Psalms 7
1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Chusi the Benjamite. O Lord my God, in you have I trusted: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.
«Σιγαϊών του Δαβίδ, το οποίον έψαλλεν εις τον Κύριον, διά τους λόγους Χούς του Βενιαμίτου.» Κύριε ο Θεός μου, επί σε ελπίζω· σώσον με εκ πάντων των διωκόντων με και ελευθέρωσόν με·
2 Lest at any time [the enemy] seize my soul as a lion, while there is none to ransom, nor to save.
μήποτε ο εχθρός αρπάση ως λέων την ψυχήν μου και διασπαράξη, χωρίς να υπάρξη ελευθερωτής.
3 O Lord my God, if I have done this; (if there is unrighteousness in my hands; )
Κύριε ο Θεός μου, εάν εγώ έπραξα τούτο, εάν εις τας χείρας μου ήναι ανομία·
4 if I have requited with evil those who requited me [with good]; may I then perish empty by means of my enemies.
εάν ανταπέδωκα κακόν εις τον ειρηνεύοντα μετ' εμού, ή κατέθλιψα τον αναιτίως διώκοντά με·
5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, an take it; and let him trample my life on the ground, and lay my glory in the dust. (Pause)
ας καταδιώξη ο εχθρός την ψυχήν μου και ας φθάση αυτήν· και ας καταπατήση εις γην την ζωήν μου, και ας καταβάλη την δόξαν μου εις το χώμα. Διάψαλμα.
6 Arise, O Lord, in your wrath; be exalted in the utmost boundaries of mine enemies: awake, O Lord my God, according to the decree which you did command.
Ανάστηθι, Κύριε, εν τη οργή σου· υψώθητι ένεκα της λύσσης των εχθρών μου· και εγέρθητι δι' εμέ εις την κρίσιν την οποίαν προσέταξας.
7 And the congregation of the nations shall compass you: and for this cause do you return on high.
Και η σύναξις των λαών θέλει σε κυκλώσει· και συ επίστρεψον, να καθήσης υπεράνωθεν αυτής εις ύψος.
8 The Lord shall judge the nations: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my innocence that is in me.
Ο Κύριος θέλει κρίνει τους λαούς. Κρίνόν με, Κύριε, κατά την δικαιοσύνην μου, και κατά την ακεραιότητά μου, την εν εμοί.
9 Oh let the wickedness of sinners come to an end; and [then] you shall direct the righteous, O God that search the hearts and reins.
Ας τελειώση πλέον η κακία των ασεβών· και στερέωσον τον δίκαιον, συ ο Θεός ο δίκαιος, ο εξετάζων καρδίας και νεφρούς.
10 My help is righteous, [coming] from God who saves the upright in heart.
Η ασπίς μου είναι εν τω Θεώ, όστις σώζει τους ευθείς την καρδίαν.
11 God is a righteous judge, and strong, and patient, not inflicting vengeance every day.
Ο Θεός είναι κριτής δίκαιος και Θεός οργιζόμενος καθ' εκάστην ημέραν.
12 If you will not repent, he will furbish his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready.
Εάν ο ασεβής δεν επιστραφή, θέλει ακονίσει την ρομφαίαν αυτού· ενέτεινε το τόξον αυτού και ητοίμασεν αυτό·
13 And on it he has fitted the instruments of death; he has completed his arrows for the raging ones.
και δι' αυτόν ητοίμασεν όργανα θανάτου· προσήρμοσε τα βέλη αυτού εναντίον των διωκτών.
14 Behold, he has travailed with unrighteousness, he has conceived trouble, and brought forth iniquity.
Ιδού, ο ασεβής κοιλοπονεί ανομίαν· συνέλαβε δε πονηρίαν και εγέννησε ψεύδος·
15 He has opened a pit, and dug it up, and he shall fall into the ditch which he has made.
Έκσαψε λάκκον και εβάθυνεν αυτόν· πλην αυτός θέλει πέσει εις τον βόθρον, τον οποίον έκαμεν.
16 His trouble shall return on his own head, and his unrighteousness shall come down on his own crown.
Η πονηρία αυτού θέλει επιστρέψει κατά της κεφαλής αυτού, και η καταδυναστεία αυτού θέλει καταβή επί την κορυφήν αυτού.
17 I will give thanks to the Lord according to his righteousness; I will sing to the name of the Lord most high.
Εγώ θέλω επαινεί τον Κύριον κατά την δικαιοσύνην αυτού, και θέλω ψαλμωδεί εις το όνομα Κυρίου του Υψίστου.
