Psalms 135

1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord: ye seruants of the Lord, praise him.

[Lobet Jehova! [Hallelujah!] ] Lobet den Namen Jehovas! Lobet, ihr Knechte Jehovas,

2 Ye that stande in the House of the Lord, and in the courtes of the House of our God,

Die ihr stehet im Hause Jehovas, in den Vorhöfen des Hauses unseres Gottes!

3 Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name: for it is a comely thing.

Lobet Jehova! [Hallelujah!] denn gut ist Jehova; singet Psalmen seinem Namen! denn er [O. es] ist lieblich.

4 For the Lord hath chosen Iaakob to himselfe, and Israel for his chiefe treasure.

Denn Jehova [Hebr. Jah] hat sich Jakob erwählt, Israel zu seinem Eigentum.

5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is aboue all gods.

Denn ich weiß, daß Jehova groß ist, und unser Herr groß vor allen Göttern.

6 Whatsoeuer pleased the Lord, that did hee in heauen and in earth, in the sea, and in all the depths.

Alles, was Jehova wohlgefällt, tut er in den Himmeln und auf der Erde, in den Meeren und in allen Tiefen;

7 He bringeth vp the cloudes from the ends of the earth, and maketh the lightnings with ye raine: he draweth foorth the winde out of his treasures.

Der Dünste aufsteigen läßt vom Ende der Erde, der Blitze macht zum Regen, [O. für den Regen, d. h. um ihn anzukündigen; vergl. Sach. 10,1] der den Wind herausführt aus seinen Vorratskammern;

8 He smote the first borne of Egypt both of man and beast.

Der die Erstgeborenen Ägyptens schlug vom Menschen bis zum Vieh,

9 He hath sent tokens and wonders into the middes of thee, O Egypt, vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his seruants.

Zeichen und Wunder sandte in deine Mitte, Ägypten, wider den Pharao und wider alle seine Knechte;

10 He smote many nations, and slew mightie Kings:

Der große Nationen schlug und starke Könige tötete:

11 As Sihon King of the Amorites, and Og King of Bashan, and all the kingdomes of Canaan:

Sihon, den König der Amoriter, und Og, den König von Basan, und alle Königreiche Kanaans;

12 And gaue their lande for an inheritance, euen an inheritance vnto Israel his people.

Und ihr Land als Erbteil gab, als Erbteil seinem Volke Israel.

13 Thy Name, O Lord, endureth for euer: O Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.

Jehova, dein Name währt ewiglich, Jehova, dein Gedächtnis [Vergl. 2. Mose 3,15] von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.

14 For the Lord will iudge his people, and be pacified towardes his seruants.

Denn Jehova wird sein Volk richten, [O. seinem Volke Recht schaffen] und er wird sichs gereuen lassen [O. sich erbarmen] über seine Knechte. [Vergl. 5. Mose 32,36]

15 The idoles of the heathen are siluer and golde, euen the worke of mens handes.

Die Götzen der Nationen sind Silber und Gold, ein Werk von Menschenhänden.

16 They haue a mouth, and speake not: they haue eyes and see not.

Einen Mund haben sie und reden nicht; Augen haben sie und sehen nicht;

17 They haue eares and heare not, neither is there any breath in their mouth.

Ohren haben sie und hören nicht; auch ist kein Odem in ihrem Munde.

18 They that make them, are like vnto them: so are all that trust in them.

Ihnen gleich sind die, die sie machen, ein jeder, der auf sie vertraut.

19 Praise the Lord, ye house of Israel: praise the Lord, ye house of Aaron.

Haus Israel, preiset Jehova! Haus Aaron, preiset Jehova!

20 Praise the Lord, ye house of Leui: ye that feare the Lord, praise the Lord.

Haus Levi, preiset Jehova! Die ihr Jehova fürchtet, preiset Jehova!

21 Praised bee the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth in Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

Gepriesen sei Jehova von Zion aus, der zu Jerusalem wohnt! Lobet Jehova! [Halleluja!]
