< Deuteronomy 2 >

1 “And we turn and journey into the wilderness, the way of the Red Sea, as YHWH has spoken to me, and we go around Mount Seir [for] many days.
Chuin gamthip lang jondin ikiheiyun Twipisan lam jon in icheuvin, Pakaiyin asei bang in, Seir molsang lama chun phat sottah lungdong in ivah leleuvin ahi.
2 And YHWH speaks to me, saying,
Hichun Pakaiyin hiti hin eiseipeh in,
3 For you go around this mountain long enough; turn for yourselves northward.
Nangho gamthip lah a lungdong in naum sot lheh tauve; sahlam gamkai mano tauvin.
4 And the people command you, saying, You are passing over into the border of your brothers, sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir, and they are afraid of you; and you have been very watchful;
Thupeh hichengse hi mipi henga seiyin: “Nanghon na sopiu Esau chilhah Edom mite chenna Seir mun na jotpa diu ahi. Edom mite chu kichat nan alhun den theiju ahi, ching theiyun.”
5 you do not strive with them, for I do not give [any] of their land to you—even the treading of the sole of a foot; I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession.
Aheng uva ima na ngeh lou diu ahi. Ajeh chu keiman Seir gam jouse amaho kapeh ahitan, nangho gambeh neocha jong na kipe theilou diu ahi.
6 You buy food from them with money, and have eaten; and you also buy water from them with money, and have drunk.
An leh twi nangai chat uva ahileh, aman napeh uva na kichoh cheh diu ahi.
7 For your God YHWH has blessed you in all the work of your hands; He has known your walking in this great wilderness these forty years; your God YHWH [is] with you; you have not lacked anything.
Ajeh chu Pakai, Pathen in nabol natoh jouseu phatthei abohtan. Aman gamthip noiya kal nason chan geiyuva pat ave lhih jing in. Kum somli sung in Pakai, Pathen in lhasam louvin na umpiuve.
8 And we pass by from our brothers, sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir, by the way of the plain, by Elath and by Ezion-Gaber, and we turn and pass over the way of the wilderness of Moab;
Chuin Esau chilhah ho chenna Seir mun igalkai uvin. Arabah phaicham kiti Elath le Ezion-geber akon hungna lampi vang ipeldoh uvin ahi. Hiti chun sahlam nelgam lam juiyin Moab lam ino tauvin ahi.
9 and YHWH says to me, Do not distress Moab, nor stir yourself up against them [in] battle, for I do not give [any] of their land to you [for] a possession; for I have given Ar to the sons of Lot [for] a possession.
Chuin Pakaiyin aseiyin, “Lot chilhah Moab mite na suhgim lou diu, gal jong na bolkhum lou hel diu ahi. Ar gam Leiset pumpi amaho kapeh ahitan, nangho gam beh neokhat jong na chan thei lou diu ahi.”
10 The Emim have formerly dwelt in it, a people great, and numerous, and tall as the Anakim;
(Mihat Emim mite chu Ar muna ana cheng uvin ahi. Amaho chu asang thei un chule atha u-jong ahat in Anakim mite tobang chu ahiuve.
11 they are reckoned [as] Rephaim, they also, as the Anakim; and the Moabites call them Emim.
Emimte le Anakim ho chu Rephaim tinjong akiheuvin, Moab miten vang Emim tin akou un ahi.
12 And the Horim have formerly dwelt in Seir, but the sons of Esau dispossess them, and destroy them from before them, and dwell in their stead, as Israel has done to the land of his possession which YHWH has given to them.
Masang chun Hor mite chu Seir muna ana cheng uvin, hinlah amaho chu Esau chilhahte hotoh gal ana kibol uvin, Hor mite chu ana jamdoh tauvin. Israel miten Canaan mite adel gam uva agam pumpi Pakai in apeh tobang’u ahi.)
13 Now rise and pass over the Brook of Zered for yourselves; and we pass over the Brook of Zered.
Mose’n avelin aseiyin, ‘Chuin Pakaiyin iheng uva hiti hin aseiye, Zered galkai ding in che uvin, ati bang in igalkai tauvin ahi.
14 And the days which we have walked from Kadesh-Barnea until we have passed over the Brook of Zered [are] thirty-eight years, until the consumption of all the generation of the men of battle from the midst of the camp, as YHWH has sworn to them;
Kadesh Burnea ihin dalhah kal-u kum somthum le get ahitan, Pasal galsat thei jouse gamthip la h a athisoh tauve. Hichu Pakaiyin atep banga thilsoh ahi.
15 and indeed the hand of YHWH has been against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp until they are consumed.
Pakaiyin asuh manghel kahseuvin, amaho chu adou in ahi.
16 And it comes to pass, when all the men of battle have finished dying from the midst of the people,
Galbol thei pasal jouse athi gam phat chun,
17 that YHWH speaks to me, saying,
Pakaiyin ka henga hiti hin aseiyin,
18 Today you are passing over the border of Moab, even Ar,
Tunia hi Ar muna pat Moab gamgi na galkai diu
19 and [when] you have come near the sons of Ammon, you do not distress them, nor stir yourself up against them, for I do not give [any] of the land of the sons of Ammon to you [for] a possession; for I have given it to the sons of Lot [for] a possession.
Lot chilhah Ammon mite chenna nalut diu, hinlah amaho na suhgim lou diu gal jong nabol khum lou diu ahi. Hiche gam hi Ammon mite kapeh ahitan, agam hi nnag ho kapeh thei louding ahitai.
20 It is reckoned [as] a land of Rephaim, even it; Rephaim formerly dwelt in it, and the Ammonites call them Zamzummim,
(Hiche gam chu Rephaim mite gam'a ana kihe ahin, Ammon miten vang Zamzummim mite atiuve.
21 a people great, and numerous, and tall as the Anakim, and YHWH destroys them before them, and they dispossess them, and dwell in their stead,
Amaho jong chu asang thei un chule athau ahat thei uvin Anakim mite tobang ahiuve. Hinlah Pakaiyin amaho chu asugamhel tauvin ahileh, chuin Ammon miten agam alo tauve.
22 as He has done for the sons of Esau who are dwelling in Seir, when He destroyed the Horim from before them, and they dispossess them, and dwell in their stead to this day.
Pakaiyin Seir muna Esau chilhahte dinga na-atoh bang bang in abol in chule Hor mite asugam in ahileh hiche muna chun amaho acheng tauvin ahi. Hijeh chun Esau chilhahte tuni changeiyin acheng tauvin ahi.
23 As for the Avim who are dwelling in villages as far as Gaza, the Caphtorim—who are coming out from Caphtor—have destroyed them, and dwell in their stead.
Hiche tobang hin Crete apat Caphtorit mite chunga thilsoh ana lhung in, Avvit mite chu anasu-gam hel uvin, Gaza khopi chan alo tauve.)
24 Rise, journey, and pass over the Brook of Arnon; see, I have given into your hand Sihon king of Heshbon, the Amorite, and his land; begin to possess [it], and stir yourself up against him [in] battle.
Mose’n avelin aseiyin, ‘Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiye, tun Arnon Gorge mun galkai ding in che tauvin! Vetan, Sihon, Amorite Hesbon lengpa khu nakhut uva kapeh doh ding chule agam pumpi nangma na chan ding ahi. Nokhum unlang agam khu lo tauvin.
25 This [is] the day I begin to put your dread and your fear on the face of the peoples under the whole heavens, who hear your fame, and have trembled and been pained because of you.
Tu nikhoa kipat gam Leiset a cheng mihemte chunga tijatna kalhun sah ding ahi. Nachung chang thu-u ahin jah doh tenguleh kichat nan alhun den diu ahi.
26 And I send messengers from the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon king of Heshbon, [with] words of peace, saying,
Mose’n aseikit in, ‘Kadeshmoth gamthip apat Heshbon lengpa Sihon henga chamna thuseiyin palai khat kasol in:
27 Let me pass over through your land; in the way—in the way I go, I do not turn aside [to the] right or left.
Nagam sung ka jotpa diu ahi. Lampi jeng ka jotpa diu amavang, akimvel lah kahopa lou diu ahi.
28 You sell me food for money, and I have eaten; and you give to me water for money, and I have drunk; only, let me pass over on my feet,

29 as the sons of Esau who are dwelling in Seir and the Moabites who are dwelling in Ar have done for me, until I pass over the Jordan to the land which our God YHWH is giving to us.
Seir muna Esau chilhahten agam kajotpa uva ka galkai nadiu eiphal peh uvin, hiche tobang chun Ar muna cheng Moab mite jeng in jong abol uvin ahi. Hijeh chun Pakai, Pathen in eipeh nau gam Jordan vadung ka gal kaithei na diuvin nagam sung nei jotsah tauvin katiuve.
30 And Sihon king of Heshbon has not been willing to let us pass over by him, for your God YHWH has hardened his spirit and strengthened his heart, so as to give him into your hand as at this day.
Hinlah Heshbon muna Sihon lengpan agamsung hopa ding chu anom tapoi, ajeh chu Pakai, Pathen in Sihon lengpa lungthim chu asutah in chuin Pakaiyin eiki thopi uvin ahileh galjona chu eipe tauve.
31 And YHWH says to me, See, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before your faces; begin to possess—to possess his land.
Chuin Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiyin, Vetan, Keiman tua kipat Sihon lengpa leh agam leiset na khut uva kapeh doh pan ahitai. Tun kipan uvin agam pumpi lo ding in kon tauvin, ati.
32 And Sihon comes out to meet us, he and all his people, to the battle at Jahaz;
Chuin Sihon lenpan eiho chunga gal bol ding in kho lhang asam tan, Jahaz apat agalsat miho henga hetsahna aneiyin ahi.
33 and our God YHWH gives him before our faces, and we strike him, and his sons, and all his people;
Ahinlah Pakai, Pathen in eiho khut a apedoh tan ahileh, achapate chule amite jouse jaonan i-satgam hel tauvin gal jona i-chang tauvin ahi.
34 and we capture all his cities at that time, and devote the whole city—men, and the women, and the infants; we have not left a remnant;
Akhopi jouse leh amite jouse abonchan ithat gam hel tauvin, hichu pasal jouse leh numei chapang jaona ahi. Mihem khat a khat cha jeng jong asohcha tapon ahi.
35 only, we have spoiled the livestock for ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we have captured.
Khopi sunga gancha jouse abonchan ichom tauvin chule thil ijakai manlu jouse jong i-chang tauvin ahi.
36 From Aroer, which [is] by the edge of the Brook of Arnon, and the city which [is] by the brook, even to Gilead, there has not been a city which [is] too high for us; our God YHWH has given the whole before our faces.
Pakai, Pathen in ei-panpi uvin ahileh Aroer kiti Arnon Gorge, Gorge khopi chule agam pumpi Gilead chan geiyin abonchan ijousoh hel tauvin ahi.
37 Only, you have not drawn near to the land of the sons of Ammon—any part of the Brook of Jabbok, and cities of the hill-country, and anything which our God YHWH has [not] commanded.”
Ijeh inem itileh, Ammon mite gam dalhan Jabbok vadung chule gamsunga khopi ho, Pakai thupeh bang banga i-dalhah jal’u ahi.
