Nehemiah 8
1 And all the people assembled themselues together, in the streete that was before the watergate, and they spake vnto Ezra the Scribe, that hee would bring the booke of ye Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.
Als aber der siebente Monat herankam, während die Israeliten in ihren Städten waren, da versammelte sich das ganze Volk wie ein Mann auf den freien Platz vor dem Wasserthor. Und sie baten Esra, den Schriftgelehrten, das Buch des Gesetzes Moses herbeizubringen, welches Jahwe den Israeliten anbefohlen hatte.
2 And Ezra the Priest brought the Lawe before the Congregation both of men and women, and of all that coulde heare and vnderstand it, in the first day of the seuenth moneth,
Da brachte Esra, der Priester, das Gesetz herzu vor die Versammlung, die Männer und Weiber und alle, die verständig genug waren, um zuzuhören, am ersten Tage des siebenten Monats.
3 And he read therein in the streete that was before the watergate (from the morning vntill the midday) before men and women, and them that vnderstoode it, and the eares of all the people hearkened vnto the booke of the Lawe.
Und er las daraus vor, angesichts des freien Platzes vor dem Wasserthore, von Tagesanbruch bis zum Mittag, in Gegenwart der Männer und der Weiber und derer von den Kindern, die es verstehen konnten, indem die Ohren von ganz Israel auf das Buch des Gesetzes gerichtet waren.
4 And Ezra the Scribe stoode vpon a pulpit of wood which he had made for the preaching, and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Ananiah, and Vriiah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right hande, and on his left hand Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
Und Esra, der Schriftgelehrte, stand auf einem hölzernen Gerüste, das sie für diesen Zweck errichtet hatten, und neben ihm standen Mattithja, Sema, Anaja, Asarja, Uria, Hilkia und Maaseja zu seiner Rechten, und zu seiner Linken Pedaja, Misaël, Malchia, Hasum, Hasbaddana, Sacharja und Mesullam.
5 And Ezra opened the booke before all the people: for hee was aboue all the people: and when he opened it, all the people stoode vp.
Und Esra schlug das Buch auf vor den Augen des ganzen Volks - denn er stand höher als das ganze Volk -, und als er es aufschlug, stand das ganze Volk auf.
6 And Ezra praysed the Lord the great God, and all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting vp their handes: and they bowed themselues, and worshipped the Lord with their faces toward the grounde.
Und Esra pries Jahwe, den großen Gott, und alles Volk antwortete: Amen, Amen! während sie zugleich ihre Hände hochhoben und sich verneigten und vor Jahwe mit dem Angesichte zur Erde niederwarfen.
7 Also Ieshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Iamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Iozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Leuites caused the people to vnderstand the lawe, and the people stood in their place.
Und Jesua, Bani, Serebja, Jamin, Akkub, Sabthai, Hodia, Maaseja, Kelita, Asarja, Josabad, Hanan und Pelaja, die Leviten, belehrten das Volk über das Gesetz, während die Leute auf ihrem Platze blieben.
8 And they read in the booke of the Lawe of God distinctly, and gaue the sense, and caused them to vnderstand the reading.
Und sie lasen aus dem Buche, dem Gesetze Gottes, deutlich vor und machten den Sinn klar, so daß man das Gelesene verstand.
9 Then Nehemiah (which is Tirshatha) and Ezra the Priest and scribe, and the Leuites that instructed the people, saide vnto all the people, This day is holie vnto ye Lord your God: mourne not, neither weepe: for all the people wept, whe they heard the words of the Lawe.
Und Nehemia, der Statthalter, und der Priester Esra, der Schriftgelehrte, und die Leviten, die das Volk belehrten, sprachen zu dem ganzen Volke: Der heutige Tag ist Jahwe, eurem Gott, heilig; klagt und weint nicht! Denn es weinten alle Leute, als sie die Gesetzesworte vernahmen.
10 He saide also vnto the, Go, and eate of the fat, and drinke the sweete, and send part vnto them, for whome none is prepared: for this day is holie vnto our Lord: be ye not sorie therefore: for the ioy of the Lord is your strength.
Und er sprach zu ihnen: Geht hin, eßt fette Speisen und trinkt süße Getränke und schickt Gerichte als Festgeschenke an die, für die nicht angerichtet ist; denn der heutige Tag ist unserem Herrn heilig. Darum seid nicht traurig, denn die Freude an Jahwe, die ist eure Schutzwehr!
11 And the Leuites made silence throughout all the people, saying, Holde your peace: for the day is holy, be not sad therefore.
Zugleich beschwichtigten die Leviten das ganze Volk, indem sie sprachen: Seid still, denn dieser Tag ist heilig, darum seid nicht traurig!
12 Then all the people went to eate and to drinke, and to send away part, and to make great ioy, because they had vnderstand the wordes that they had taught them.
Da gingen alle Leute hin, um zu essen und zu trinken und Gerichte als Festgeschenke zu verschicken und um ein großes Freudenfest zu begehen; denn sie hatten auf das geachtet, was man sie gelehrt hatte.
13 And on the second day the chiefe fathers of all the people, the Priests and the Leuites were gathered vnto Ezra the scribe, that he also might instruct them in the wordes of the Lawe.
Am zweiten Tag aber versammelten sich die Familienhäupter des ganzen Volks, die Priester und die Leviten, zu Esra, dem Schriftgelehrten, und zwar um auf die Gesetzesworte acht zu haben.
14 And they found written in the Law, (that the Lord had commanded by Moses) that the children of Israel should dwel in boothes in the feast of the seuenth moneth,
Da fanden sie geschrieben in dem Gesetze, das Jahwe durch Mose anbefohlen hatte, daß die Israeliten während des Festes im siebenten Monat in Laubhütten wohnen sollten,
15 And that they shoulde cause it to bee declared and proclaimed in all their cities, and in Ierusalem, saying, Go forth vnto the mount, and bring oliue branches, and pine branches, and branches of myrtus, and palme branches, and branches of thicke trees, to make boothes, as it is written.
und daß sie in allen ihren Städten und zu Jerusalem folgenden Befehl ausrufen und verkündigen lassen sollten: Geht hinaus aufs Gebirge und holt euch Zweige vom Olivenbaum und Zweige vom wilden Ölbaum und Zweige von der Myrte und Zweige von Palmen und Zweige von dichtbelaubten Bäumen, um nach der Vorschrift des Gesetzes Laubhütten zu machen.
16 So the people went foorth and brought them, and made them boothes, euerie one vpon the roofe of his house, and in their courtes, and in the courtes of the house of God, and in the streete by the watergate, and in the streete of the gate of Ephraim.
Und das Volk ging hinaus, holte die Zweige und machte sich Laubhütten, ein jeder auf seinem Dach und in ihren Höfen und in den Höfen des Tempels Gottes und auf dem freien Platz am Wasserthor und auf dem freien Platz am Ephraimthor.
17 And all the Congregation of them that were come againe out of the captiuitie made boothes, and sate vnder the boothes: for since the time of Ieshua the sonne of Nun vnto this day, had not the children of Israel done so, and there was very great ioy.
Und die ganze Gemeinde, so viele ihrer aus der Gefangenschaft heimgekehrt waren, machte Laubhütten und wohnte in den Laubhütten. Denn die Israeliten hatten seit der Zeit Jesuas, des Sohnes Nuns, bis auf eben jenen Tag nicht also gethan, und so herrschte eine sehr große Freude.
18 And he read in the booke of the Lawe of God euery day, from the first day vnto the last day. and they kept the feast seuen dayes, and on the eight day a solemne assemblie, according vnto the maner.
Und Tag für Tag las man aus dem Buche des Gesetzes Gottes vor, vom ersten Tag an bis zum letzten Tage. Und sie begingen das Fest sieben Tage lang, und am achten Tage fand der Vorschrift gemäß eine Festversammlung statt.
