< John 19 >

1 After that Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged;
Bhai, a Pilato gubhaatolile a Yeshu gubhaakomile mishapilo.
2 and the soldiers plaited a crown of thorns, placed it on his head, and threw a purple cloak about him, and kept marching up to him,
Na bhalabhonji ashimanjola nkwaalembula, gubhaeleyenje ulemba gwa mibha, gubhaawashiyenje a Yeshu muntwe mbuti ulemba gwa shipalume, gubhaawashiyenje na nngubho ja langi ja shambalau.
3 saying, "Hail! King of the Jews!" They also gave him blow after blow with their hands.
Gubhaajendelenje, bhalinkutinji “Tunakunkomaya a mpalume bha Bhayaudi!” Gubhaakomilenje mapapa mmatukwa.
4 Pilate again came forth and said to the people, "See, I am going to bring his out to you, that you may clearly know that I find no crime in him,"
Kungai a Pilato gubhakopweshe kabhili palanga, gubhaalugulilenje, “Nnolanje, ngunakwiya nabho kabhili kwenu mmanganya mmumanyanje kuti nne, nangashibhona shoshowe shibhalebhile.”
5 Then as Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, "BEHOLD, THE MAN!"
Bhai, a Yeshu gubhakopweshe palanga bhawete ulemba gwa mibha na nngubho ja langi ja shambalau. A Pilato gubhaalugulilenje bhandunji bhala, “Nnolanje! Abha apano.”
6 So when the chief priests and the police saw him, they shouted. "Crucify him! Crucify him!" "Take him yourselves and crucify him," said Pilate, "for I find no crime in him."
Bhai, Bhakulungwa bhaabhishila na bhalinda bhakaabhonanjeje a Yeshu gubhautiyenje lilobhe bhalinkutinji, “Mwaabhambe munshalabha! Mwaabhambe munshalabha!” A Pilato gubhaalugulilenje, “Bhai, mwaatolanje mwaashayenenji nkaabhambanje munshalabha, pabha nne ngakushibhona shibhalebhile.”
7 The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself out to be God’s Son,"
Bhayaudi gubhaajangwilenje, “Uwe tukwete shalia ja kwaukumula, pabha bhashinkwiitenda kuti Mwana jwa a Nnungu.”
8 Now when Pilate heard these words he was more alarmed than ever,
Bhai a Pilato bhakapilikaneje gene malobhego gubhapundile jogopa.
9 and entering the Praetorium again, he said to Jesus, "What is your origin?"
Bhai, gubhajinjile kabhili nnukumbi lukulu lushemwa Pulaitolio, gubhaabhushiye a Yeshu, “Mmwe kunkoposhele kwai?” Ikabheje a Yeshu bhangaajangula shindu shoshowe.
10 Jesus made no answer. So Pilate said to him. "Do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have power to release you, or power to crucify you?"
Bhai a Pilato gubhaalugulile “Nkaapinga kubheleketa na nne? Bhuli nkaakumumanya kuti nne njikola ukulungwa gwa kunngopola na gwa kummamba munshalabha?”
11 "You would have no power over me," answered Jesus, "unless it had been given you from above. For this reason he who has betrayed me to you has the greater sin."
A Yeshu gubhaajangwile, “Mmwe ngunkakweteje upalume gogowe kwangu nne gwangali pegwa na a Nnungu. Kwa nneyo jwene angamwiye kwenu mmwejo, ashikola shambi shikulungwa.”
12 After that Pilate began to seek to release him, but the Jews shouted out. "If you release this man you are no friend of the Emperor. Any man who makes himself out to be king is a rebel against the Emperor."
Tandubhila penepo a Pilato gubhaloleye shanabhuli shibhaagopole, ikabheje Bhayaudi gubhajobhelenje bhalinkutinji, “Mwaagopolaga bhenebha, mmwe mwangali shilongani na a Kaishali a mpalume bhakulu bha Loma, kila mundu akwiitenda mpalume anakwaatendebhuka a Kaishali!”
13 On hearing what they said, Pilate brought Jesus out and made him sit on the judge’s seat in a place called the Mosaic Pavement (the Hebrew name is Gabbatha).
Bhai a Pilato, bhakapilikaneje gene malobhego, gubhakopweshe nabho a Yeshu palanga, gubhatemi pashitengu sha ukumu, pashemwaga “lupenu lwa maganga” eu kwa Shiebhulania, “Gabhasha.”
14 And it was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about six o’clock in the morning. Then he said to the Jews, "Behold your King!"
Puyaliji mui malanga ga shaa shita nnei, lyubha lya kolokoya Pashaka. A Pilato gubhaalugulilenje Bhayaudi, “Mwaalolanje! A mpalume bhenunji!”
15 Then they shouted. "Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!" "Crucify your King?" said Pilate. The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar!"
Bhai, bhanganyabho gubhajobhelenje, “Mwaashoye! Mwashoye! Bhabhambwe munshalabha!” A Pilato gubhaabhushiyenje, “Bhuli naabhambe munshalabha a mpalume bhenunji?” Bhakulungwanji bhaabhishila gubhajangwilenje, “Uwe twangali a mpalume ikabhe a Kaishali!”
16 So then he gave him over to them to be crucified.
Penepo a Pilato gubhaakamwiyenje a Yeshu nkupinga bhaabhambe munshalabha, na bhalabhonji gubhaaposhelenje. Bhai, gubhaatolilenje a Yeshu.
17 So they took Jesus, who went forth bearing his own cross, to a place called The Place of a Skull - in the Hebrew tongue, Golgotha.
Na bhalabho gubhakopweshe palanga akuno bhajigele nshalabha gwabho, kuloya mmbali pashemwaga “Shibhanga sha Ntwe” kwa Shiebhulania Goligota.
18 There they crucified him; and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.
Penepo nipubhaabhambilenje munshalabha a Yeshu na bhandu bhananji bhabhili, jumo nkono gwabho gwa nnilo, na juna nkono nshinda gwabho na a Yeshu pakati pakati.
19 And Pilate moreover wrote an inscription and placed it above the cross. What he wrote was, "JESUS, THE NAZARENE, KING OF THE JEWS"
Na bhalabho a Pilato gubhajandishe mmbila panani nshalabha, jijandikwe nnei, “A YESHU BHANASHALETI, A MPALUME BHA BHAYAUDI.”
20 This inscription was read by many of the Jews, because the place where they crucified Jesus was near the city, and the inscription was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.
Bhai Bhayaudi bhabhagwinji gubhashomilenje jene mmbilajo, pabha pubhaabhambilenje munshalabha a Yeshu, pupaaliji tome na shilambo. Na jene mmbilajo pujajandikwe kwa Shiebhulania na Shilatini na Shigiliki.
21 So the high priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write ‘King of the Jews,’ but ‘He said, I am King of the Jews.’"
Bhai, bhakulungwanji bha bhaabhishila na Bhayaudi gubhaalugulilenje a Pilato, “Nnajandishe. ‘A mpalume bha Bhayaudi,’ ikabhe bhashinkubheleketa bhayene kuti, ‘Nne mpalume jwa Bhayaudi.’”
22 Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written!"
A Pilato gubhajangwile, “Gunyandishe, nigajandishe!”
23 After the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, to each soldier a part, and the tunic. Now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom;
Ashimanjola bhala bhakaabhambanjeje a Yeshu munshalabha, gubhatolilenje nngubho yabho, gubhagebhenyenje maungu nsheshe, malinga shibhalinginji. Gubhatolilenje na kanshu jabho, jenejo pujaliji ja lukwa.
24 so the soldiers said one to another. "Let us not tear it. Let us draw lots, to see whose it shall be" - that the Scripture might be fulfilled. They divided my garments among them, For my raiment did they cast lots. This was what the soldiers did.
Bhai, gubhalugulilenenje, “Tunajipapule, ikabhe tutende shikoma jibhe jika gani.” Genego gashinkutendeka nkupinga gatimilile Majandiko ga Ukonjelo ga taya, “Bhashinkugabhananga nngubho yangu, Na nngubho jangu gubhaagulenje kwa shikoma.” Bhai nneyo, ni shibhatendilenje ashimanjola bhala.
25 Now there stood near the cross of Jesus, his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
Tome na nshalabha gwa a Yeshu bhashinkujimangana anyinabhabho, na a Malia akulu bhabho anyinabhabho akongobhabho a Kileopashi, na a Malia Magidalena.
26 When Jesus saw his mother, and standing near her the disciple whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Woman behold your son."
Bhai, a Yeshu bhakaabhoneje anyinabhabho na nkujiganywa jubhampinjile jula ajimi patome, gubhaalugulile anyinabhabho, “A Mama! Munnole, mwanagwenu.”
27 Then he said to the disciple, "Behold your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her to his home.
Kungai gubhaannugulile nkujiganywa jula. “Mwaalole, anyina bhenu.” Kutandubhila penepo, bhaajiganywa bhala gubhaatolile anyina bhabho a Yeshu bhakatame kunngwabho.
28 After that, when Jesus knew that everything was now accomplished, he said in fulfilment of the words of Scripture, "I am thirsty."
Kungai, a Yeshu akuno bhalikumumanya kuti gowe gamalile, nkupinga Majandiko ga Ukonjelo gatimilile, gubhashite, “Njikola njota.”
29 There was a jar full of vinegar standing there; and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon a stalk of hyssop, and put it to his lips.
Penepo jashinkupagwa bhakuli jigumbeywe divai ja shashama. Bhai, gubhashubhikenje shiponji mmakuli ja divai ja shashama jila, gubhatabhilenje nnubhalabhala lwa nkongo ushemwa ishopo, gubhaabhishilenje pa kang'wa.
30 Then after he had taken the vinegar, Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED!" And bowing his head, he yielded up his spirit.
Bhai a Yeshu bhakapapileje divai ja shashama jila, gubhashite, “Gamalile!” Kungai gubhakotime nntwe, gubhamalile.
31 It was Preparation Day, so in order to prevent the bodies’ hanging on the cross during the Sabbath (for the Sabbath was a great day) the Jews begged Pilate to have the legs broken, and the bodies taken away.
Bhai pabha pulyaaliji lyubha lya kolokoya kwa Lyubha lya Pumulila. Kwa nneyo ikapinjikwaga iilu ilepeshe munshalabha Lyubha lya Pumulila, pabha lyene lyubhalyo pulyaaliji likulungwa, Bhayaudi gubhaajujilenje a Pilato bhakaatemanje makongono bhakomelenjwe munshalabha bhala nkupinga bhawanganje shangu, na iilu yabhonji ishoywe mmishalabha.
32 So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who had been crucified with him.
Bhai, ashimanjola gubhapite kuntemanga makongono mundu jwa nntai na jwa bhili, bhakomelwenje munshalabha pamo na a Yeshu bhala.
33 But upon coming to Jesus they saw that he was already dead, and did not break his legs.
Ikabheje bhakaishilanjeje a Yeshu, gubhaaimenje bhali bhawile, kwa nneyo bhangaatemanga makongono.
34 One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a lance, and immediately blood and water flowed out.
Ikabheje linjola jumo gwabhaomile lipanga lya mmbalati, bhai gujikopweshe minyai na mashi.
35 And he who saw it has borne testimony, and his testimony is trustworthy, and he knows that he is telling the truth in order that you may believe.
Kwa nneyo, jwene agabhweni genego ni akong'ondela, nkupinga na mmanganyanji nkulupalilanje. Na gene gabheleketego ni ga kweli, numbe amumanyi kuti anabheleketa ga kweli.
36 For this happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, Not one of his bones shall be broken.
Pabha genega gashinkutendeka nkupinga Majandiko ga Ukonjelo gatimilile ga taya kuti, “Lyakwa nkali liupa lyabho limo shilitemanywe.”
37 And again another Scripture says, They shall look on him whom they have pierced.
Na majandiko gana gakuti, “Shibhannolanje jubhanng'omilenje lipanga jula.”
38 After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but in secret because of fear of the Jews, asked Pilate for permission to take the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him leave. So he came and took the body.
Gakapiteje genego, a Yoshepu bha ku Alimataya, gubhaajujile a Pilato bhatole shiilu sha a Yeshu. A Yoshepu pubhaliji bhaajiganywa bha a Yeshu, ikabheje kwa nng'iyo, pabha bhatendaga kwaajogopanga ashikalongolele bha Shiyaudi. Bhai, a Pilato gubhajitishiye. Kwa nneyo a Yoshepu gubhapite shoya shiilu sha a Yeshu.
39 Nicodemus also (the one who visited Jesus by night, at first) came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, weighing nearly a hundred pounds.
Na bhalabho a Nikodemo bhene bhaajendele a Yeshu shilo gwa ntai bhala, gubhapite na a Yoshepu bhali bhajigele mauta ga nunjila, gaengenywe na manemane na lubhani kilo makumi gatatu.
40 So they took the body of Jesus and wound it in linen with the spices, according to the Jewish mode of burial.
Bhai, gubhatolilenje shiilu sha a Yeshu shila, gubhailijililenje shanda shammbone sha katani bhali bhatajilenje mauta malinga pugwaliji nkubho gwa Bhayaudi nkushika.
41 There was a garden near the place where Jesus had been crucified, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid.
Pubhabhambilwe munshalabha a Yeshu pala, jashinkupagwa bhushitani na nkati jakwe lyashinkupagwa likabhuli lya ambi likanabhe shikwa mundu jojowe.
42 Here, because of its being Preparation Day, and as the tomb was near by, they placed Jesus.
Pabha Bhayaudi pubhalinginji nkukolokoya ga Lyubha lya Pumulila, na likabhulilyo pulyaaliji pa tome, bhai gubhaabhishilenje a Yeshu mwenemo.
