John 18
1 After speaking these things, Jesus went forth with his disciples on the other side of the brook Kidron, where there was a garden into which he entered, he and his disciples.
И рекавши ово Исус изиђе с ученицима својим преко потока Кедрона где беше врт, у који уђе Он и ученици Његови.
2 Now Judas, the man betraying him, had also known the place, because Jesus also often gathered there with his disciples.
А Јуда, издајник Његов, знаше оно место; јер се Исус често скупљаше онде с ученицима својим.
3 Judas therefore having received the band and subordinates from the chief priests and the Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
Онда Јуда узе чету и од главара свештеничких и фарисеја момке, и дође онамо с фењерима и са свећама и с оружјем.
4 Jesus therefore knowing all the things that were coming upon him, after going forth, he says to them, Whom seek ye?
А Исус знајући све што ће бити од Њега изиђе и рече им: Кога тражите?
5 They answered him, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus says to them, I am he. And Judas, the man betraying him had also stood with them.
Одговорише Му: Исуса Назарећанина. Исус им рече: Ја сам. А с њима стајаше и Јуда који Га издаваше.
6 When therefore he said to them, I am he, they went backward and fell to the ground.
А кад им рече: Ја сам; измакоше се натраг и попадаше на земљу.
7 Again therefore he questioned them, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus the Nazarene.
Онда их опет запита Исус: Кога тражите? А они рекоше: Исуса Назарећанина.
8 Jesus answered, I told you that I am. If therefore ye seek me, allow these men to go,
Исус им одговори: Казах вам да сам ја. Ако дакле мене тражите, оставите ове нек иду.
9 so that the word that he spoke might be fulfilled, Of whom thou have given me, I lost, no, not one of them.
Да се изврши реч што рече: Не изгубих ни једног од оних које си ми дао.
10 Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's bondman, and cut off his right ear. Now the servant's name was Malchus.
А Симон Петар имаше нож, па га извади и удари слугу поглавара свештеничког, и одсече му десно ухо. А слузи беше име Малхо.
11 Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath. The cup that the Father has given me, shall I, no, not drink it?
Онда рече Исус Петру: Задени нож у ножнице. Чашу коју ми даде Отац зар да је не пијем?
12 So the band, and the chief captain, and the subordinates of the Jews, arrested Jesus and bound him,
А чета и војвода и момци јеврејски ухватише Исуса и свезаше Га,
13 and led him away first to Annas. For he was father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
И одведоше Га најпре Ани, јер беше таст Кајафи, који беше поглавар свештенички оне године.
14 Now Caiaphas was the man who counseled the Jews that it was expedient for one man to die on behalf of the people.
А Кајафа беше онај што даде савет Јудејцима да је боље да умре један човек него народ да пропадне.
15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, also the other disciple. But that disciple was known to the high priest, and he went in with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest.
За Исусом, пак, иђаше Симон Петар и други ученик; а ученик онај беше познат код поглавара свештеничког, и уђе с Исусом у двор поглавара свештеничког;
16 But Peter had stood near the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper and brought in Peter.
А Петар стајаше напољу код врата. Онда изиђе онај ученик што беше познат код поглавара свештеничког и рече вратарици те уведе Петра.
17 Therefore the servant girl (the doorkeeper) says to Peter, Are thou not also of this man's disciples? That man says, I am not.
Онда рече слушкиња вратарица Петру: Да ниси и ти ученик овог човека? Он рече: Нисам.
18 Now the bondmen and the subordinates had stood, having made a fire of coals because it was cold, and they were warming themselves. And Peter was also standing with them warming himself.
А слуге и момци беху наложили огањ и стајаху те се грејаху, јер беше зима; а и Петар стајаше с њима и грејаше се.
19 The high priest therefore asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his doctrine.
Поглавар, пак, свештенички запита Исуса за ученике Његове и за Његову науку.
20 Jesus answered him, I spoke in public to the world. I always taught in a synagogue, and in the temple where the Jews always gather together, and I spoke nothing in secret.
Исус му одговори: Ја говорих јавно свету, ја свагда учих у зборници и у цркви, где се свагда скупљају Јудејци, и ништа тајно не говорих.
21 Why question thou me? Question those who have heard what I said to them. Behold, these know the things that I said.
Што питаш мене? Питај оне који су слушали шта сам им говорио: ево ови знају шта сам ја говорио.
22 And when he said these things, one of the subordinates standing by gave a slap to Jesus, saying, Answer thou the high priest this way?
А кад Он ово рече, један од момака који стајаху онде удари Исуса по образу, и рече: Зар тако одговараш поглавару свештеничком?
23 Jesus answered him, If I spoke wrongly, testify about the wrong, but if correctly, why strike me?
Исус му одговори: Ако зло рекох, докажи да је зло; ако ли добро, зашто ме бијеш?
24 Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
И Ана посла Га свезаног Кајафи, поглавару свештеничком.
25 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. Therefore they said to him, Are thou not also of his disciples? That man therefore denied, and said, I am not.
А Симон Петар стајаше и грејаше се. Онда му рекоше: Да ниси и ти од ученика његових? А он се одрече и рече: Нисам.
26 One of the bondmen of the high priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, says, Did I not see thee in the garden with him?
Рече један од слугу поглавара свештеничког који беше рођак ономе што му Петар одсече ухо: Не видех ли ја тебе у врту с њим?
27 Peter therefore denied again, and straightaway a cock sounded.
Онда се Петар опет одрече; и одмах петао запева.
28 They lead Jesus therefore from Caiaphas to the Praetorium. And it was early, and they did not enter into the Praetorium, so that they would not be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.
А Исуса поведоше од Кајафе у судницу. Али беше јутро, и они не уђоше у судницу да се не би опоганили, него да би могли јести пасху.
29 Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
Онда Пилат изађе к њима напоље и рече: Какву кривицу износите на овог човека?
30 They answered and said to him, If this man were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered him up to thee.
Одговорише му и рекоше: Кад он не би био злочинац не бисмо га предали теби.
31 Pilate therefore said to them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not permitted for us to kill any man,
А Пилат им рече: Узмите га ви и по закону свом судите му. А Јевреји му рекоше: Ми не смемо никога погубити.
32 so that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled that he spoke, signifying what kind of death he was going to die.
Да се збуде реч Исусова коју рече казујући каквом ће смрти умрети.
33 Pilate therefore again entered into the Praetorium, and called Jesus, and said to him, Are thou the king of the Jews?
Онда уђе Пилат опет у судницу, и дозва Исуса, и рече Му: Ти си цар јудејски?
34 Jesus answered, Do thou say this of thyself, or did others tell thee about me?
Исус му одговори: Говориш ли ти то сам од себе, или ти други казаше за мене?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests delivered thee to me. What have thou done?
Пилат одговори: Зар сам ја Јеврејин? Род твој и главари свештенички предаше те мени; шта си учинио?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world my subordinates would have fought so that I would not be delivered to the Jews, but now my kingdom is not from here.
Исус одговори: Царство моје није од овог света; кад би било од овог света царство моје, онда би слуге моје браниле да не бих био предан Јеврејима; али царство моје није одавде.
37 Pilate therefore said to him, Then thou are a king? Jesus answered, Thou say that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I would testify to the truth. Every man who is of the truth hears my voice.
Онда Му рече Пилат: Дакле си ти цар? Исус одговори: Ти говориш да сам ја цар. Ја сам за то рођен, и зато дођох на свет да сведочим истину. И сваки који је од истине слуша глас мој.
38 Pilate says to him, What is truth? And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and says to them, I find not one cause in him.
Рече Му Пилат: Шта је истина? И ово рекавши изиђе опет к Јеврејима, и рече им: Ја никакве кривице не налазим на њему.
39 But there is a custom for you that I should release to you one man at the Passover. Do ye wish therefore I would release to you the king of the Jews?
А у вас је обичај да вам једног пустим на пасху, хоћете ли, дакле, да вам пустим цара јудејског?
40 They all cried out again therefore, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. But Barabbas was a robber.
Онда сви повикаше опет говорећи: Не овог, него Вараву. А Варава беше хајдук.
