Exodus 16

1 Afterward all the Congregation of the children of Israel departed from Elim, and came to the wildernes of Sin, (which is betweene Elim and Sinai) the fiftenth day of the second moneth after their departing out of ye land of Egypt.

۱ پس تمامی جماعت بنی‌اسرائیل ازایلیم کوچ کرده، به صحرای سین که درمیان ایلیم و سینا است در روز پانزدهم از ماه دوم، بعد از بیرون آمدن ایشان از زمین مصر، رسیدند.

2 And the whole Congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wildernesse.

۲ و تمامی جماعت بنی‌اسرائیل در آن صحرا برموسی و هارون شکایت کردند.

3 For the children of Israel sayde to them, Oh that we had dyed by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when wee sate by the flesh pots, when wee ate bread our bellies full: for yee haue brought vs out into this wildernesse, to kill this whole company with famine.

۳ و بنی‌اسرائیل بدیشان گفتند: «کاش که در زمین مصر به‌دست خداوند مرده بودیم، وقتی که نزد دیگهای گوشت می‌نشستیم و نان را سیر می‌خوردیم، زیراکه ما را بدین صحرا بیرون آوردید، تا تمامی این جماعت را به گرسنگی بکشید.»

4 Then sayd the Lord vnto Moses, Behold, I wil cause bread to rayne from heauen to you, and the people shall goe out, and gather that that is sufficient for euery day, that I may proue them, whether they wil walke in my Law or no.

۴ آنگاه خداوند به موسی گفت: «همانا من نان از آسمان برای شما بارانم، و قوم رفته، کفایت هرروز را در روزش گیرند، تا ایشان را امتحان کنم که بر شریعت من رفتار می‌کنند یا نه.

5 But the sixt daye they shall prepare that, which they shall bring home, and it shalbe twise as much as they gather dayly.

۵ و واقع خواهد شد در روز ششم، که چون آنچه را که آورده باشند درست نمایند، همانا دوچندان آن خواهدبود که هر روز برمی چیدند.»

6 Then Moses and Aaron sayde vnto all the children of Israel, At euen ye shall know, that the Lord brought you out of the land of Egypt:

۶ و موسی و هارون به همه بنی‌اسرائیل گفتند: «شامگاهان خواهیددانست که خداوند شما را از زمین مصر بیرون آورده است.

7 And in the morning ye shall see the glorie of the Lord: for he hath heard your grudgings against the Lord: and what are we that ye haue murmured against vs?

۷ و بامدادان جلال خداوند راخواهید دید، زیرا که او شکایتی را که بر خداوندکرده‌اید شنیده است، و ما چیستیم که بر ماشکایت می‌کنید؟»

8 Againe Moses sayd, At euen shall the Lord giue you flesh to eate, and in the morning your fil of bread: for the Lord hath heard your murmurings, which ye murmure against him: for what are we? your murmurings are not against vs, but against the Lord.

۸ و موسی گفت: «این خواهدبود چون خداوند، شامگاه شما را گوشت دهد تابخورید، و بامداد نان، تا سیر شوید، زیرا خداوندشکایتهای شما را که بر وی کرده‌اید شنیده است، و ما چیستیم؟ بر ما نی، بلکه بر خداوند شکایت نموده‌اید.»

9 And Moses sayd to Aaron, Say vnto all the Congregation of the children of Israel, Draw neere before the Lord: for he hath heard your murmurings.

۹ و موسی به هارون گفت: «به تمامی جماعت بنی‌اسرائیل بگو به حضور خداوندنزدیک بیایید، زیرا که شکایتهای شما را شنیده است.»

10 Now as Aaron spake vnto the whole Congregation of the children of Israel, they looked toward the wildernesse, and beholde, the glory of the Lord appeared in a cloude.

۱۰ و واقع شد که چون هارون به تمامی جماعت بنی‌اسرائیل سخن گفت، به سوی صحرانگریستند و اینک جلال خداوند در ابر ظاهر شد.

11 (For the Lord had spoken vnto Moses, saying,

۱۱ و خداوند موسی را خطاب کرده، گفت:

12 I haue heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: tell them therefore, and say, At euen ye shall eate flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord your God)

۱۲ «شکایتهای بنی‌اسرائیل را شنیده‌ام، پس ایشان را خطاب کرده، بگو: در عصر گوشت خواهید خورد، و بامداد از نان سیر خواهید شد تابدانید که من یهوه خدای شما هستم.»

13 And so at euen the quailes came and couered the campe: and in the morning the dewe lay round about the hoste.

۱۳ و واقع شد که در عصر، سلوی برآمده، لشکرگاه راپوشانیدند، و بامدادان شبنم گرداگرد اردونشست.

14 And when the dewe that was fallen was ascended, beholde, a small round thing was vpon the face of the wildernes, small as the hoare frost on the earth.

۱۴ و چون شبنمی که نشسته بودبرخاست، اینک بر روی صحرا چیزی دقیق، مدور و خرد، مثل ژاله بر زمین بود.

15 And when the children of Israel sawe it, they sayde one to another, It is MAN, for they wist not what it was. And Moses sayd vnto them, This is the breade which the Lord hath giuen you to eate.

۱۵ و چون بنی‌اسرائیل این را دیدند به یکدیگر گفتند که این من است، زیرا که ندانستند چه بود. موسی به ایشان گفت: «این آن نان است که خداوند به شمامی دهد تا بخورید.

16 This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded: gather of it euery man according to his eating an Omer for a man according to the number of your persons: euery man shall take for them which are in his tent.

۱۶ این است امری که خداوندفرموده است، که هر کس به قدر خوراک خود ازاین بگیرد، یعنی یک عومر برای هر نفر به حسب شماره نفوس خویش، هر شخص برای کسانی که در خیمه او باشند بگیرد.»

17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some lesse.

۱۷ پس بنی‌اسرائیل چنین کردند، بعضی زیاد و بعضی کم برچیدند.

18 And when they did measure it with an Omer, hee that had gathered much, had nothing ouer, and he that had gathered litle, had no lacke: so euery man gathered according to his eating.

۱۸ اما چون به عومر پیمودند، آنکه زیاد برچیده بود، زیاده نداشت، و آنکه کم برچیده بود، کم نداشت، بلکه هر کس به قدر خوراکش برچیده بود.

19 Moses then said vnto them, Let no man reserue thereof till morning.

۱۹ و موسی بدیشان گفت: «زنهار کسی چیزی از این تا صبح نگاه ندارد.»

20 Notwithstanding they obeyed not Moses: but some of them reserued of it till morning, and it was full of wormes, and stanke: therefore Moses was angrie with them.

۲۰ لکن به موسی گوش ندادند، بلکه بعضی چیزی از آن تا صبح نگاه داشتند. و کرمها بهم رسانیده، متعفن گردید، و موسی بدیشان خشمناک شد.

21 And they gathered it euery morning, euery man according to his eating: for when the heate of the sunne came, it was melted.

۲۱ و هر صبح، هر کس به قدر خوراک خودبرمی چید، و چون آفتاب گرم می‌شد، می‌گداخت.

22 And the sixt day they gathered twise so much bread, two Omers for one man: then all the rulers of the Congregation came and told Moses.

۲۲ و واقع شد در روز ششم که نان مضاعف، یعنی برای هر نفری دو عومر برچیدند. پس همه روسای جماعت آمده، موسی را خبردادند.

23 And he answered them, This is that, which the Lord hath sayde, To morowe is the rest of the holy Sabbath vnto the Lord: bake that to day which ye wil bake, and seethe that which ye wil seethe, and all that remaineth, lay it vp to be kept till the morning for you.

۲۳ او بدیشان گفت: «این است آنچه خداوند گفت، که فردا آرامی است، و سبت مقدس خداوند. پس آنچه بر آتش باید پخت بپزید، و آنچه در آب باید جوشانید بجوشانید، وآنچه باقی باشد، برای خود ذخیره کرده، بجهت صبح نگاه دارید.»

24 And they laied it vp till the morning, as Moses bade, and it stanke not, neyther was there any worme therein.

۲۴ پس آن را تا صبح ذخیره کردند، چنانکه موسی فرموده بود، و نه متعفن گردید و نه کرم در آن پیدا شد.

25 Then Moses sayde, Eate that to day: for to day is the Sabbath vnto the Lord: to day ye shall not finde it in the fielde.

۲۵ و موسی گفت: «امروز این را بخورید زیرا که امروز سبت خداوند است، و در این‌روز آن را در صحرانخواهید یافت.

26 Sixe dayes shall yee gather it, but in the seuenth day is the Sabbath: in it there shalbe none.

۲۶ شش روز آن را برچینید، وروز هفتمین، سبت است. در آن نخواهد بود.»

27 Notwithstanding, there went out some of the people in ye seuenth day for to gather, and they found none.

۲۷ و واقع شد که در روز هفتم، بعضی از قوم برای برچیدن بیرون رفتند، اما نیافتند.

28 And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Howe long refuse yee to keepe my commandements, and my lawes?

۲۸ و خداوند به موسی گفت: «تا به کی از نگاه داشتن وصایا وشریعت من ابا می‌نمایید؟

29 Beholde, howe the Lord hath giuen you the Sabbath: therefore he giueth you the sixt day bread for two dayes: tary therefore euery man in his place: let no man goe out of his place the seuenth day.

۲۹ ببینید چونکه خداوند سبت را به شما بخشیده است، از این سبب در روز ششم، نان دو روز را به شما می‌دهد، پس هر کس در جای خود بنشیند و در روز هفتم هیچ‌کس از مکانش بیرون نرود.»

30 So the people rested the seuenth day.

۳۰ پس قوم درروز هفتمین آرام گرفتند.

31 And the house of Israel called the name of it, MAN. and it was like to coriander seede, but white: and the taste of it was like vnto wafers made with hony.

۳۱ و خاندان اسرائیل آن را من نامیدند، و آن مثل تخم گشنیز سفید بود، و طعمش مثل قرصهای عسلی.

32 And Moses said, This is that which the Lord hath commanded, Fill an Omer of it, to keepe it for your posteritie: that they may see the bread wherewith I haue fed you in wildernesse, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.

۳۲ و موسی گفت: «این امری است که خداوند فرموده است که عومری از آن پرکنی، تا در نسلهای شما نگاه داشته شود، تا آن نان را ببینند که در صحرا، وقتی که شما را از زمین مصر بیرون آوردم، آن را به شما خورانیدم.»

33 Moses also said to Aaron, Take a pot and put an Omer full of MAN therein, and set it before the Lord to be kept for your posteritie.

۳۳ پس موسی به هارون گفت: «ظرفی بگیر، وعومری پر از من در آن بنه و آن را به حضورخداوند بگذار، تا در نسلهای شما نگاه داشته شود.»

34 As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron laied it vp before the Testimonie to be kept.

۳۴ چنانکه خداوند به موسی‌امر فرموده بود، همچنان هارون آن را پیش (تابوت ) شهادت گذاشت تا نگاه داشته شود.

35 And the children of Israel did eate MAN fourtie yeres, vntill they came vnto a land inhabited: they did eate MAN vntill they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.

۳۵ و بنی‌اسرائیل مدت چهل سال من را می‌خوردند، تا به زمین آبادرسیدند، یعنی تا به‌سرحد زمین کنعان داخل شدند، خوراک ایشان من بود.

36 The Omer is the tenth part of the Ephah.

۳۶ و اما عومر، ده‌یک ایفه است.
