Esias 57

1 See how the just man has perished, and no one lays [it] to heart: and righteous men are taken away, and no one considers: for the righteous has been removed out of the way of injustice.

Il giusto muore, e non [vi è] alcuno che [vi] ponga mente; e gli uomini da bene son raccolti, senza che alcuno consideri che il giusto è raccolto d'innanzi al male.

2 His burial shall be in peace: he has been removed out of the way.

Chi cammina nella sua dirittura se ne andrà in pace, si riposeranno sopra i lor letti.

3 But draw you near hither, you lawless children, the seed of adulterers and the harlot.

Ma voi, figliuoli dell'incantatrice, progenie adultera, [che] non fai altro che fornicare, accostatevi qua.

4 Wherein have you been rioting? and against whom have you opened your mouth, and against whom have you loosed your tongue? are you not children of perdition? a lawless seed?

Sopra cui vi sollazzate voi? sopra cui allargate la bocca, [ed] allungate la lingua? non siete voi figliuoli di misfatto, progenie di falsità?

5 who call upon idols under the leafy trees, slaying your children in the valleys amongst the rocks?

[Voi], che vi riscaldate dietro alle querce, sott'ogni albero verdeggiante, che scannate i figliuoli nelle valli, sotto alle caverne delle rocce.

6 That is your portion, this is your lot: and to them have you poured forth drink-offerings, and to these have you offered meat-offerings. Shall I not therefore be angry for these things?

La tua parte [è] nelle [pietre] pulite de' torrenti; quelle, quelle [son] la tua sorte; a quelle eziandio hai sparse offerte da spandere, e presentate oblazioni; con tutte queste cose potrei io esser rappacificato?

7 On a lofty and high mountain, there is your bed, and there you carried up your meat-offerings:

Tu hai posto il tuo letto sopra i monti alti ed elevati; e sei eziandio salita là, per sacrificar sacrificii.

8 and behind the posts of your door you did place your memorials. Did you think that if you should depart from me, you would gain? you have loved those that lay with you;

Ed hai messa la tua ricordanza dietro all'uscio, e dietro allo stipite; conciossiachè tu ti sii scoperta, [sviandoti] da me; e sii salita, [ed] abbi allargato il tuo letto, ed abbi fatto patto con [alcuni] di coloro; tu hai amata la lor giacitura, tu hai spiato il luogo.

9 and you have multiplied your whoredom with them, and you have increased the number of them that are far from you, and have sent ambassadors beyond your borders, and have been debased even to hell. (Sheol h7585)

Ed hai portati al Re presenti d'olii odoriferi, con gran quantità delle tue composizioni aromatiche; ed hai mandati i tuoi ambasciatori fino in paese lontano, e ti sei abbassata fino all'inferno. (Sheol h7585)

10 You has wearied yourself with your many ways; yet you said not, I will cease to strengthen myself: for you has done these things; therefore you has not supplicated me.

Tu ti sei affaticata nella lunghezza del tuo cammino; tu non hai detto: [La cosa è] disperata; tu hai ritrovata la vita della tua mano, perciò tu non ti sei stancata.

11 Through dread of whom have you feared, and lied against me, and has not remembered, nor considered me, nor regarded me, yes, though when I see you I pass you by, yet you has not feared me.

E di cui hai tu avuta paura? chi hai tu temuto? conciossiachè tu abbi mentito, e non ti sii ricordata di me, [e] non te ne sii curata? non mi sono io taciuto, anzi già da lungo tempo? e pur tu non mi hai temuto.

12 And I will declare your righteousness, and your sins, which shall not profit you.

Io dichiarerò la tua giustizia, e le tue opere, che non ti gioveranno nulla.

13 When you cry out, let them deliver you in your affliction: for all these the wind shall take, and the tempest shall carry [them] away: but they that cleave to me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.

Quando tu griderai, liberinti quelli che tu aduni; ma il vento li porterà via tutti quanti, un soffio [li] torrà via; ma chi spera in me possederà la terra, ed erederà il monte della mia santità.

14 And they shall say, Clear the ways before him, and take up the stumbling blocks out of the way of my people.

Ed ei si dirà: Rilevate, rilevate le strade, acconciatele; togliete via gl'intoppi dal cammino del mio popolo.

15 Thus says the Most High, who dwells on high for ever, Holy in the holies, is his name, the Most High resting in the holies, and giving patience to the faint-hearted, and giving life to the broken-hearted:

Perciocchè, così ha detto l'Alto, e l'Eccelso, che abita l'eternità, e il cui Nome [è] il Santo: Io abito in [luogo] alto, e santo, e col contrito, ed umile di spirito; per vivificar lo spirito degli umili, e per vivificare il cuor de' contriti.

16 I will not take vengeance on you for ever, neither will I be always angry with you: for my Spirit shall go forth from me, and I have created all breath.

Conciossiachè io non centenda in perpetuo, e non mi adiri in eterno; perciocchè [altrimenti ogni] spirito, e le anime [che] io ho fatte, verrebber meno per la mia presenza.

17 On account of sin for a little while I grieved him, and struck him, and turned away my face from him; and he was grieved, and he went on sorrowful in his ways.

Io sono stato adirato per l'iniquità della sua cupidigia, e l'ho percosso; io [mi] son nascosto, e sono stato indegnato; ma pur [quel] ribello è andato per la via del suo cuore.

18 I have seen his ways, and healed him, and comforted him, and given him true comfort;

Io ho vedute le sue vie, e pur lo guarirò, e lo ricondurrò, e restituirò consolazioni a lui, ed a quelli d'infra lui che fanno cordoglio.

19 peace upon peace to them that are far off, and to them that are near: and the Lord has said, I will heal them.

Io creo ciò ch'è proferito con le labbra; pace, pace al lontano, ed al vincino, dice il Signore; ed io lo guarirò.

20 But the unrighteous shall be tossed as troubled waves, and shall not be able to rest.

Ma gli empi [sono] come il mare sospinto, il quale non può quietare, e le cui acque cacciano fuori pantano e fango.

21 There is no joy to the ungodly, said God.

Non [vi è] niuna pace per gli empi; ha detto l'Iddio mio.
