Galatians 5

1 Stand fast, and be not held again under the yoke of bondage.

ഈ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനായിട്ടാണ് ക്രിസ്തു നമ്മെ സ്വതന്ത്രരാക്കിയത്. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ അടിമനുകത്തിൻകീഴിൽ നാം വീണ്ടും അകപ്പെട്ടുപോകാതെ സ്വതന്ത്രരായി ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കുക.

2 Behold, I Paul tell you, that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

എന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കൂ! പൗലോസെന്ന ഞാനാണ് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നത്, “നിങ്ങൾ പരിച്ഛേദനമേൽക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾക്കു യാതൊരു പ്രയോജനവും ഇല്ല.”

3 And I testify again to every man circumcising himself, that he is a debtor to the whole law.

പരിച്ഛേദനത്തിനു വിധേയരാകുന്ന എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരെയും ഞാൻ വീണ്ടും ഓർമിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്, അവർ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ സർവനിബന്ധനകളും പാലിക്കാൻ ബാധ്യസ്ഥരാണെന്നാണ്.

4 You are made void of Christ, you who are justified in the law: you are fallen from grace.

ന്യായപ്രമാണം പാലിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടാൻ പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങൾ, ക്രിസ്തുവുമായുള്ള ബന്ധം വിച്ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരും ദൈവകൃപയിൽനിന്ന് വീണുപോയവരുമാണ്.

5 For we in spirit, by faith, wait for the hope of justice.

എന്നാൽ, ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വാസത്താൽ പ്രത്യാശ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നീതീകരണം ലഭിക്കാനായി, ദൈവാത്മസഹായത്താൽ ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision: but faith that worketh by charity.

ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ വിശ്വാസം അർപ്പിച്ചവർക്ക്, പരിച്ഛേദനവും പരിച്ഛേദനമില്ലായ്മയും ഒരു വ്യത്യാസവും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നില്ല; മറിച്ച് സ്നേഹത്തിലൂടെയുള്ള വിശ്വാസംമാത്രമേ പ്രവർത്തനക്ഷമമാകുകയുള്ളൂ.

7 You did run well, who hath hindered you, that you should not obey the truth?

നിങ്ങൾ നന്നായി മുന്നേറിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ സത്യം പിൻതുടരുന്നതിൽനിന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ തടഞ്ഞതാരാണ്?

8 This persuasion is not from him that calleth you.

നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ച ദൈവമല്ലല്ലോ അപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തത്.

9 A little leaven corrupteth the whole lump.

“അൽപ്പം പുളിപ്പ്, കുഴച്ച മാവിനെ മുഴുവനും പുളിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.”

10 I have confidence in you in the Lord: that you will not be of another mind: but he that troubleth you, shall bear the judgment, whosoever he be.

നാം കർത്താവിൽ ഒന്നായതിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിക്കുകയില്ല എന്ന ആത്മവിശ്വാസം എനിക്കുണ്ട്. നിങ്ങളെ ആശയക്കുഴപ്പത്തിലാക്കുന്നയാൾ ആരായിരുന്നാലും അയാൾ ദൈവശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കുകതന്നെ ചെയ്യും.

11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? Then is the scandal of the cross made void.

സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, എന്റെ പ്രസംഗം ഇപ്പോഴും പരിച്ഛേദനം ഏൽക്കണം എന്നതായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോഴും ഉപദ്രവിക്കപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നോ? അങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ക്രൂശിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കുമ്പോൾ യാതൊരുവിധ വിദ്വേഷവും ഉണ്ടാകുമായിരുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

12 I would they were even cut off, who trouble you.

പരിച്ഛേദനം പ്രസംഗിച്ച് നിങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ആശയക്കുഴപ്പമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നവരുടെ ലിംഗം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയെങ്കിൽ എന്നു ഞാൻ ആശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

13 For you, brethren, have been called unto liberty: only make not liberty an occasion to the flesh, but by charity of the spirit serve one another.

സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, പരിപൂർണസ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കാനാണ് നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം നിങ്ങളിലെ പാപപ്രകൃതത്തെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്താൻ അനുവദിക്കാതെ, സ്നേഹത്തിൽ പരസ്പരം ദാസരായി ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുക.

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

“നീ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെതന്നെ നിന്റെ അയൽവാസിയെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുക” എന്ന ഒരൊറ്റ കൽപ്പന പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ സർവന്യായപ്രമാണവും പൂർത്തീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

15 But if you bite and devour one another; take heed you be not consumed one of another.

നിങ്ങൾ പരസ്പരം മുറിവേൽപ്പിക്കുകയും കടിച്ചുകീറുകയുംചെയ്താൽ, ഓർക്കുക! നിങ്ങൾ പരസ്പരം നശിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്!

16 I say then, walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു: യാതൊരുവിധത്തിലും പാപത്തിന്റെ ഇച്ഛകൾക്ക് വശംവദരാകാതെ ദൈവാത്മനിയന്ത്രണത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുക.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the spirit: and the spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary one to another: so that you do not the things that you would.

പാപാസക്തി ദൈവാത്മാഭിലാഷത്തിനും ദൈവാത്മാഭിലാഷം പാപാസക്തിക്കും വിരുദ്ധമാണ്. ഇവ പരസ്പരം ശത്രുക്കളാണ്; അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കഴിയുന്നുമില്ല.

18 But if you are led by the spirit, you are not under the law.

നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവാത്മാവിനാൽ നയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന് അധീനരല്ല.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are fornication, uncleanness, immodesty, luxury,

മനുഷ്യസഹജമായ പാപപ്രവൃത്തികൾ, ലൈംഗികാധർമം, അസാന്മാർഗികത, കുത്തഴിഞ്ഞ ജീവിതരീതി;

20 Idolatry, witchcrafts, enmities, contentions, emulations, wraths, quarrels, dissensions, sects,

വിഗ്രഹാരാധന, ദുർമന്ത്രവാദം; പക, കലഹം, ജാരശങ്ക, കലാപം, സ്വാർഥത, ദ്വന്ദ്വപക്ഷം, ഭിന്നത,

21 Envies, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like. Of the which I foretell you, as I have foretold to you, that they who do such things shall not obtain the kingdom of God.

അസൂയ, മദ്യപാനം, അഴിഞ്ഞാട്ടം തുടങ്ങിയവയെന്നു വ്യക്തമാണ്. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർ ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് മുമ്പേ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുപോലെ വീണ്ടും ആവർത്തിക്കുകയാണ്.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity,

എന്നാൽ, ആത്മാവിന്റെ ഫലം, സ്നേഹം, ആനന്ദം, സമാധാനം, ദീർഘക്ഷമ, ദയ, ഉദാരത, വിശ്വസ്തത,

23 Mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity. Against such there is no law.

സൗമ്യത, ആത്മനിയന്ത്രണം എന്നിവയാണ്. ഇവയ്ക്കെതിരായി ഒരു ന്യായപ്രമാണവുമില്ല.

24 And they that are Christ’s, have crucified their flesh, with the vices and concupiscences.

എന്നാൽ, ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനുള്ളവർ മനുഷ്യസഹജമായ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അതിന്റെ എല്ലാവിധ ഭോഗവിലാസങ്ങളോടുംകൂടി ക്രൂശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

നാം ആത്മാവിനാൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നവരായതുകൊണ്ട് നമ്മുടെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാ മേഖലകളും ആത്മനിയന്ത്രിതമായിരിക്കണം.

26 Let us not be made desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying on another.

നാം അഹംഭാവികളായി പരസ്പരം പ്രകോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നവരും മത്സരിക്കുന്നവരും ആകരുത്.
