Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you.
হে আমার বাছা, আমার কথাগুলি মেনে চলো ও তোমার অন্তরে আমার আদেশগুলি মজুত করে রাখো।
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.
আমার আদেশগুলি পালন করো ও তুমি বেঁচে থাকবে; চোখের মণির মতো করে আমার শিক্ষামালা রক্ষা করো।
3 Bind them on your fingers, write them on the table of your heart.
তোমার আঙুলে সেগুলি বেঁধে রেখো; তোমার হৃদয়-ফলকে সেগুলি লিখে রেখো।
4 Say to wisdom, You are my sister; and call understanding your kinswoman:
প্রজ্ঞাকে বলো, “তুমি আমার বোন,” ও দূরদর্শিতাকে বলো, “তুমি আমার আত্মীয়।”
5 That they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatters with her words.
তারা তোমাকে ব্যভিচারিণীর কাছ থেকে, ও সম্মোহনী কথা বলা স্বৈরিণী নারীর কাছ থেকেও দূরে সরিয়ে রাখবে।
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
আমার বাড়ির জানালায় জাফরি দিয়ে আমি নিচের দিকে তাকালাম।
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
অনভিজ্ঞ লোকদের দিকে আমার নজর গেল, যুবকদের মধ্যে আমি লক্ষ্য করলাম, এমন একজন যুবককে, যার কোনও বোধবুদ্ধি নেই।
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
সে ওই মহিলার বাড়ির পাশের গলি দিয়ে যাচ্ছিল, তার বাড়ির দিকেই হেঁটে যাচ্ছিল
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
গোধূলিবেলায়, দিন যখন ঢলে পড়ছিল, ও রাতের অন্ধকারও নেমে আসছিল।
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart.
তখন একজন মহিলা তার সাথে দেখা করার জন্য বেরিয়ে এল, সে এক বেশ্যার মতো পোশাক পরেছিল ও তার উদ্দেশ্য ধূর্ত ছিল।
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
(সে অদম্য ও বেপরোয়া, তার পা কখনও ঘরে থাকে না;
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.)
সে কখনও রাস্তায় যায়, আবার কখনও চকে, কোনায় কোনায় সে ওৎ পেতে থাকে)
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
সে সেই যুবককে জড়িয়ে ধরে চুমু দিল ও নির্লজ্জ মুখে বলল:
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows.
“আজ আমি আমার ব্রত পূরণ করেছি, ও ঘরে আমার মঙ্গলার্থক বলি থেকে খাবার সরিয়ে রেখেছি।
15 Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you.
তাই তোমার সাথে দেখা করার জন্য আমি বের হয়ে এসেছি; আমি তোমার খোঁজ করেছিলাম ও তোমাকে খুঁজে পেয়েছি!
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
আমার বিছানায় আমি মিশর থেকে আনা রঙিন মসিনার চাদর পেতেছি।
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
আমার বিছানাটি আমি গন্ধরস, অগুরু ও দারুচিনি দিয়ে সুবাসিত করেছি।
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
এসো, সকাল পর্যন্ত আমরা ভালোবাসার গভীর রসে মত্ত হই; নিজেদের মধ্যে ভালোবাসা উপভোগ করি!
19 For the manager is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
আমার স্বামী ঘরে নেই; সে দীর্ঘ যাত্রায় গিয়েছে।
20 He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
সে অর্থে ভরা থলি নিয়ে গিয়েছে ও পূর্ণিমার আগে সে ঘরে ফিরছে না।”
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
প্ররোচনামূলক কথা বলে সে যুবকটিকে বিপথে পরিচালিত করল; সে তার স্নিগ্ধ কথাবার্তা দিয়ে তাকে প্রলুব্ধ করল।
22 He goes after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
তখনই সে মহিলাটির অনুগামী হল যেভাবে বলদ জবাই হওয়ার জন্য এগিয়ে যায়, যেভাবে হরিণ ফাঁসে পা গলায়
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life.
যতক্ষণ না তির তার যকৃৎ বিদ্ধ করে, ঠিক যেভাবে পাখি উড়ে গিয়ে ফাঁদে পড়ে, আর জানতেও পারে না যে এতে তার প্রাণহানি হবে।
24 Listen to me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
তবে এখন, হে আমার বাছারা, আমার কথা শোনো; আমি যা বলি তাতে মনোযোগ দাও।
25 Let not your heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
তোমাদের হৃদয় যেন সেই মহিলার পথের দিকে না ফেরে বা পথভ্রষ্ট হয়ে তার পথে চলে না যায়।
26 For she has cast down many wounded: yes, many strong men have been slain by her.
অনেকেই তার আঘাতের শিকার হয়েছে; তার দ্বারা নিহত লোকের সংখ্যা প্রচুর।
