Jeremiah 13
1 Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.
So sprach der Herr zu mir: "Auf! Kauf dir einen Leinengürtel! Leg ihn um deine Hüften! Doch bring ihn nicht ins Wasser!"
2 So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.
Da kaufte ich den Gürtel nach des Herrn Geheiß und legte ihn um meine Hüften.
3 And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,
Hierauf erging das Wort des Herrn an mich zum zweitenmal:
4 Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.
"Den Gürtel, den du dir gekauft und an den Hüften hast, nimm mit! Auf! Zieh zum Euphrat hin! Verbirg ihn dort in einer Felsenspalte!"
5 So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.
Ich ging und barg ihn dort am Euphrat, wie mir der Herr geboten.
6 And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
Und es geschah nach vielen Tagen; da sprach der Herr zu mir: "Auf! Zieh zum Euphrat hin und hol daselbst den Gürtel, den ich dich dort verbergen hieß!"
7 Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.
Ich zog zum Euphrat hin und suchte nach und nahm den Gürtel von der Stelle, wo ich ihn versteckt, und siehe da, der Gürtel war verdorben; zu nichts mehr tauglich.
8 Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Darauf erging das Wort des Herrn an mich.
9 Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.
Der Herr sprach also: "Auf gleiche Art vernichte ich auch Judas Glanz und den Jerusalems, so groß er ist.
10 This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.
Dem bösen Volk, das sich jetzt weigert, meine Worte anzuhören, und das im Trotze seines Herzens wandelt und hinter anderen Göttern läuft, sie zu verehren und sie anzubeten, ihm soll's genau so gehn wie diesem Gürtel, der zu nichts mehr taugt.
11 For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.
Wie sich der Gürtel schmiegt an eines Mannes Hüften, ließ ich an mich das ganze Haus von Israel sich schmiegen und das von Juda", ein Spruch des Herrn, "damit es mir zum Volk, zum Lob und Ruhm und Schmucke diene. Sie aber hörten nicht.
12 Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?
So sage ihnen dieses Wort: So spricht der Herr, Gott Israels: 'Mit Wein wird jedes Weingefäß gefüllt'; und sagen sie zu dir: 'Ja, dürfen wir nicht wissen, weshalb man jeden Krug mit Wein soll füllen?',
13 Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.
dann sage ihnen - Also spricht der Herr: 'Erfüllen will ich wirklich alle, die dieses Land bewohnen, die Könige, die auf dem Davidsthrone sitzen, die Priester und Propheten und alle Einwohner Jerusalems mit Trunkenheit,
14 And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.
und ich zerschlage sie, den einen an dem andern, die Väter und die Söhne allzumal'; ein Spruch des Herrn: 'Ich schone nicht, bedaure nicht, und kein Erbarmen hält mich ab, sie zu vernichten.'"
15 Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.
So hört! Merkt auf! Seid doch nicht stolz! Der Herr hat ja geredet.
16 Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.
Die Ehre gebet eurem Gott, dem Herrn, bevor es dunkel wird, bevor sich eure Füße an den finstern Bergen stoßen. Ihr sehnet euch nach Licht; er macht's zu tiefem Dunkel und hüllt's in dichte Nacht.
17 But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.
Doch hört ihr nicht darauf, dann muß ich herzlich still beweinen euren stolzen Sinn. Und unaufhörlich weint mein Auge; es zerfließt in Tränen, weil des Herren Herde gefangen wird hinweggeführt.
18 Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.
So sprich zum König und zur Herrin: "Zu unterst setzt euch hin! Herab von eurem Haupt ist eure Krone voller Pracht gesunken.
19 The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.
Des Südlands Städte sind umschlossen, und niemand ist, der sie befreit. Ganz Juda wird jetzt weggeführt, hinweggeführt bis auf den letzten Mann."
20 Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?
Heb deine Augen auf und sieh, wie sie von Norden kommen! Wo bleibt die Herde, die dir anvertraut, wo deine schmucken Schafe?
21 What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?
Was sagst du, stellt er dich jetzt unter Aufsicht? Du selber hast sie an die Herrschaft über dich gewöhnt, als erste Lieblinge. Ja, packen dich dann nicht die Wehen, gleich einem Weibe, das gebiert?
22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.
Und fragst du dich: "Warum geschieht mir dies?" Bei deiner großen Schlechtigkeit war deine Schleppe immer aufgedeckt, und deine Fersen waren wund gerieben.
23 Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.
Kann wohl ein Neger seine Haut, ein Pardel seine Flecken ändern? Nur dann könnt ihr auch besser werden, die ihr gewohnt seid, schlecht zu handeln.
24 Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.
"Und ich zerstreue euch wie Stoppeln, die vor dem Wüstenwind verfliegen.
25 This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.
Das sei dein Los, dies sei dein Teil, von mir dir zugemessen!" Ein Spruch des Herrn. "Weil du vergessen mich, auf Lüge dich verlassen,
26 Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.
will ich dir dein Gewand bis ins Gesicht aufdecken, daß deine Schande sichtbar werde.
27 I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
Dein Ehebrechen, dein Gewieher und deine unverschämte Buhlerei, auf Hügeln und im freien Feld hab ich gesehen deine Greuel. Weh dir, Jerusalem! Du bist nicht rein. Wie lange noch?"
