Matthew 22
1 Then Iesus answered, and spake vnto them againe in parables, saying,
Y respondiendo Jesús, les volvió a hablar en parábolas, diciendo:
2 The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a certaine King which maried his sonne,
El Reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre rey, que hizo fiesta de bodas a su hijo;
3 And sent foorth his seruants, to call them that were bidde to the wedding, but they woulde not come.
y envió sus siervos para que llamasen los invitados a las bodas; pero no quisieron venir.
4 Againe hee sent foorth other seruants, saying. Tell them which are bidden, Beholde, I haue prepared my dinner: mine oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all thinges are readie: come vnto the mariage.
Volvió a enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decid a los llamados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado, mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está preparado: venid a las bodas.
5 But they made light of it, and went their wayes, one to his farme, and another about his marchandise.
Mas ellos sin hacer caso, se fueron, uno a su labranza y otro a sus negocios.
6 And the remnant tooke his seruants, and intreated them sharpely, and slewe them.
Y otros, tomando a sus siervos, los afrentaron y los mataron.
7 But when the King heard it, he was wroth, and sent foorth his warriers, and destroyed those murtherers, and burnt vp their citie.
Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó a aquellos homicidas, y puso fuego a su ciudad.
8 Then saide hee to his seruants, Truely the wedding is prepared: but they which were bidden, were not worthy.
Entonces dice a sus siervos: Las bodas a la verdad están aparejadas, mas los que eran llamados no eran dignos.
9 Go ye therefore out into the high wayes, and as many as ye finde, bid them to the mariage.
Id pues a las salidas de los caminos, y llamad a las bodas a cuantos hallareis.
10 So those seruantes went out into the hie wayes, and gathered together all that euer they found, both good and bad: so the wedding was furnished with ghestes.
Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron a todos los que hallaron, malos y buenos; y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.
11 Then the King came in, to see the ghestes, and sawe there a man which had not on a wedding garment.
Y entró el rey para ver los convidados, y vio allí un hombre no vestido de vestido de boda.
12 And he sayd vnto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither, and hast not on a wedding garment? And he was speachlesse.
Y le dijo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí no teniendo vestido de boda? Y a él se le cerró la boca.
13 Then sayd the King to the seruants, Binde him hand and foote: take him away, and cast him into vtter darkenes: there shalbe weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Entonces el rey dijo a los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos tomadle, y echadle en las tinieblas de afuera; allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.
14 For many are called, but fewe chosen.
Porque muchos son llamados, y pocos escogidos.
15 Then went the Pharises and tooke counsell how they might tangle him in talke.
Entonces, idos los fariseos, consultaron cómo le tomarían en alguna palabra.
16 And they sent vnto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we knowe that thou art true, and teachest the way of God truely, neither carest for any man: for thou considerest not the person of men.
Y envían a él los discípulos de ellos, con los de Herodes, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y que no te curas de nadie, porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres.
17 Tell vs therefore, how thinkest thou? Is it lawfull to giue tribute vnto Cesar, or not?
Dinos pues, qué te parece: ¿Es lícito dar tributo a César, o no?
18 But Iesus perceiued their wickednes, and sayd, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
Mas Jesús, entendida su malicia, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?
19 Shewe me the tribute money. And they brought him a peny.
Mostradme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.
20 And he sayde vnto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
Entonces les dice: ¿De quién es esta imagen, y lo que está encima escrito?
21 They sayd vnto him, Cesars. Then sayd he vnto them, Giue therefore to Cesar, the things which are Cesars, and giue vnto God, those things which are Gods.
Ellos le dicen: De César. Y les dijo: Pagad pues a César lo que es de César, y a Dios lo que es de Dios.
22 And when they heard it, they marueiled, and left him, and went their way.
Y oyendo esto, se maravillaron, y dejándole se fueron.
23 The same day the Sadduces came to him (which say that there is no resurrection) and asked him,
Aquel día llegaron a él los saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,
24 Saying, Master, Moses sayd, If a man die, hauing no children, his brother shall marie his wife by the right of alliance, and raise vp seede vnto his brother.
diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se case con su mujer, y despertará simiente a su hermano.
25 Nowe there were with vs seuen brethren, and the first maried a wife, and deceased: and hauing none yssue, left his wife vnto his brother.
Hubo pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos; y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo simiente, dejó su mujer a su hermano.
26 Likewise also the second, and the third, vnto the seuenth.
De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.
27 And last of all the woman died also.
Y después de todos murió también la mujer.
28 Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seuen? for all had her.
En la resurrección pues, ¿de cuál de los siete será ella mujer? Porque todos la tuvieron.
29 Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, Ye are deceiued, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis ignorando las Escrituras, y la potencia de Dios.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marie wiues, nor wiues are bestowed in mariage, but are as the Angels of God in heauen.
Porque en la resurrección, ni maridos tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres maridos; porque son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.
31 And concerning the resurrection of the dead, haue ye not read what is spoken vuto you of God, saying,
Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que es dicho de Dios a vosotros, que dice:
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the liuing.
YO SOY el Dios de Abraham y el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de los muertos, sino de los que viven.
33 And when the multitude heard it, they were astonied at his doctrine.
Y oyendo esto la multitud, estaba fuera de sí por su doctrina.
34 But when the Pharises had heard, that he had put the Sadduces to silence, they assembled together.
Entonces los fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca a los saduceos, se juntaron a una.
35 And one of them, which was an expounder of the Lawe, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándolo y diciendo:
36 Master, which is ye great commandement in the Lawe?
Maestro, ¿cuál es el Mandamiento Grande en la ley?
37 Iesus sayd to him, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soule, and with all thy minde.
Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón y de toda tu alma y de toda tu mente.
38 This is the first and the great commandement.
Este es el Primero y el Grande Mandamiento.
39 And the second is like vnto this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
Y el Segundo es semejante a éste: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
40 On these two commandements hangeth the whole Lawe, and the Prophets.
De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas.
41 While the Pharises were gathered together, Iesus asked them,
Y estando juntos los fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,
42 Saying, What thinke ye of Christ? whose sonne is he? They sayd vnto him, Dauids.
diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿De quién es Hijo? Le dicen ellos: De David.
43 He sayd vnto them, How then doeth Dauid in spirit call him Lord, saying,
El les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en Espíritu lo llama Señor, diciendo:
44 The Lord sayd to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footestoole?
Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi diestra y entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?
45 If then Dauid call him Lord, howe is he his sonne?
Pues si David lo llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?
46 And none could answere him a worde, neither durst any from that day foorth aske him any moe questions.
Y nadie le podía responder palabra. Ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.
