1 Peter 1
1 Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ, to [the] sojourners of [the] dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
Petrus, Apostel Jesu Christi, an die auserwählten Fremdlinge in der Diaspora von Pontus, Galatien, Kappadozien, Asien und Bithynien.
2 elect according to [the] foreknowledge of God [the] Father, by sanctification of [the] Spirit, unto [the] obedience and sprinkling of [the] blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
Erwählt seid ihr, weil Gott, der Vater, es vorhergewußt, geheiligt durch den Geist, damit ihr gehorsam seid und mit dem Blute Jesu Christi besprengt werdet. In reicher Fülle werde Gnade euch zuteil und Friede!
3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his great mercy, has begotten us again to a living hope through [the] resurrection of Jesus Christ from among [the] dead,
Gepriesen sei der Gott und Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus. In seiner großen Huld hat er uns wiedergeboren zu einer lebendigen Hoffnung durch die Auferstehung Jesu Christi von den Toten;
4 to an incorruptible and undefiled and unfading inheritance, reserved in [the] heavens for you,
zu einem unvergänglichen, unbefleckten und unverwelklichen Erbe, das in den Himmeln für euch aufbewahrt ist,
5 who are kept guarded by [the] power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in [the] last time.
für euch, die ihr in Gottes Allmacht behütet werdet des Glaubens wegen für das Heil, das in der Endzeit offenkundig werden soll.
6 Wherein ye exult, for a little while at present, if needed, put to grief by various trials,
Dann werdet ihr darob frohlocken, indes ihr jetzt, falls es nötig ist, in mannigfachen Prüfungen auf kurze Zeit Betrübnis habt.
7 that the proving of your faith, much more precious than of gold which perishes, though it be proved by fire, be found to praise and glory and honour in [the] revelation of Jesus Christ:
Dadurch soll ja euer Glaube nur erprobt und wertvoller erfunden werden als das vergängliche Gold, das im Feuer geläutert wird. Ihr sollt so zum Lob und Preis und Ruhme dienen bei der Offenbarung Jesu Christi.
8 whom, having not seen, ye love; on whom [though] not now looking, but believing, ye exult with joy unspeakable and filled with [the] glory,
Ihn liebt ihr, obwohl ihr ihn nicht gesehen habt, ihr glaubt an ihn, ohne ihn jetzt zu schauen. Deswegen werdet ihr in unaussprechlicher, verklärter Freude auch frohlocken,
9 receiving the end of your faith, [the] salvation of [your] souls.
wenn ihr das Ziel eures Glaubens erlangt habt, das Heil der Seelen.
10 Concerning which salvation prophets, who have prophesied of the grace towards you, sought out and searched out;
Nach diesem Heile suchten forschend die Propheten, die von der Gnade weissagten, die euch zuteil geworden ist.
11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ which [was] in them pointed out, testifying before of the sufferings which [belonged] to Christ, and the glories after these.
Sie forschten nach dem Wann und Wie, auf die sie der Geist Christi, den sie besaßen, hinwies, da er die Leiden Christi vorhergesagt hat und die darauf folgende Verklärung.
12 To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves but to you they ministered those things, which have now been announced to you by those who have declared to you the glad tidings by [the] Holy Spirit, sent from heaven, which angels desire to look into.
Es wurde ihnen ja geoffenbart, daß sie nicht sich, sondern euch zu Dienste seien mit dem, was von den Predigern des Evangeliums euch jetzt verkündet wird in Kraft des vom Himmel ausgesandten Heiligen Geistes, worin Engel einen Einblick haben möchten.
13 Wherefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, [be] sober [and] hope with perfect stedfastness in the grace [which will be] brought to you at [the] revelation of Jesus Christ;
Umgürtet also die Lenden eures Geistes und seid besonnen, setzet gänzlich eure Hoffnung auf die Gnade, die bei der Offenbarung Jesu Christi euch zuteil werden wird.
14 as children of obedience, not conformed to [your] former lusts in your ignorance;
Folgsamen Kindern gleich, gestaltet euer Leben nicht nach den früheren Lüsten, wie in den Zeiten der Unwissenheit.
15 but as he who has called you is holy, be ye also holy in all [your] conversation;
Vielmehr wie der, der euch berufen hat, heilig ist, so sollt auch ihr in eurem ganzen Lebenswandel heilig werden.
16 because it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy.
Darum steht ja auch geschrieben: "Seid heilig, wie ich heilig bin."
17 And if ye invoke as Father him who, without regard of persons, judges according to the work of each, pass your time of sojourn in fear,
Und wenn ihr den als Vater anrufet, der ohne Ansehen der Person jeden nach seinem Werke richtet, so führt einen Lebenswandel voll von Gottesfurcht, solange ihr hier als Fremdlinge verweilt.
18 knowing that ye have been redeemed, not by corruptible [things, as] silver or gold, from your vain conversation handed down from [your] fathers,
Ihr wißt ja, daß ihr nicht um Vergängliches, um Silber oder Gold, losgekauft seid von eurem törichten, von den Vätern her ererbten Lebenswandel,
19 but by precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, [the blood] of Christ,
sondern um das kostbare Blut Christi als eines fehlerlosen und makellosen Lammes.
20 foreknown indeed before [the] foundation of [the] world, but who has been manifested at the end of times for your sakes,
Erwählt war er ja schon vor Grundlegung der Welt; erschienen aber ist er euretwegen erst am Ende der Zeiten.
21 who by him do believe on God, who has raised him from among [the] dead and given him glory, that your faith and hope should be in God.
Durch diesen glaubt ihr an Gott, der ihn von den Toten erweckt und ihm auch Herrlichkeit verliehen hat. So ist nun euer Glaube auch Hoffnung auf Gott.
22 Having purified your souls by obedience to the truth to unfeigned brotherly love, love one another out of a pure heart fervently;
Durch Folgsamkeit der Wahrheit gegenüber weihet eure Seelen zu beharrlicher Bruderliebe ein und habt von Herzen einander innig lieb.
23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by [the] living and abiding word of God. (aiōn g165)
Ihr seid ja nicht aus einem vergänglichen Samen wiedergeboren, sondern aus einem unvergänglichen, durch das Wort Gottes, das lebendig und beständig ist. (aiōn g165)
24 Because all flesh [is] as grass, and all its glory as [the] flower of grass. The grass has withered and [its] flower has fallen;
"Denn alles Fleisch ist wie Gras, und alle seine Herrlichkeit wie des Grases Blüte; das Gras verdorrt, und seine Blüte welkt;
