Psalms 61

1 To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalme of David. Heare my cry, O God: giue eare vnto my prayer.

Au maître de chant. Sur les instruments à cordes. De David. O Dieu, entends mes cris, sois attentif à ma prière.

2 From the endes of the earth will I crye vnto thee: when mine heart is opprest, bring me vpon the rocke that is higher then I.

De l’extrémité de la terre je crie vers toi, dans l’angoisse de mon cœur; conduis-moi sur le rocher que je ne puis atteindre.

3 For thou hast bene mine hope, and a strong tower against the enemie.

Car tu es pour moi un refuge, une tour puissante contre l’ennemi.

4 I will dwell in thy Tabernacle for euer, and my trust shall be vnder the couering of thy wings. (Selah)

Je voudrais demeurer à jamais dans ta tente, me réfugier à l’abri de tes ailes! — Séla.

5 For thou, O God, hast heard my desires: thou hast giuen an heritage vnto those that feare thy Name.

Car toi, ô Dieu, tu exauces mes vœux, tu m’as donné l’héritage de ceux qui révèrent ton nom.

6 Thou shalt giue the King a long life: his yeeres shalbe as many ages.

Ajoute des jours aux jours du roi, que ses années se prolongent d’âge en âge!

7 Hee shall dwell before God for euer: prepare mercie and faithfulnes that they may preserue him.

Qu’il demeure sur le trône éternellement devant Dieu! Ordonne à ta bonté et à ta vérité de le garder!

8 So will I alway sing prayse vnto thy Name in performing dayly my vowes.

Alors je célébrerai ton nom à jamais, et j’accomplirai mes vœux chaque jour.
