< 1 John 5 >

1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loves him that fathered loves him also that is begotten of him.
Ko ia ia ʻoku tui ko e Kalaisi ʻa Sisu, kuo fanauʻi ia ʻi he ʻOtua: pea ko ia fulipē ʻoku ʻofa kiate ia ʻoku ne fakatupu, ʻoku ʻofa foki ia kiate ia kuo tupu meiate ia.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
Ko eni ʻoku tau ʻilo ai ʻoku tau ʻofa ki he fānau ʻae ʻOtua, ʻi heʻetau ʻofa ki he ʻOtua, mo e fai ki heʻene ngaahi fekau.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
He ko eni ʻae ʻofa ki he ʻOtua, ko e tau fai ki heʻene ngaahi fekau: pea ʻoku ʻikai fakamamahi ʻa ʻene ngaahi fekau.
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.
He ko ia kotoa pē kuo fanauʻi ʻi he ʻOtua, ʻoku ne ikuna ʻa māmani: pea ko eni ʻae mālohi ʻoku ne ikuna ʻaki ʻa māmani, ko ʻetau tui.
5 Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Ko hai ia ʻoku ne ikuna ʻa māmani, ka ko ia ʻoku tui ko e ʻAlo ʻoe ʻOtua ʻa Sisu?
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.
Ko eni ia naʻe haʻu ʻi he vai mo e toto, ʻa Sisu Kalaisi; ʻikai ʻi he vai pe, kae ʻi he vai mo e toto. Pea ʻoku fakamoʻoni ʻe he Laumālie, he ʻoku moʻoni ʻae Laumālie.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
He ʻoku ai ʻae toko tolu ʻi he langi ʻoku fakamoʻoni, ko e Tamai, mo e Folofola, pea mo e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni: pea ʻoku taha pe ʻae toko tolu ni
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Pea ʻoku ai ʻae tolu ʻi māmani ʻoku fakamoʻoni, ko e Laumālie, mo e vai, pea mo e toto: pea ʻoku kau fakataha ʻae tolu ni.
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he has testified of his Son.
Kapau ʻoku tau tali ʻae fakamoʻoni ʻoe tangata, ʻoku lahi hake ʻae fakamoʻoni ʻoe ʻOtua: he ko eni ʻae fakamoʻoni ʻoe ʻOtua ʻaia kuo ne fakahā ki hono ʻAlo.
10 He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself: he that believes not God has made him a liar; because he believes not the record that God gave of his Son.
Ko ia ʻoku tui ki he ʻAlo ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻoku ʻiate ia pe ʻae fakamoʻoni: ko ia ʻoku ʻikai ke tui ki he ʻOtua, ʻoku ne lohiakiʻi ia; koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻikai ke tui ia ki he fakamoʻoni ʻaia kuo fakahā ʻe he ʻOtua ki hono ʻAlo.
11 And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
Pea ko eni ʻae fakamoʻoni, kuo foaki ʻe he ʻOtua ʻae moʻui taʻengata kiate kitautolu, pea ko e moʻui ni ʻoku ʻi hono ʻAlo. (aiōnios g166)
12 He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life.
Ko ia ʻoku ne maʻu ʻae ʻAlo, ʻoku ne maʻu mo e moʻui; pea ko ia ʻoku ʻikai te ne maʻu ʻae ʻAlo ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻoku ʻikai te ne maʻu ʻae moʻui.
13 These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)
Kuo u tohi ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kiate kimoutolu ʻoku tui ki he huafa ʻoe ʻAlo ʻoe ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke mou ʻilo ʻoku ʻamoutolu ʻae moʻui taʻengata, pea ke mou tui ki he huafa ʻoe ʻAlo ʻoe ʻOtua. (aiōnios g166)
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us:
Pea ko eni ʻae mālohi ʻaia ʻoku tau maʻu kiate ia, koeʻuhi, katau ka kole ha meʻa ʻo fakatatau ki hono finangalo, ʻoku ne ongoʻi ʻakitautolu:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Pea kapau ʻoku tau ʻilo ʻoku ne ongoʻi ʻakitautolu, ko ia kotoa pē ʻoku tau kolea, ʻoku tau ʻilo ʻoku tau maʻu ʻae ngaahi kole naʻa tau holi ai kiate ia.
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not to death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not to death. There is a sin to death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Kapau ʻe mamata ʻe ha taha ki he fai ʻe hono tokoua ha angahala ʻoku ʻikai ki he mate, pea ʻe kole ia, pea te ne foaki ʻae moʻui kiate ia maʻanautolu ʻoku angahala kae ʻikai ki he mate: ʻoku ʻikai te u pehe ke ne lotua ia.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not to death.
Ko e taʻemāʻoniʻoni kotoa pē ko e angahala ia: pea ʻoku ʻi ai ʻae angahala ʻoku ʻikai ki he mate.
18 We know that whoever is born of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not.
‌ʻOku tau ʻilo, ko ia kotoa pē kuo fanauʻi ʻi he ʻOtua, ʻoku ʻikai angahala ia; ka ko ia kuo fanauʻi ʻi he ʻOtua ʻoku ne taʻofi ia ʻe ia, pea ʻoku ʻikai alasi ia ʻe he tokotaha kovi ko ia.
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness.
‌ʻOku tau ʻilo ʻoku ʻae ʻOtua ʻakitautolu, ka ʻoku tokoto ʻa māmani kotoa pē ʻi he tokotaha kovi.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Pea ʻoku tau ʻilo kuo haʻu ʻae ʻAlo ʻoe ʻOtua, pea kuo ne foaki ʻae ʻilo kiate kitautolu, ketau ʻiloʻi ia ʻaia ʻoku moʻoni, pea ʻoku tau ʻiate ia ʻoku moʻoni, ʻi hono ʻAlo ko Sisu Kalaisi. Ko eni ʻae ʻOtua moʻoni, mo e moʻui taʻengata. (aiōnios g166)
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
‌ʻAe fānau ʻofeina, taʻofi ʻakimoutolu mei he ngaahi tamapua. ʻEmeni.
