< Proverbs 7 >

1 [My] son, keep my words, and hide with you my commandments. [My] son, honour the Lord, and you shall be strong; and fear none but him:
Kachapa, kathumop hi juiyin, kathupeh chengse jong gou chin in ching jing-in.
2 keep my commandments, and you shall live; and [keep] my words as the pupils of [your] eyes.
Kathupeh chengse hinna nanei thei nadin nit jing in, kathuhil chengse namit chang naki chintup bang in chingtup in.
3 And bind them on your fingers, and write [them] on the table of your heart.
Hichengse chu nasuhmil lou nadin khutjem bun kibun lang, nalungthim gil sunga lekhajem bang in kijih lut in.
4 Say that wisdom is your sister, and gain prudence as an acquaintance for yourself;
Chihna hi naso pinu bang in ngailun, chule nagol ngaitah banga nakisem ding ahi.
5 that she may keep you from the strange and wicked woman, if she should assail you with flattering words.
Hichun numei jong hoa kon navendoh ding, pasal toh jonthanhoi bol numeia kon chu nahoidoh ding ahi.
6 For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets, at one whom she may see of the senseless ones, a young man void of understanding,
Kain bang-kot akon kagal vet’a, polam kavet a hileh,
7 passing by the corner in the passages near her house,
Japi lah’a jong kamun, gollhang ho kititna mun’a jong kamun, lungthim bei gollhang khat aum in ahi.
8 and speaking, in the dark of the evening,
Amapa chu, numei jong-nu inlam achun avah lejin, hiche numeinu in-jotna lam chu ajon jitai.
9 when there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:
Jingkah khovah then then in jong, nilhah lam in jong, jan muthim lah’a jong, hiche lam’a chun ache jitan ahi.
10 and the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot, that causes the hearts of young men to flutter.
Chuin numei khat in amudoh tan, amanu chu noti-von a kivon, a-lua pon akikhuh in ahi.
11 And she is fickle, and debauched, and her feet abide not at home.
Hiche nuchu thunung lou khop in, jum le ja jong helouvin, in-a um thim thei louva keng javelvul a um ahi.
12 For at one time she wanders without, and at [another] time she lies in wait in the streets, at every corner.
Kholaija um’a igel laijin, kailhanga akimun, munthip ningkoi lah jenga mi achang lhih jin ahi.
13 Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
Gollhangpa chu amu teng angong koi pai ji-in, achop jitan, jum lou tah’in gollhangpa henga chun aseijin
14 I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:
“Keiman chamna maicham sem ding tampi kaneijin, tuni hin kakitepna jouse pe tange,
15 therefore I came forth to meet you, desiring your face; [and] I have found you.
Ajeh chu nangma velhih-a hung potdoh kahin, lunglhai sel’a nangma hol’a kahung chu, hikom-a kamutai.
16 I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.
Kajalkhun jong Egypt gam’a ponnem jemhoi tah’a kapha jolsel ahi.
17 I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.
Kajalkhun chunga myrrh namtui kathe in, aloes namtui le thingthal namtui tah kahin the ahi.
18 Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning; come, and let us embrace in love.
Hungin, jankhovah geijin lungna chimtah in kinou taitin, kilungset hitin, jankhovah in kideito hite.
19 For my husband is not at home, but is gone on a long journey,
Ajeh chu kajipa in-a aumpon, khojin in mun gamla tah’a achen ahi.
20 having taken in his hand a bundle of money: after many days he will return to his house.
Asum bom a sum dimset’in akipoh in, lha kichai lam teng hung kile din achetai.”
21 So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray, and with the snares of her lips forced him from [the right path].
Hitichun numeinun thungai tah tah aseijin ajol jol tan, ajonan athunun in, kamnal hiohio cha akihoupi tahjeh in gollhangpa jong anom tan ahi.
22 And he followed her, being gently led on, and [that] as an ox is led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a hart shot in the liver with an arrow:
Alungthou jah’in hichenu chu ajui tan, Bongchal in aki tha nading mun ajot bang le thang a-ohsa sakhi bang in numeinu nung chu ajuitai.
23 and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for [his] life.
Sakhi golpai thalpin alungchang athil pai bang leh, vacha banga ahinkho beina ding akihet phah tapon ahi.
24 Now then, [my] son, listen to me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Hijeh chun ka chapate ho kathusei hohi lunglut tah in ngaijun, chule kakam sunga kon thu kisei hohi ngai phauvin.
25 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways:
Hiche numeinu lam akhun nalungthim lamvai sah hih in, amanu lam lhahna tinchanga jong nache lou hel ding ahi.
26 for she has wounded and cast down many, and those whom she has slain are innumerable.
Ajeh chu amanu hin pasal tampi manthahna aso-ahitan, sepai thahat lai jong asuhgam ahitai.
27 Her house is the way of hell, leading down to the chambers of death. (Sheol h7585)
Amanu in jotna lampi hi noimi gam lampi ahin, thina lhankhuh sunga kilhung lut lampi ahi. (Sheol h7585)
