Esias 63

1 Who is this that is come from Edom, [with] red garments from Bosor? thus fair in his apparel, with mighty strength? I speak of righteousness and saving judgement.

¿Quién es este que viene de Edom, de Bosra con vestidos teñidos (de sangre)? ¡Tan gallardo en su vestir, camina majestuosamente en la grandeza de su poder! “Soy Yo el que habla con justicia, el poderoso para salvar.”

2 Therefore are your garments red, and your raiment as [if fresh] from a trodden winepress?

“¿Por qué está rojo tu vestido y tus ropas como las de lagarero?”

3 I am full of trodden [grape], and of the nations there is not a man with me; and I trampled them in my fury, and dashed them to pieces as earth, and brought down their blood to the earth.

“He pisado yo solo el lagar, sin que nadie de los pueblos me ayudase: los he pisado en mi ira, y los he hollado en mi furor; su sangre salpicó mis ropas, manchando todas mis vestiduras.

4 For the day of recompence has come upon them, and the year of redemption is at hand.

Porque había fijado en mi corazón el día de la venganza, y el año de mis redimidos había llegado.

5 And I looked, and there was no helper; and I observed, and none upheld: therefore my arm delivered them, and mine anger drew near.

Miré, mas no había quien me auxiliase, me asombré, pero nadie vino a sostenerme. Me salvó mi propio brazo, y me sostuvo mi furor.

6 And I trampled them in mine anger, and brought down their blood to the earth.

Pisoteé a los pueblos en mi ira, y los embriagué con mi furor, derramando por tierra su sangre.”

7 I remembered the mercy of the Lord, the praises of the Lord in all things wherein he recompenses us. The Lord is a good judge to the house of Israel; he deals with us according to his mercy, and according to the abundance of his righteousness.

Celebraré las misericordias de Yahvé, las alabanzas de Yahvé, según todo lo que Yahvé nos ha hecho, y la gran bondad que ha usado con la casa de Israel según su piedad, y según la multitud de sus misericordias.

8 And he said, Is it not my people? the children surely will not be rebellious: and he became to them deliverance

Pues Él dijo: “¡Sí! Son mi pueblo, hijos que no serán más infieles”, y así se hizo Salvador suyo.

9 out of all their affliction: not an ambassador, nor a messenger, but himself saved them, because he loved them and spared them: he himself redeemed them, and took them up, and lifted them up all the days of old.

Todas las angustias de ellos fueron angustias Suyas, y el Ángel de su Rostro los sacó a salvo. En su amor y en su misericordia Él los rescató, los sostuvo y los llevó todo el tiempo pasado.

10 But they disobeyed, and provoked his Holy Spirit: so he turned to be an enemy, he himself contended against them.

Mas ellos se rebelaron, y contristaron su santo Espíritu; entonces se convirtió en enemigo de ellos, y Él mismo los combatió.

11 Then he remembered the ancient days, [saying], Where is he that brought up from the sea the shepherd of the sheep? where is he that put his Holy Spirit in them?

Pero se acordó de los tiempos antiguos, de Moisés y de su pueblo (diciendo): ¿Dónde está El que los sacó del mar con los pastores de su grey? ¿Dónde El que puso en medio de ellos su santo Espíritu?

12 who led Moses with his right hand, the arm of his glory? he forced the water [to separate] from before him, to make himself an everlasting name.

¿Dónde Aquel que los guió por la diestra de Moisés? ¿Dónde su brazo glorioso, que dividió las aguas delante de ellos, para adquirirse un nombre eterno?

13 He led them through the deep, as a horse through the wilderness, and they fainted not,

¿Dónde Aquel que los condujo por en medio de los abismos, como a caballo por el desierto, sin que tropezaran?

14 and as cattle through a plain: the Spirit came down from the Lord, and guided them: thus you led your people, to make yourself a glorious name.

Como el ganado es llevado al valle, así el Espíritu de Yahvé los llevó al descanso. De esta manera condujiste Tú a tú pueblo, a fin de adquirirte un nombre glorioso.

15 Turn from heaven, and look from your holy habitation and [from] your glory: where is your zeal and your strength? where is the abundance of your mercy and of your compassions, that you have withholden yourself from us?

Atiende desde el cielo y mira desde tu santa y gloriosa morada. ¿Dónde está tu celo y tu fuerza, la ternura de tus entrañas y tus misericordias? ¿No las usas conmigo?

16 For you are our Father; for [though] Abraham knew us not, and Israel did not acknowledge us, yet do you, O Lord, our Father, deliver us: your name has been upon us from the beginning.

Porque Tú eres nuestro Padre, aunque Abrahán no nos conoce, e Israel nada sabe de nosotros. Tú, Yahvé, eres nuestro Padre; “Redentor nuestro”, este es tu nombre desde la eternidad.

17 Why have you caused us to err, O Lord, from your way? [and] has hardened our hearts, that we should not fear you? Return for your servants' sake, for the sake of the tribes of your inheritance,

¿Cómo, Yahvé, permitirías que nos desviemos de tus caminos, endurezcamos nuestro corazón en vez de temerte? Vuélvete por amor de tus siervos, de las tribus de tu herencia.

18 that we may inherit a small part of your holy mountain.

Tu santo pueblo la poseyó solo por breve tiempo; porque nuestros enemigos han pisoteado tu Santuario.

19 We are become as at the beginning, when you did not rule over us, and your name was not called upon us.

Somos desde mucho como aquellos que Tú no gobiernas, como los que nunca llevaron tu nombre.
