Jeremiah 13

1 Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.

Kështu më ka thënë Zoti: “Shko të më blesh një brez prej liri dhe vëre mbi ijët e tua, por mos e zhyt në ujë”.

2 So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.

Kështu unë bleva brezin, sipas fjalëve të Zotit dhe e vura mbi ijët e mia.

3 And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,

Pastaj fjala e Zotit m’u drejtua për herë të dytë, duke thënë:

4 Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.

“Merr brezin që ke blerë dhe që e ke mbi ijët e tua, çohu, shko në drejtim të Eufratit dhe aty fshihe në të çarën e një shkëmbi”.

5 So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.

Unë shkova dhe e fsheha pranë Eufratit, ashtu si më kishte porositur Zoti.

6 And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

Mbas shumë ditësh ndodhi që Zoti më tha: “Çohu, shko në drejtim të Eufratit dhe merr aty brezin që të kisha urdhëruar të fshihje”.

7 Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.

Unë shkova në drejtim të Eufratit, gërmova dhe mora brezin nga vendi ku e kisha fshehur. Por brezi ishte kalbur dhe nuk vlente më për asgjë.

8 Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

Atëherë Zoti më drejtoi fjalën, duke thënë:

9 Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.

“Kështu thotë Zoti: “Në këtë mënyrë unë do të shkatërroj kryelartësinë e Judës dhe kryelartësinë e madhe të Jeruzalemit.

10 This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.

Ky popull i keq, që nuk pranon të dëgjojë fjalët e mia, që ecën kryelartë sipas zemrës së tij dhe u shkon pas perëndive të tjera për tu shërbyer dhe për të rënë përmbys para tyre, do të bëhet si ky brez që nuk vlen më për asgjë.

11 For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.

sepse ashtu si brezi përputhet me ijët e njeriut, kështu unë kisha bërë që të përputhej me mua tërë shtëpia e Izraelit dhe tërë shtëpia e Judës”, thotë Zoti, me qëllim që të ishin populli im për famën, lavdinë dhe zulmin tim, por nuk deshën të më dëgjojnë””.

12 Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?

“Prandaj ti do t’u thuash atyre këtë fjalë: “Kështu thotë Zoti, Perëndia i Izraelit: Çdo poç do të mbushet me verë”. Në rast se më vonë do të të thonë: “A nuk e dimë vallë që çdo poç mbushet me verë?”,

13 Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.

ti do t’u përgjigjesh atyre: “Kështu thotë Zoti: Ja, unë do t’i deh tërë banorët e këtij vendi: mbretërit që ulen në fronin e Davidit, priftërinjtë, profetët dhe tërë banorët e Jeruzalemit.

14 And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.

Do t’i copëtoj njërin kundër tjetrit, etërit dhe bijtë së bashku””, thotë Zoti. “Nuk do të kem mëshirë, nuk do t’i fal, nuk do të kem asnjë dhembshuri që të më pengojë t’i shkatërroj”.

15 Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.

Dëgjoni dhe vini veshin: Mos t’ju rritet mendja, sepse Zoti foli.

16 Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.

I jepni lavdi Zotit, Perëndisë tuaj, para se të sjellë terrin dhe para se këmbët tuaja të pengohen në malet e mbështjella në muzg, sepse ndërsa ju prisni dritën, ai e ndërron në hije të vdekjes dhe e ndryshon në errësirë të thellë.

17 But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.

Por në rast se nuk e dëgjoni këtë, shpirti im do të qajë në fshehtësi për shkak të kryelartësisë suaj, sytë e mi do të qajnë parreshtur dhe do të derdhin lot, sepse kopeja e Zotit do të çohet në robëri.

18 Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.

Thuaji mbretit dhe mbretëreshës nënë: “Uluni më poshtë, sepse sundimi juaj, kurora e lavdisë suaj, do të bjerë poshtë”.

19 The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.

Qytetet e jugut janë të mbyllura dhe askush nuk do t’i hapë; tërë Juda është çuar në robëri, është çuar e tëra në robëri.

20 Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?

Ngrini sytë tuaj dhe shikoni ata që vijnë nga veriu; ku është kopeja që të ishte besuar, delet e tua të bukura?

21 What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?

Çfarë do të thuash kur të të ndëshkojë? Por ti vetë u ke mësuar atyre të jenë të parët dhe sunduesit e tu. A nuk do të të zënë dhembjet si një grua që është duke lindur?

22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.

Dhe në rast se do të thuash në zemrën tënde: “Përse më ndodhin këto gjëra?”. Për shkak të përmasës së paudhësisë sate cepat e rrobës sate do të zbulohen dhe thembrat e tua do të duken lakuriq.

23 Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.

A mundet një Etiopias të ndryshojë lëkurën e tij o një tigër të këmbejë lëkurën me vijëza? Në të njëjtën mënyrë ju, që jeni mësuar të bëni të keqen, a do të mund të bënit të mirën?

24 Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.

“Prandaj do t’i shpërndaj si byku që e merr era e shkretëtirës.

25 This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.

Ky është fati yt, pjesa që mata për ty”, thotë Zoti, “sepse më ke harruar dhe i ke besuar gënjeshtrës.

26 Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.

Prandaj do të ngre edhe unë cepat e rrobës sime mbi fytyrë, në mënyrë që të duket turpi yt.

27 I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?

Kam parë shkeljet e tua të kurorës, hingëllimat e tua, shthurjen e kurvërisë sate, gjërat e neveritshme të kryera në kodra dhe në fusha. Mjerë ti, o Jeruzalem! Për sa kohë akoma do të mbetesh i pëgërë?”.
