Psalms 16
1 Preserve me, O God, for in thee do I take refuge.
Presérvame, oh Dios, pues me refugio en Ti;
2 Thou my soul have said to Jehovah, Thou are my Lord. I have no good beyond thee.
dije a Yahvé: “Tú eres mi Señor, no hay bien para mí fuera de Ti”.
3 As for the sanctified who are in the earth, they are the excellent in whom is all my delight.
En cuanto a los santos e ilustres de la tierra, no pongo en ellos mi afecto.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts for another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names upon my lips.
Multiplican sus dolores los que corren tras falsos dioses; no libaré la sangre de sus ofrendas, ni pronunciaré sus nombres con mis labios.
5 Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup. Thou maintain my lot.
Yahvé es la porción de mi herencia y de mi cáliz; Tú tienes en tus manos mi suerte.
6 The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places. Yea, I have a fine heritage.
Las cuerdas (de medir) cayeron para mí en buen lugar, y me tocó una herencia que me encanta.
7 I will bless Jehovah, who has given me counsel. Yea, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
Bendeciré a Yahvé, porque me (lo) hizo entender, y aun durante la noche me (lo) enseña mi corazón.
8 I beheld Jehovah always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Tengo siempre a Yahvé ante mis ojos, porque con Él a mi diestra no seré conmovido.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices. My flesh also shall dwell in hope.
Por eso se alegra mi corazón y se regocija mi alma, y aun mi carne descansará segura;
10 For thou will not leave my soul to Sheol, nor will thou allow thy holy man to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
pues Tú no dejarás a mi alma en el sepulcro, ni permitirás que tu santo experimente corrupción. (Sheol h7585)
11 Thou made known to me the path of life. Thou will fill me of joy with thy countenance.
Tú me harás conocer la senda de la vida, la plenitud del gozo a la vista de tu rostro, las eternas delicias de tu diestra.
