Romans 6
1 So what shall we say? Shall we continue in the sin so that the grace may abound?
CHE diremo adunque? rimarremo noi nel peccato, acciocchè la grazia abbondi?
2 Of course not! How can we who died to sin keep on living in it?
[Così] non sia: [noi], che siam morti al peccato, come viveremo ancora in esso?
3 Or are you unaware that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
Ignorate voi, che noi tutti, che siamo stati battezzati in Gesù Cristo, siamo stati battezzati nella sua morte?
4 Therefore, we were buried with Him by means of that baptism into that death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by means of the Father's glory, we also should walk in newness of life.
Noi siamo adunque stati con lui seppelliti per lo battesimo, a morte; acciocchè, siccome Cristo è risuscitato da' morti per la gloria del Padre, noi ancora simigliantemente camminiamo in novità di vita.
5 Now if we have become united with Him in His death, we will certainly be in His resurrection as well;
Perciocchè, se siamo stati innestati con [Cristo] alla conformità della sua morte, certo lo saremo ancora a [quella] della [sua] risurrezione.
6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him in order that the body of the sin might be set aside, so that we no longer be enslaved to that sin—
Sapendo questo: che il nostro vecchio uomo è stato con [lui] crocifisso, acciocchè il corpo del peccato sia annullato, affinchè noi non serviamo più al peccato.
7 because he who has died has been released from that sin.
Poichè colui che è morto è sciolto dal peccato.
8 Now since we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him,
Ora, se siam morti con Cristo, noi crediamo che altresì viveremo con lui.
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, cannot die again; death can no longer master Him
Sapendo che Cristo, essendo risuscitato da' morti, non muore più; la morte non signoreggia più sopra lui.
10 —the death He died He died to sin once for all, while the life He lives He lives to God.
Perciocchè, in quanto egli è morto, è morto al peccato una volta; ma in quanto egli vive, vive a Dio.
11 Thus you also, consider yourselves to be dead indeed to the sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Così ancora voi reputate che ben siete morti al peccato; ma che vivete a Dio, in Cristo Gesù, nostro Signore.
12 Therefore do not let the sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey it with the body's evil desires
Non regni adunque il peccato nel vostro corpo mortale, per ubbidirgli nelle sue concupiscenze.
13 —do not present any part of your body to sin as an implement for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body parts to God as implements for righteousness.
E non prestate le vostre membra [ad essere] armi d'iniquità al peccato; anzi presentate voi stessi a Dio, come di morti [fatti] viventi; e le vostre membra [ad essere] armi di giustizia a Dio.
14 Really, sin must not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace.
Perciocchè il peccato non vi signoreggerà; poichè non siete sotto la legge, ma sotto la grazia.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Of course not!
Che dunque? peccheremo noi, perciocchè non siamo sotto la legge, ma sotto la grazia? [Così] non sia.
16 Do you not know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey them as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether of sin into death, or of obedience into righteousness?
Non sapete voi, che a chiunque vi rendete servi per ubbidirgli, siete servi a colui a cui ubbidite, o di peccato a morte, o d'ubbidienza a giustizia?
17 But thanks be to God that although you used to be the slaves of the sin you wholeheartedly obeyed that pattern of doctrine into which you were delivered.
Ora, ringraziato sia Iddio, ch'eravate servi del peccato; ma avete di cuore ubbidito alla forma della dottrina, nella quale siete stati tramutati.
18 So having been emancipated from the sin, you became enslaved to the righteousness.
Ora, essendo stati francati dal peccato, voi siete stati fatti servi della giustizia.
19 I continue to speak on a human level because of the weakness of your flesh. Now just as you used to present your body parts as slaves to uncleanness, and to ever increasing lawlessness, so now present your body parts as slaves to righteousness with a view to sanctification.
(Io parlo nella maniera degli uomini, per la debolezza della vostra carne.) Perciocchè, siccome già prestaste le vostre membra [ad esser] serve alla bruttura, ed all'iniquità, per [commetter] l'iniquità; così ora dovete prestare le vostre membra [ad esser] serve alla giustizia, a santificazione.
20 For when you were slaves to the sin, you were ‘free’ from the righteousness.
Perciocchè, allora che voi eravate servi del peccato, voi eravate franchi della giustizia.
21 So what ‘fruit’ did you have at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? The end of those things is death!
Qual frutto adunque avevate allora nelle cose, delle quali ora vi vergognate? poichè la fin d'esse [è] la morte.
22 But now, having been emancipated from the sin, and having become enslaved to God, you have your ‘fruit’ into sanctification—and the end is eternal life! (aiōnios g166)
Ma ora, essendo stati francati dal peccato, e fatti servi a Dio, voi avete il vostro frutto a santificazione, ed alla fine vita eterna. (aiōnios g166)
