1 Samuel 17
1 Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle; and they were gathered together at Socoh, which belongeth to Judah, and encamped between Socoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim.
၁ဖိလိတ္တိ လူတို့သည် ဗိုလ်ခြေများကို နှိုးဆော်၍ ယုဒခရိုင် ရှောခေါမြို့၌ စုဝေးသဖြင့်၊ ရှောခေါမြို့နှင့် အဇေကာမြို့စပ်ကြား ဒမိမ်အရပ်မှာ တပ်ချကြ၏။
2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and encamped in the vale of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines.
၂ရှောလုနှင့်ဣသရေလ လူတို့သည် စုဝေး၍ ဧလာချိုင့်နားမှာ တပ်ချ၍ ဖိလိတ္တိလူတို့ကို တိုက်မည်ဟု စစ်ခင်းကျင်းကြ၏။
3 And the Philistines stood on the mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.
၃ဖိလိတ္တိလူအချို့တို့သည် ချိုင့်တဘက်၌ တောင်ပေါ်မှာရပ်လျက်၊ ဣသရေလလူအချို့တို့သည် ချိုင့်တဘက်၌ တောင်ပေါ်မှာ ရပ်လျက်ရှိကြ၏။
4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
၄ခြောက်တောင်နှင့်တထွာ အရပ်မြင့်သော ဂါသမြို့သားဂေါလျတ် အမည်ရှိသော သူရဲသည် ဖိလိတ္တိ တပ်ထဲက ထွက်လာ၏။
5 And he had a helmet of brass upon his head, and he was clad with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.
၅သူသည် ခေါင်းပေါ်မှာ ကြေးဝါခမောက်လုံးကို ဆောင်း၍ အခွက်ငါးဆယ် အချိန်ရှိသော ကြေးဝါ ချပ်အင်္ကျီကို ဝတ်၏။
6 And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a javelin of brass between his shoulders.
၆ကြေးဝါခြေစွပ်ကို စွပ်လျက် ပခုံးကြားမှာ ကြေးဝါကိဒုန် လက်နက်ကို ဆွဲလျက်ရှိ၏။
7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head [weighed] six hundred shekels of iron: and his shield-bearer went before him.
၇လှံရိုးကား ရက်ကန်းလက်လိပ်နှင့် အမျှကြီး၏။ လှံကိုယ်ကား သံခြောက်ပိဿာ အချိန်ရှိ၏။ သူ့ရှေ့ မှာ ဒိုင်းလွှားကို ဆောင်သောသူတယောက်သည် သွားရ၏။
8 And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
၈ထိုသူရဲသည် ရပ်လျက် သင်တို့သည် စစ်ပြိုင်ခြင်းငှါ အဘယ်ကြောင့် ထွက်လာကြသနည်း။ ငါသည် ဖိလိတ္တိလူ၊ သင်တို့သည် ရှောလု၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်ကြသည် မဟုတ်လော။ လူတယောက်ကို ရွေးကောက် ၍ ငါနှင့်တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ လာပါစေ။
9 If he be able to fight with me, and kill me, then will we be your servants; but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
၉သူသည် ငါ့ကို တိုက်၍ သတ်နိုင်လျှင် ငါတို့သည် သင်တို့၏ ကျွန်ခံမည်။ သို့မဟုတ် ထိုသူကို ငါနိုင် ၍ သတ်လျှင်၊ သင်တို့သည် ငါတို့၏ ကျွန်ခံ၍ ငါတို့အမှုကို ဆောင်ရွက်ရကြမည်ဟု ဣသရေလ ဗိုလ်ခြေတို့ကို ဟစ်၍ ပြောဆို၏။
10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.
၁၀တဖန် ထိုဖိလိတ္တိလူက၊ ဣသရေလဗိုလ်ခြေတို့ကို ယနေ့ ငါကြိမ်းပ၏။ လူချင်းတိုက်စေခြင်းငှါ လူတယောက်ကို ပေးကြလော့ဟု ဆို၏။
11 And when Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
၁၁ဖိလိတ္တိလူပြောသော ထိုစကားကို ရှောလုနှင့် ဣသရေလလူအပေါင်းတို့သည် ကြားလျှင် စိတ်ပျက်၍ အလွန်ကြောက်ရွံ့ကြ၏။
12 Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Beth-lehem-judah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man was an old man in the days of Saul, stricken [in years] among men.
၁၂ယုဒပြည်၊ ဗက်လင်မြို့၊ ဧဖရတ်အရပ်သားဖြစ်သော ဒါဝိဒ်၏ အဘယေရှဲသည် သားရှစ်ယောက် ရှိ၏။ ရှောလုလက်ထက်၌ ထိုသူသည် အသက်ကြီးသော သူ၏ အရာရှိ၏။
13 And the three eldest sons of Jesse had gone after Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the battle were Eliab the first-born, and next unto him Abinadab, and the third Shammah.
၁၃ယေရှဲ၏သားတို့တွင် အသက် အကြီးဆုံးသောသူ သုံးယောက်တို့သည် စစ်မှုကို ထမ်း၍ ရှောလုနောက် သို့ လိုက်ကြ၏။ သူတို့အမည်ကား သားဦးဧလျာဘ၊ ဒုတိယသားအဘိနဒပ်၊ တတိယသားရှိမာတည်း။
14 And David was the youngest; and the three eldest followed Saul.
၁၄ဒါဝိဒ်သည် အငယ်ဆုံးသော သားဖြစ်၏။ သားကြီးသုံးယောက်တို့သည် ရှောလုနောက်တော်သို့ လိုက်ကြသော်လည်း၊ -
15 Now David went to and fro from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Beth-lehem.
၁၅ဒါဝိဒ်သည် မလိုက်၊ ဗက်လင်မြို့မှာ မိမိအဘ၏ သိုးတို့ကို ထိန်းကျောင်းခြင်းငှါ ပြန်သွားလေ၏။
16 And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.
၁၆ဖိလိတ္တိလူသည် အရက်လေးဆယ်ပတ်လုံး၊ နံနက်တခါ၊ ညဦးတခါ ချဉ်းကပ်၍ ကိုယ်ကို ပြ၏။
17 And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched grain, and these ten loaves, and carry [them] quickly to the camp to thy brethren;
၁၇ထိုအခါ ယေရှဲသည် မိမိသား ဒါဝိဒ်ကို ခေါ်၍၊ သင့်အစ်ကိုတို့အဘို့ ဤပေါက်ပေါက် တဧဖာနှင့် ဤမုန့်ဆယ်လုံးတို့ကို ယူ၍ အစ်ကိုတို့ရှိရာ တပ်တော်သို့ ပြေးသွားလော့။
18 and bring these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.
၁၈ဤဒိန်ခဲဆယ်လုံးကိုလည်း ယူ၍ သူတို့တပ်မှူးအား ဆက်လော့။ သင့်အစ်ကိုတို့သည် ကျန်းမာခြင်း ရှိသည် မရှိသည်ကို ကြည့်ရှုပြီးမှ၊ သူတို့ထံမှာ သက်သေတစုံတခုကို ခံယူလော့ဟုမှာလိုက်လေ၏။
19 Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the vale of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.
၁၉ထိုကာလ၌ ရှောလုမှစ၍ ဒါဝိဒ်အစ်ကိုတို့နှင့် ဣသရေလလူအပေါင်းတို့သည် ဧလာချိုင့်မှာ ဖိလိတ္တိ လူတို့ကို စစ်တိုက်လျက် ရှိကြ၏။
20 And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the place of the wagons, as the host which was going forth to the fight shouted for the battle.
၂၀ဒါဝိဒ်သည် နံနက်စောစောထ၍ သိုးတို့ကို သိုးထိန်း၌ အပ်ပြီးလျှင်၊ အဘမှာလိုက်သည် အတိုင်း စားစရာကို ယူသွား၍၊ ရိက္ခာလှည်းထားရာသို့ ရောက်သောအခါ၊ -
21 And Israel and the Philistines put the battle in array, army against army.
၂၁ဣသရေလ တပ်သားတို့နှင့် ဖိလိတ္တိတပ်သားတို့သည် စစ်ခင်းကျင်း၍ စစ်တလင်းသို့ ချီလျက်၊ စစ် တိုက်မည်အသံနှင့် ကြွေးကြော်ကြ၏။
22 And David left his baggage in the hand of the keeper of the baggage, and ran to the army, and came and saluted his brethren.
၂၂ဒါဝိဒ်သည် မိမိ၌ပါသောအရာတို့ကို ရိက္ခာစောင့်လက်၌ အပ်ထားပြီးလျှင်၊ တပ်သားစုထဲသို့ ပြေး၍ မိမိအစ်ကိုတို့ကို နှုတ်ဆက်၏။
23 And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the ranks of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them.
၂၃သူတို့နှင့် ပြောစဉ်တွင်၊ ဖိလိတ္တိလူ၊ ဂါသမြို့သား ဂေါလျတ်အမည်ရှိသော သူရဲသည် ဖိလိတ္တိတပ်ထဲ က ထွက်လာ၍ ယမန်ကဲ့သို့ ပြောဆိုသည်ကို ဒါဝိဒ်သည် ကြားလေ၏။
24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.
၂၄ဣသရေလလူအပေါင်းတို့သည် ထိုသူကို မြင်သောအခါ အလွန်ကြောက်ရွံ့၍ ပြေးကြ၏။
25 And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel.
၂၅အချို့တို့ကလည်း၊ ထိုလူထွက်လာသည်ကို မြင်သလော။ ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို ကြိမ်းပလျက်ထွက်လာ ပါသည်တကား။ သူ့ကို သတ်သောသူအား ရှင်ဘုရင်သည် ကြီးသော စည်းစိမ်နှင့် ချီးမြှောက်၍ သမီးတော်ကိုလည်း ပေးစားတော်မူမည်။ ထိုသူ၏ အဆွေအမျိုးကိုလည်း ဣသရေလနိုင်ငံတွင် မင်းမှု လွှတ်တော်မူမည်ဟု ပြောဆိုကြ၏။
26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?
၂၆ဒါဝိဒ်ကလည်း၊ ထိုဖိလိတ္တိလူကို သတ်၍ ဣသရေလအမျိုးခံသော အရှက်ကွဲခြင်းကို ပယ်ရှင်းသော သူသည် အဘယ်အကျိုးကို ရလိမ့်မည်နည်း။ အသက်ရှင်တော်မူသော ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဗိုလ်ခြေ တို့ကို ကြိမ်းပရမည်အကြောင်း၊ အရေဖျားလှီးခြင်းကို မခံသော ထိုဖိလိတ္တိလူသည် အဘယ်သို့သော သူဖြစ်သနည်းဟု မိမိအနားမှာရှိသော သူတို့အား မေးမြန်းလျှင်၊-
27 And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him.
၂၇သူတို့က၊ ထိုလူကို သတ်သောသူသည် ဤမည်သော အကျိုးကို ရလိမ့်မည်ဟု ယမန်ကဲ့သို့ ပြန်ပြောကြ၏။
28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why art thou come down? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thy heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
၂၈ထိုသူတို့နှင့် ဒါဝိဒ်ပြောသည်ကို အစ်ကိုအကြီး ဧလျာဘကြားလျှင် ဒါဝိဒ်ကို အမျက်ထွက်၍၊ သင်သည် အဘယ်ကြောင့် ဤအရပ်သို့ လာသနည်း။ ထိုနည်းသော သိုးတို့ကို တောတွင် အဘယ်သူလက်၌ အပ်ခဲ့သနည်း။ သင့်မာနကြီးခြင်း၊ သင့်စိတ်နှလုံးဆိုးညစ်ခြင်းကို ငါသိ၏။ စစ်ပွဲကို ကြည့်ရှုခြင်းငှါ သာလာပြီဟု ဆို၏။
29 And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?
၂၉ဒါဝိဒ်ကလည်း၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် အဘယ်အမှုကို ပြုမိသနည်း။ ယခုပြောစရာ အကြောင်းမရှိလောဟု ဆိုသောနောက်၊
30 And he turned away from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.
၃၀အခြားသောသူတို့ထံသို့ လှည့်၍ ယမန်ကဲ့သို့ မေးမြန်းလျှင်၊ သူတို့သည် ရှေ့အတူ ပြန်ပြောကြ၏။
31 And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul; and he sent for him.
၃၁ထိုသို့ ဒါဝိဒ်ပြောသော စကားကို ကြားသော သူတို့သည် ရှောလုထံတော်၌ ကြားလျှောက်သော်၊ ဒါဝိဒ်ကို ခေါ်တော်မူ၏။
32 And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
၃၂ဒါဝိဒ်ကလည်း ထိုလူကြောင့် အဘယ်သူမျှ စိတ်မပျက်ပါစေနှင့်။ ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်သွား၍ ထိုဖိလိတ္တိ လူကို တိုက်ပါမည်ဟု ရှောလုအား လျှောက်လျှင်၊-
33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
၃၃ရှောလုက၊ သင်သည် ထိုဖိလိတ္တိလူကို သွား၍ မတိုက်နိုင်။ သင်သည် နုပျိုသောသူဖြစ်၏။ ထိုသူသည် ပျိုသောအရွယ်မှစ၍ စစ်သူရဲဖြစ်ခဲ့ပြီဟု ဒါဝိဒ်အား ဆိုသော်၊-
34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant was keeping his father’s sheep; and when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock,
၃၄ဒါဝိဒ်က၊ ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်သည် အဘ၏ သိုးတို့ကို ထိန်းကျောင်းစဉ်အခါ၊ ခြင်္သေ့နှင့်ဝံသည်လာ၍ သိုးသငယ်ကို သိုးစုထဲက ကိုက်ချီပါ၏။
35 I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth; and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
၃၅ကျွန်တော်လိုက်၍ သတ်သဖြင့် သိုးသငယ်ကို သူ့ပစပ်ထဲက နှုတ်ပါ၏။ ဝံသည် ကျွန်တော်ကို ပြန်၍ ကိုက်သောအခါ၊ ဝံ၏မုတ်ဆိတ်ကို ကိုင်၍ ရိုက်သတ်ပါ၏။
36 Thy servant smote both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
၃၆ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန်သည် ခြင်္သေ့နှင့်ဝံနှစ်ကောင်လုံးကို သတ်ပါ၏။ အရေဖျားလှီးခြင်းကို မခံသော ထိုဖိလိတ္တိလူသည် အသက်ရှင်တော်မူသော ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဗိုလ်ခြေတို့ကို ကြိမ်းပသောကြောင့်၊ ထိုအကောင် တကောင်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်ပါလိမ့်မည်။
37 And David said, Jehovah that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and Jehovah shall be with thee.
၃၇ခြင်္သေ့လက်၊ ဝံလက်မှ ကျွန်တော်ကို ကယ်နှုတ်တော်မူသော ထာဝရဘုရားသည်၊ ထိုဖိလိတ္တိလူလက်မှ ကယ်နှုတ်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်ဟု ရှောလုအား လျှောက်လေသော်၊ ရှောလုကသွားလော့။ ထာဝရဘုရား သည် သင်နှင့်အတူ ရှိတော်မူပါစေသောဟု ဒါဝိဒ်အား ဆိုလေ၏။
38 And Saul clad David with his apparel, and he put a helmet of brass upon his head, and he clad him with a coat of mail.
၃၈ရှောလုသည်လည်း ဒါဝိဒ်ကို မိမိအဝတ်နှင့်ဝတ်စေသဖြင့်၊ သူ၏ခေါင်းပေါ်မှာ ကြေးဝါခလောက်လုံး ကိုတင်၍၊ သံချပ်အင်္ကျီကိုလည်း ဝတ်စေ၏။
39 And David girded his sword upon his apparel, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.
၃၉ဒါဝိဒ်သည် ထားတော်ကို အဝတ်ပေါ်မှာ စည်း၍ သွားမည်ဟု အားထုတ်သော်လည်း၊ ထိုလက်နက် များကို မစုံစမ်းသေး။ သို့ဖြစ်၍ ဒါဝိဒ်က ဤလက်နက်တို့နှင့် ကျွန်တော် မသွားနိုင်ပါ၊ မစုံစမ်းပါသေး ဟု ရှောလုအား လျှောက်၍ ချွတ်ပြန်လေ၏။
40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the shepherd’s bag which he had, even in his wallet; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.
၄၀တဖန် မိမိတောင်ဝေးကို ကိုင်လျက်၊ ချောသောကျောက်ငါးလုံးကို ချောင်းထဲက ရွေး၍၊ သိုးထိန်း တန်ဆာတည်းဟူသော လွယ်အိတ်၌ ထည့်ပြီးမှ၊ လောက်လွှဲကိုလည်းကိုင်၍ ဖိလိတ္တိလူရှိရာသို့ ချဉ်းလေ၏။
41 And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him.
၄၁ဖိလိတ္တိလူသည်လည်း ဒါဝိဒ်ရှိရာသို့ ချဉ်း၍ သူ့ရှေ့မှာ ဒိုင်းလွှားကို ဆောင်သောသူလည်း သွား၏။
42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him; for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and withal of a fair countenance.
၄၂ဖိလိတ္တိလူသည် ကြည့်၍ ဒါဝိဒ်ကို မြင်သောအခါ မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြု၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သူသည် နုပျိုသောသူ၊ ဆံပင်နီ၍ မျက်နှာလှသောသူ ဖြစ်၏။
43 And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
၄၃ဖိလိတ္တိလူက၊ သင်သည် တောင်ဝေးနှင့် ငါ့ထံသို့ လာရမည်အကြောင်း၊ ငါသည် ခွေးဖြစ်သလောဟု မေးလျက်၊ မိမိဘုရားတို့ကို တိုင်တည်၍ ဒါဝိဒ်ကို ကျိန်ဆဲလေ၏။
44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the birds of the heavens, and to the beasts of the field.
၄၄တဖန် ဖိလိတ္တိလူက လာခဲ့။ သင့်အသားကို မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင် ငှက်နှင့်တောသားရဲတို့အား ငါပေးမည်ဟု ဒါဝိဒ်ကိုဆို၏။
45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a javelin: but I come to thee in the name of Jehovah of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
၄၅ဒါဝိဒ်ကသင်သည် ထား၊ လှံ၊ ကိဒုန်ပါလျက် ငါ့ထံသို့ လာ၏။ ငါသည် သင် ကြိမ်းပသော ဣသရေလ ဗိုလ်ခြေတို့၏ ဘုရားသခင်၊ ကောင်းကင်ဗိုလ်ခြေ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား၏ နာမတော်ပါလျက် သင်ရှိ ရာသို့လာ၏။
46 This day will Jehovah deliver thee into my hand; and I will smite thee, and take thy head from off thee; and I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day unto the birds of the heavens, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,
၄၆ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင့်ကို ငါ့လက်၌ ယနေ့ အပ်တော်မူသဖြင့်၊ သင့်ကို ငါသတ်၍ လည်ပင်းကို ဖြတ်မည်။ ဖိလိတ္တိဗိုလ်ခြေ အသေကောင်များကို မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်ငှက်နှင့် တောသားရဲတို့အား ယနေ့ ငါပေးမည်။ ဣသရေလအမျိုး၌ ဘုရားသခင် ရှိတော်မူသည်ကို မြေကြီးသားအပေါင်းတို့ သည်သိရကြလိမ့်မည်။
47 and that all this assembly may know that Jehovah saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is Jehovah’s, and he will give you into our hand.
၄၇ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ထားလှံအားဖြင့် ကယ်တင်တော်မမူကြောင်းကို၊ ဤပရိသတ်အပေါင်းတို့သည် သိရကြလိမ့်မည်။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် စစ်မှုကို ပိုင်၍၊ ငါတို့လက်သို့ အပ်နှံတော် မူမည်ဟု ဖိလိတ္တိလူအား ဆို၏။
48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
၄၈ဖိလိတ္တိလူသည် ထ၍ ဒါဝိဒ်နှင့်တွေ့ခြင်းငှါ ချဉ်းလာသောအခါ၊ ဒါဝိဒ်သည်လည်း ဖိလိတ္တိလူနှင့် တွေ့ခြင်းငှါ ဗိုလ်ခြေရှိရာသို့ အလျင်အမြန် ပြေးပြီးမှ၊-
49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead; and the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the earth.
၄၉လွယ်အိတ်ထဲက ကျောက်တလုံးကို နှိုက်ယူ၍ လွှဲပစ်၏။ ဖိလိတ္တိလူ၏ နဖူးကို မှန်၍ နဖူးပေါက် သဖြင့် သူသည် မြေပေါ်မှာ ငိုက်စိုက်လဲလေ၏။
50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
၅၀ထိုသို့ ဒါဝိဒ်သည် လောက်လွှဲနှင့် ကျောက်တလုံးအားဖြင့် နိုင်လျက် ထိခိုက်၍ သတ်လေ၏။
51 Then David ran, and stood over the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.
၅၁ထိုအခါ ဒါဝိဒ်သည် ထားမပါသောကြောင့် ပြေး၍ ဖိလိတ္တိလူကို နင်းလျက်၊ သူ၏ ထားကို ထားအိမ်မှ နှုတ်ဆွဲပြီးလျှင် လည်ပင်းကို ဖြတ်၍ အပြီးသတ်လေ၏။ ဖိလိတ္တိလူတို့သည် သူတို့၏ သူရဲသေကြောင်းကို မြင်သောအခါ ပြေးကြ၏။
52 And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou comest to Gai, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron.
၅၂ထိုအခါ ဣသရေလအမျိုး၊ ယုဒအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ထ၍ ကြွေးကြော်လျက် ချိုင့်တိုင်အောင်၎င်း၊ ဧကြုန်မြို့ တံခါးတိုင်အောင်၎င်း၊ ဖိလိတ္တိလူတို့ကို လိုက်ကြ၏။ ထိခိုက်သော ဖိလိတ္တိလူတို့သည် ရှာရိမ်မြို့ လမ်းနားမှစ၍ ဂါသမြို့၊ ဧကြုန်မြို့တိုင်အောင် လဲကြ၏။
53 And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they plundered their camp.
၅၃ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဖိလိတ္တိလူတို့ကို လိုက်ရာမှ ပြန်လာ၍ သူတို့တဲများကို လုယူကြ၏။
54 And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armor in his tent.
၅၄ဒါဝိဒ်သည် ဖိလိတ္တိလူ၏ ဦးခေါင်းကို ယူ၍ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့သို့ ဆောင်သွား၏။ သူ၏လက်နက်များ ကို မိမိတဲ၌ ထား၏။
55 And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell.
၅၅ဒါဝိဒ်သည် ဖိလိတ္တိလူကို တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ ထွက်သွားသည်ကို ရှောလုသည်မြင်လျှင်၊ ထိုလုလင်ကား အဘယ်သူ၏ သာဖြစ်သနည်းဟု ဗိုလ်ချုပ်မင်းအာဗနာကို မေး၏။ အာဗနာကလည်း၊ အရှင်မင်းကြီး အသက်တော် ရှင်သည်အတိုင်း ကျွန်တော် မသိပါဟု လျှောက်လျှင်၊-
56 And the king said, Inquire thou whose son the stripling is.
၅၆ရှင်ဘုရင်က၊ ထိုလုလင်သည် အဘယ်သူ၏ သားဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ကို မေးစစ်လော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
57 And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.
၅၇ဒါဝိဒ်သည် ဖိလိတ္တိလူကို သတ်ပြီးမှ၊ သူ၏ ဦးခေါင်းကို ကိုင်လျက် ပြန်လာသောအခါ၊ အာဗနာသည် ခေါ်၍ ရှောလုထံသို့ ဆောင်သွားပြီးလျှင်၊-
58 And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Beth-lehemite.
၅၈ရှောလုက၊ အချင်း လုလင်၊ သင်သည် အဘယ်သူ၏ သားဖြစ်သနည်းဟု မေးတော်မူ၏။ ဒါဝိဒ်ကလည်း ကျွန်တော်သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကျွန်၊ ဗက်လင်မြို့သား ယေရှဲ၏သား ဖြစ်ပါသည်ဟု လျှောက်လေ၏။
