Esther 7
1 So the King and Haman came to banket with the Queene Ester.
El rey y Amán fueron a comer con la reina Ester.
2 And the King said againe vnto Ester on the second day at the banket of wine, What is thy petition, Queene Ester, that it may be giue thee? and what is thy request? It shalbe euen perfourmed vnto the halfe of the kingdome.
Y al segundo día, mientras bebían vino en el banquete, el rey volvió a preguntar a Ester: ¿Cuál es tu petición, reina Ester? Pues te será concedida. ¿Cuál es tu demanda? ¡Hasta la mitad del reino se te dará!
3 And Ester the Queene answered, and said, If I haue found fauour in thy sight, O King, and if it please the King, let my life be giuen me at my petition, and my people at my request.
Entonces la reina Ester respondió: Oh rey, si hallé gracia ante ti, y si place al rey, ¡concédase mi vida por mi petición y la de mi pueblo por mi demanda!
4 For we are solde, I, and my people, to be destroyed, to be slayne and to perish: but if we were solde for seruants, and for handmaides, I woulde haue helde my tongue: although the aduersarie could not recompense the Kings losse.
¡Porque yo y mi pueblo fuimos vendidos para ser destruidos, asesinados y exterminados! Si como esclavos y esclavas fuéramos vendidos, yo habría callado, porque aun tal calamidad no sería digna de la molestia al rey.
5 Then King Ahashuerosh answered, and said vnto the Queene Ester, Who is he? and where is he that presumeth to doe thus?
Y al tomar la palabra, el rey Asuero preguntó a la reina Ester: ¿Quién es y dónde está el que se atreve en su corazón a hacer tal cosa?
6 And Ester said, The aduersarie and enemie is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afrayde before the King and the Queene.
Ester dijo: ¡El adversario y enemigo es este perverso Amán! Y Amán quedó aterrorizado delante del rey y de la reina.
7 And the King arose from ye banket of wine in his wrath, and went into the palace garden: but Haman stood vp, to make request for his life to the Queene Ester: for he sawe that there was a mischiefe prepared for him of the King.
Entonces el rey se levantó enfurecido del banquete y se fue al jardín del palacio, pero Amán se quedó para rogar a la reina Ester por su vida, porque vio que el mal ya estaba determinado contra él de parte del rey.
8 And when the King came againe out of the palace garden, into the house where they dranke wine, Haman was fallen vpon the bed whereon Ester sate! therefore the King sayd, Will he force the Queene also before me in the house? As the worde went out of the Kings mouth, they couered Hamans face.
Cuando el rey volvió del jardín del palacio al lugar donde bebía el vino, ¡ahí estaba Amán caído encima del reclinatorio en el cual estaba recostada Ester! Por lo cual el rey exclamó: ¿Querrá también violar a la reina en mi presencia y en mi propio palacio? Mientras hablaba el rey, los servidores cubrieron el rostro de Amán.
9 And Harbonah one of the eunuches, sayde in the presence of the King, Beholde, there standeth yet the tree in Hamans house fiftie cubites hie, which Haman had prepared for Mordecai, that spake good for the King. Then the King sayd, Hang him thereon.
Harbona, uno de los servidores del palacio que estaban en presencia del rey, dijo: ¡Ahí está precisamente colocada en casa de Amán una horca de 22,5 metros de altura, la cual preparó Amán para Mardoqueo, quien habló en provecho del rey! Y el rey ordenó: ¡Cuélguenlo en ella!
10 So they hanged Haman on the tree, that he had prepared for Mordecai: then was the Kings wrath pacified.
Colgaron a Amán en la horca que él preparó para Mardoqueo. Y se aplacó la ira del rey.
