1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, be made for all people:
さればわれ第一に勸む、凡ての人のため、王たち及び凡て權を有つものの爲に、おのおの願・祈祷・とりなし・感謝せよ。
2 for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
是われら敬虔と謹嚴とを盡して、安らかに靜に一生を過さん爲なり。
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
斯くするは美事にして、我らの救主なる神の御意に適ふことなり。
4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
神は凡ての人の救はれて、眞理を悟るに至らんことを欲し給ふ。
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, a human, Meshikha Yeshua,
それ神は唯一なり、また神と人との間の中保も唯一にして、人なるキリスト・イエス是なり。
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;
彼は己を與へて凡ての人の贖價となり給へり、時 至りて證せらる。
7 to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the non-Jews in faith and truth.
我これが爲に立てられて宣傳者となり、使徒となり（我は眞を言ひて虚僞を言はず）また信仰と眞とをもて異邦人を教ふる教師となれり。
8 I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.
これ故にわれ望む、男は怒らず爭はず、何れの處にても潔き手をあげて祈らんことを。
9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing;
また女は恥を知り、愼みて宜しきに合ふ衣にて己を飾り、編みたる頭髮と金と眞珠と價 貴き衣とを飾とせず、
10 but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
善き業をもて飾とせんことを。これ神を敬はんと公言する女に適へる事なり。
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.
女は凡てのこと從順にして靜に道を學ぶべし。
12 But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
われ女の教ふることと男の上に權を執ることとを許さず、ただ靜にすべし。
13 For Adom was first formed, then Khawa.
それアダムは前に造られ、エバは後に造られたり。
14 Adom was not deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;
アダムは惑されず、女は惑されて罪に陷りたるなり。
15 but she will be delivered through the childbirth, if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with good judgment.
然れど女もし愼みて信仰と愛と潔とに居らば、子を生むことに因りて救はるべし。
