chief priests, heard these words, they were doubting concerning them to what this would come;
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲥⲉⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲉⲩϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ
and coming near, a certain one told them, saying, “Behold, the men whom you put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people”;
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲥⲧⲣⲁⲧⲏⲕⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛϩⲩⲡⲏⲣⲉⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϫⲛⲁϩ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲙⲏⲡⲱⲥ ⲛⲥⲉϩⲓⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
then the magistrate having gone away with officers, brought them without violence, for they were fearing the people, lest they should be stoned;
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲧⲁϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϫⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ
and having brought them, they set [them] in the Sanhedrin, and the chief priest questioned them,
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲅⲓⲗⲉ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲙϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲙⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲛⲑⲓⲗⲏⲏⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲃⲱ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲉⲓⲛⲉⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this Name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring on us the blood of this Man.”
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϣϣⲉ ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ
And Peter and the apostles answering, said, “It is required to obey God, rather than men;
30 ⲗ̅ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲉⲥ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲧϥ ⲉⲩϣⲉ
and the God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you slew, having hanged on a tree;
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲁⲥⲧϥ ⲛⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲅⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲓⲏⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲕⲁ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
this One, God, a Prince and a Savior, has exalted with His right hand, to give conversion to Israel, and forgiveness of sins;
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲥⲱϥ
and we are His witnesses of these sayings, and the Holy Spirit also, whom God gave to those obeying Him.”
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϭⲱⲛⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧⲟⲩ
And they having heard, were cut [to the heart], and were intending to slay them,
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲅⲁⲙⲁⲗⲓⲏⲗ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲙⲟⲇⲓⲇⲁⲥⲕⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲧⲁⲓⲏⲩ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ ⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩ ⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲣⲡⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ
but a certain one, having risen up in the Sanhedrin—a Pharisee, by name Gamaliel, a teacher of law honored by all the people—commanded to put the apostles forth a little,
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲛ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲟⲟⲩϩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲏⲗⲏ ϯϩⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲣⲱⲙⲉ
and said to them, “Men, Israelites, take heed to yourselves about these men, what you are about to do,
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ϩⲁⲑⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲛⲉⲓϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϭⲓ ⲑⲉⲩⲧⲁⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲁϥⲧⲟⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲟⲧⲃⲉϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲥⲱϥⲁⲩⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲗⲁⲁⲩ
for before these days Theudas rose up, saying that he was someone, to whom a number of men joined themselves, as it were four hundred, who was slain, and all, as many as were obeying him, were scattered, and came to nothing.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ ⲡⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲟⲥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲟⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲡⲉϣⲥ ⲟⲩⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱϥ ϩⲓⲡⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲕⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲁⲩϫⲱⲱⲣⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
After this one, Judas the Galilean rose up, in the days of the census, and drew away people after him, and that one perished, and all, as many as were obeying him, were scattered;
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲥⲁϩⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲓⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲕⲁⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲓϣⲟϫⲛⲉ ⲏ ⲡⲉⲓϩⲱⲃ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲓⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
and now I say to you, refrain from these men, and leave them alone, because if this counsel or this work may be of men, it will be overthrown,
39 ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣ ϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲏⲡⲱⲥ ⲛⲥⲉϭ ⲛⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϯ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲡⲓⲑⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ
and if it be of God, you are not able to overthrow it, lest perhaps you are also found fighting against God.”
40 ⲙ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲅⲓⲗⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲙϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲛⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
And to him they agreed, and having called near the apostles, having beaten [them], they commanded [them] not to speak in the Name of Jesus, and let them go;
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲩⲣⲁϣⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲟϣⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ
they, indeed, then, departed from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that for His Name they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor,
42 ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ ⲙⲙⲏⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲩⲏⲓ ⲛⲉⲩⲕⲓⲙ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲩϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲓϣ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
also every day in the temple, and in every house, they were not ceasing teaching and proclaiming good news—Jesus the Christ.
