Joshua 18

1 The whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled themselves together at Shiloh, and set up the Tent of Meeting there. The land was subdued before them.

১পরে ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদের সমস্ত মণ্ডলী শীলোতে সমবেত হয়ে সেই জায়গায় সমাগম-তাঁবু স্থাপন করল; দেশ তাদের কাছে পরাজিত হয়েছিল।

2 Seven tribes remained among the children of Israel, which had not yet divided their inheritance.

২ঐ দিনের ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদের মধ্যে সাত বংশ অবশিষ্ট ছিল, যারা নিজেদের অধিকার ভাগ করে নেয় নি।

3 Joshua said to the children of Israel, "How long will you neglect to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah, the God of your fathers, has given you?

৩যিহোশূয় ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদের বললেন, “তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের যে দেশ দিয়েছেন, সেই দেশে গিয়ে তা অধিকার করতে তোমরা আর কত দিন দেরি করবে?

4 Appoint for you three men of each tribe. I will send them, and they shall arise, walk through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance; and they shall come to me.

৪তোমরা নিজেদের এক একটি বংশের মধ্যে থেকে তিনজন করে দাও; আমি তাদেরকে পাঠাব, তারা উঠে দেশের সমস্ত জায়গা ঘুরে দেখবে এবং প্রত্যেকের অধিকার অনুসারে তার বর্ণনা লিখে নিয়ে আমার কাছে ফিরে আসবে।

5 They shall divide it into seven portions. Judah shall live in his borders on the south, and the house of Joseph shall live in their borders on the north.

৫তারা তা সাত ভাগে ভাগ করবে; দক্ষিণ দিকে যিহূদা তাদের সীমাতে থাকবে এবং উত্তর দিকে যোষেফের গোষ্ঠী তাদের সীমাতে থাকবে।

6 You shall survey the land into seven parts, and bring the description here to me; and I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah our God.

৬তোমরা দেশটিকে সাত অংশে ভাগ করে তার বর্ণনা লিখে আমার কাছে আনবে; আমি এই জায়গায় আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তোমাদের জন্য গুলিবাঁট করব।

7 For the Levites have no portion among you; for the priesthood of Jehovah is their inheritance. Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them."

৭কারণ তোমাদের মধ্যে লেবীয়দের কোন অংশ নেই, কারণ সদাপ্রভুর যাজকত্বপদ তাদের অধিকার; আর গাদ ও রূবেণ এবং মনঃশির অর্ধেক বংশ যর্দ্দনের পূর্ব পারে যা সদাপ্রভুর দাস মোশির দেওয়া অধিকার তারা পেয়েছে।”

8 The men arose and went. Joshua commanded those who went to survey the land, saying, "Go walk through the land, survey it, and come again to me. I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah in Shiloh."

৮পরে সেই লোকেরা উঠে চলে গেল; আর যারা সেই দেশের বর্ণনা লিখতে গেল, যিহোশূয় তাদেরকে এই আদেশ দিলেন, “তোমরা গিয়ে দেশের সমস্ত জায়গা ঘুরে দেশের বর্ণনা লিখে নিয়ে আমার কাছে ফিরে এস; তাতে আমি এই শীলোতে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তোমাদের জন্য গুলিবাঁট করব।”

9 The men went and passed through the land, and surveyed it by cities into seven portions on a scroll. They came to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh.

৯পরে ঐ লোকেরা গিয়ে দেশের সমস্ত জায়গা ঘুরে দেখল এবং নগর অনুযায়ী সাত অংশ করে বইতে তার বর্ণনা লিখল; পরে শীলোতে অবস্থিত শিবিরে যিহোশূয়ের কাছে ফিরে গেল।

10 Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before Jehovah. There Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions.

১০আর যিহোশূয় শীলোতে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তাদের জন্য গুলিবাঁট করলেন; যিহোশূয় সেই জায়গায় ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদের বিভাগ অনুসারে দেশ তাদেরকে ভাগ করে দিলেন।

11 The lot of the tribe of the descendants of Benjamin came up according to their families. The border of their lot went out between the descendants of Judah and the descendants of Joseph.

১১আর গুলিবাঁট অনুযায়ী এক অংশ নিজেদের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে বিন্যামীন-সন্তানদের বংশের নামে উঠল। গুলিবাঁটে নির্দিষ্ট তাদের সীমা যিহূদা-সন্তানদের ও যোষেফের সন্তানদের মধ্যে হল।

12 Their border on the north quarter was from the Jordan. The border went up to the side of Jericho on the north, and went up through the hill country westward. It ended at the wilderness of Beth Aven.

১২তাদের উত্তর দিকের সীমা যর্দ্দন থেকে যিরীহোর উত্তর দিক দিয়ে গেল, পরে পার্বত্য প্রদেশের মধ্য দিয়ে পশ্চিম দিকে বৈৎ-আবনের মরুভূমি পর্যন্ত গেল।

13 The border passed along from there to Luz, to the side of Luz (that is, Bethel), southward. The border went down to Ataroth Addar, by the mountain that lies on the south of Lower Beth Horon.

১৩সেখান থেকে ঐ সীমা লূসে, দক্ষিণে লূসের দিকে অর্থাৎ বৈথেলের প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত গেল এবং নিচের বৈৎ-হোরোণের দক্ষিণে অবস্থিত পর্বত দিয়ে অটারোৎ-অদ্দরের দিকে নেমে গেল।

14 The border extended, and turned around on the west quarter southward, from the mountain that lies before Beth Horon southward; and ended at Kiriath Baal (that is, Kiriath Jearim), a city of the descendants of Judah. This was the west quarter.

১৪সেখান থেকে ঐ সীমা ফিরে পশ্চিম দিকে, বৈৎ-হোরোণের দক্ষিণে অবস্থিত পর্বত থেকে দক্ষিণ দিকে গেল; আর যিহূদা-সন্তানদের কিরিয়ৎ বাল অর্থাৎ যার নাম কিরিয়ৎ-যিয়ারীম সেই নগর পর্যন্ত গেল; এটি পশ্চিম দিকে।

15 The south quarter was from the farthest part of Kiriath Jearim. The border went out westward, and went out to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.

১৫আর দক্ষিণ দিকে কিরিয়ৎ-যিরারীমের প্রান্ত থেকে আরম্ভ হল এবং সে সীমা পশ্চিম দিকে বার হয়ে নিপ্তোহের জলের উনুই পর্যন্ত গেল।

16 The border went down to the farthest part of the mountain that lies before the Valley of Ben Hinnom, which is in the Valley of Rephaim northward. It went down to the Valley of Hinnom, to the slope of the Jebusites southward, and went down to En Rogel.

১৬আর ঐ সীমা হিম্নোম সন্তানের উপত্যকার সামনে অবস্থিত ও রফায়ীম তলভূমির উত্তর দিকের পর্বতের প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত নেমে গেল এবং হিম্নোমের উপত্যকায়, যিবূষের দক্ষিণ প্রান্তে নেমে এসে ঐন্‌-রোগেলে গেল।

17 It extended northward, went out at En Shemesh, and went out to Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim. It went down to the Stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.

১৭আর উত্তরদিকে ফিরে ঐন্‌-শেমশে গেল এবং অদুম্মীম উপরে উঠে যাওয়ার পথের সামনে অবস্থিত গলীলোতের থেকে বার হয়ে রূবেণ-সন্তান বোহনের পাথর পর্যন্ত নেমে গেল।

18 And it passed on to the north to the shoulder of Beth Arabah, and went down to the Arabah.

১৮আর উত্তর দিকে অরাবা তলভূমির পাশ দিয়ে গিয়ে অরাবা তলভূমিতে নেমে গেল।

19 The border passed along to the side of Beth Hoglah northward; and the border ended at the north bay of the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan. This was the south border.

১৯আর ঐ সীমা উত্তর দিকে বৈৎ-হগ্লার প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত গেল; যর্দ্দনের দক্ষিণ প্রান্তের লবণ-সমুদ্রের উত্তর খাড়ী সেই সীমার প্রান্ত ছিল; তা দক্ষিণ সীমা।

20 The Jordan was its border on the east quarter. This was the inheritance of the descendants of Benjamin, by the borders around it, according to their families.

২০আর পূর্ব দিকে যর্দ্দন তার সীমা ছিল। চারিদিকে তার সীমা অনুসারে, নিজের নিজের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে, বিন্যামীন-সন্তানদের এই অধিকার ছিল।

21 Now the cities of the tribe of the descendants of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth Hoglah, and Emek Keziz,

২১নিজের নিজের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে বিন্যামীন-সন্তানদের বংশের নগর যিরীহো, বৈৎ-হগ্লা, এমক-কশিশ,

22 and Beth Arabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel,

২২বৈৎ-অরাবা, সমারয়িম, বৈথেল,

23 and Avvim, and Parah, and Ophrah,

২৩অব্বীম, পারা অফ্রা,

24 and Chephar Ammoni, and Ophni, and Geba; twelve cities with their villages.

২৪কফর-অম্নোনী, অফ্‌নি ও গেবা; তাদের গ্রামের সঙ্গে বারটি নগর ছিল।

25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,

২৫গিবিয়োন, রামা, বেরোৎ,

26 and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

২৬মিস্‌পী, কফীরা, মোৎসা,

27 and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

২৭রেকম, যির্পেল, তরলা,

28 and Zelah, Haeleph, and Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), and Gibeath, and Kiriath Jearim; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the descendants of Benjamin according to their families.

২৮সেলা, এলফ, যিবূষ অর্থাৎ যিরূশালেম, গিবিয়াৎ ও কিরিয়ৎ, তাদের গ্রামের সঙ্গে চৌদ্দটি নগর। নিজের নিজের গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে বিন্যামীন-সন্তানদের এই অধিকার।
