< Proverbs 11 >

1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
Awurade kyi asisi nsania, na nʼani gye nokware nkaribo ho.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
Ahantan ba a, animguase na edi so, nanso ahobrɛase de nyansa ba.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
Teefo nokwaredi kyerɛ wɔn kwan; nanso nkontompofo ano ntanta sɛe wɔn.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.
Ahonya nka hwee wɔ abufuwhyew da no, nanso trenee gye nkwa fi owu mu.
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
Wɔn a wonni bɔne no trenee bɔ kwan tee ma wɔn, nanso amumɔyɛfo amumɔyɛsɛm brɛ wɔn ase.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
Pɛyɛfo treneeyɛ gye wɔn, nanso akɔnnɔ bɔne afiri yi nkontompofo.
7 When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes.
Sɛ omumɔyɛfo wu a, nʼanidaso yera; nea osusuw sɛ obenya afi ne tumi mu nyinaa no yɛ ɔkwa.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.
Wogye ɔtreneeni fi amane mu, na ɛba omumɔyɛfo so mmom.
9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
Nea onsuro Onyame de nʼano sɛe ne yɔnko, nanso ɔtreneeni nam nimdeɛ so fi mu.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
Sɛ atreneefo di yiye a, kuropɔn no di ahurusi; nanso amumɔyɛfo wu a, wɔbɔ ose.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Pɛyɛfo nhyira ma kuropɔn no kɔ so, nanso amumɔyɛfo ano ma ɛbɔ.
12 He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.
Onipa a onni adwene no bu ne yɔnko animtiaa, nanso nea ɔwɔ nhumu no to ne tɛkrɛma nnareka.
13 A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.
Nsekudi sɛe ahotoso, nanso nea wɔwɔ ne mu ahotoso no kora ahintasɛm.
14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Ɔman a enni akwankyerɛ no bɔ, nanso afotufo dodow ma nkonimdi ba.
15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hates indebtedness is sure.
Nea odi akagyinamu ma ɔfoforo no behu amane, na nea ɔmmfa ne nsa nhyɛ awowasi ase no aso mu dwo no.
16 A gracious woman retains honor: and strong men retain riches.
Ɔbea a ne yam ye no, wɔde obu ma no, nanso mmarima atirimɔdenfo nya ahode nkutoo.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubles his own flesh.
Ɔyamyefo ye ma ne ho, na otirimɔdenfo de ɔhaw ba nʼankasa so.
18 The wicked works a deceitful work: but to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.
Omumɔyɛfo nya akatua a ennyina, nanso nea ogu trenee aba no twa aba a edi mu.
19 As righteousness tends to life: so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
Nea ɔyɛ nokware treneeni no nya nkwa, nanso nea ɔkɔ so yɛ bɔne no kɔ owu mu.
20 They that are of a fraudulent heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
Awurade kyi nnipa a wɔn koma akyea, na nʼani gye wɔn a wɔn akwan ho nni asɛm no ho.
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Gye to mu sɛ, amumɔyɛfo benya wɔn akatua, na atreneefo benya wɔn ti adidi mu.
22 As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.
Ɔbea hoɔfɛfo a ontumi nsi gyinae no te sɛ sika kaa a ɛhyɛ prako hwene mu.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Atreneefo apɛde wie yiye, nanso amumɔyɛfo anidaso wie abufuwhyew.
24 There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty.
Obi yɛ adɔe, na onya ne ho bebree; obi nso yɛ pɛpɛe, nanso ehia no.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.
Ɔyamyefo bɛkɔ so anya ne ho; na nea ɔma ebinom mee no nso bɛmee.
26 He that withholds corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be on the head of him that sells it.
Nnipa dome nea ɔde atoko sie, na nhyira ba nea ɔtɔn ne de so.
27 He that diligently seeks good procures favor: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come to him.
Nea ɔhwehwɛ papa akyi kwan no nya anisɔ, na nea ɔhwehwɛ bɔne no, bɔne ba ne so.
28 He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
Nea ɔde ne ho to nʼahonyade so no bɛhwe ase, na ɔtreneeni bɛyɛ frɔmfrɔm sɛ ahabammono.
29 He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Nea ɔde ɔhaw bɛto nʼabusua so no bedi mframa ade, na ɔkwasea bɛyɛ onyansafo somfo.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.
Ɔtreneeni aba yɛ nkwadua, na nea ogye akra no yɛ onyansafo.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Ɛyɛ den sɛ wobegye onipa pa nkwa; na wɔn a wonnye asɛm no nni ne nnebɔneyɛfo no de, dɛn na ɛbɛba wɔn so?”
