Genesis 10

1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.

ואלה תולדת בני נח שם חם ויפת ויולדו להם בנים אחר המבול׃

2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

בני יפת גמר ומגוג ומדי ויון ותבל ומשך ותירס׃

3 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

ובני גמר אשכנז וריפת ותגרמה׃

4 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

ובני יון אלישה ותרשיש כתים ודדנים׃

5 From these, the coastlands of the nations separated into their territories, every one according to its language, according to their families, in their nations.

מאלה נפרדו איי הגוים בארצתם איש ללשנו למשפחתם בגויהם׃

6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

ובני חם כוש ומצרים ופוט וכנען׃

7 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

ובני כוש סבא וחוילה וסבתה ורעמה וסבתכא ובני רעמה שבא ודדן׃

8 Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one on the earth.

וכוש ילד את נמרד הוא החל להיות גבר בארץ׃

9 He was a mighty hunter before God. Therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before God."

הוא היה גבר ציד לפני יהוה על כן יאמר כנמרד גבור ציד לפני יהוה׃

10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Akkad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

ותהי ראשית ממלכתו בבל וארך ואכד וכלנה בארץ שנער׃

11 Out of that land he went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh, and Rehoboth Ir, and Calah,

מן הארץ ההוא יצא אשור ויבן את נינוה ואת רחבת עיר ואת כלח׃

12 and Resen, between Nineveh and the great city of Calah.

ואת רסן בין נינוה ובין כלח הוא העיר הגדלה׃

13 And Mizraim became the father of Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

ומצרים ילד את לודים ואת ענמים ואת להבים ואת נפתחים׃

14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, which the Philistines descended from, and Caphtorim.

ואת פתרסים ואת כסלחים אשר יצאו משם פלשתים ואת כפתרים׃

15 And Canaan became the father of Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth,

וכנען ילד את צידן בכרו ואת חת׃

16 and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites,

ואת היבוסי ואת האמרי ואת הגרגשי׃

17 and the Hivites, and the Arkites, and the Sinites,

ואת החוי ואת הערקי ואת הסיני׃

18 and the Arvadites, and the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were spread abroad.

ואת הארודי ואת הצמרי ואת החמתי ואחר נפצו משפחות הכנעני׃

19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you go toward Gerar, to Gaza; as you go toward Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboiim, to Lasha.

ויהי גבול הכנעני מצידן באכה גררה עד עזה באכה סדמה ועמרה ואדמה וצבים עד לשע׃

20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, in their nations.

אלה בני חם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם בגויהם׃

21 To Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, to him also were children born.

ולשם ילד גם הוא אבי כל בני עבר אחי יפת הגדול׃

22 The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.

בני שם עילם ואשור וארפכשד ולוד וארם׃

23 The sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

ובני ארם עוץ וחול וגתר ומש׃

24 And Arpachshad became the father of Kenan. And Kenan became the father of Shelah. And Shelah became the father of Eber.

וארפכשד ילד את שלח ושלח ילד את עבר׃

25 To Eber were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Joktan.

ולעבר ילד שני בנים שם האחד פלג כי בימיו נפלגה הארץ ושם אחיו יקטן׃

26 And Joktan became the father of Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

ויקטן ילד את אלמודד ואת שלף ואת חצרמות ואת ירח׃

27 and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

ואת הדורם ואת אוזל ואת דקלה׃

28 and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

ואת עובל ואת אבימאל ואת שבא׃

29 and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

ואת אופר ואת חוילה ואת יובב כל אלה בני יקטן׃

30 Their dwelling was from Mesha, as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.

ויהי מושבם ממשא באכה ספרה הר הקדם׃

31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, after their nations.

אלה בני שם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם לגויהם׃

32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations, and from these the nations branched out on the earth after the flood.

אלה משפחת בני נח לתולדתם בגויהם ומאלה נפרדו הגוים בארץ אחר המבול׃
