< Psalms 108 >

1 My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· and I will give kavod ·weighty glory·.
A Song, a Psalm Of David. My heart is fixed, O God; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory.
2 Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn.
Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake right early.
3 I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you, Adonai, among the nations. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to you among the peoples.
I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the peoples: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
4 For your cheshed ·loving-kindness· is great above the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
For thy mercy is great above the heavens, and thy truth [reacheth] unto the skies.
5 Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your kavod ·weighty glory· be over all the earth.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth.
6 That your yadid ·beloved· may be delivered, save with your right hand, and answer us.
That thy beloved may be delivered, save with thy right hand, and answer us.
7 God has spoken from his sanctuary: “In triumph, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Sukkot.
God hath spoken in his holiness; I will exult: I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
8 Gilead is mine. Manasseh [Causing to forget] is mine. Ephraim [Fruit] also is my helmet. Judah [Praised] is my scepter.
Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of mine head; Judah is my sceptre.
9 Moab [From father] is my wash pot. I will toss my sandal on Edom [Red]. I will shout over Philistia.”
Moab is my washpot; upon Edom will I cast my shoe: over Philistia will I shout.
10 Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who has led me to Edom [Red]?
Who will bring me into the fenced city? who hath led me unto Edom?
11 Haven’t you rejected us, God? You don’t go out, God, with our armies.
Hast not thou cast us off, O God? and thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.
12 Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is vain.
Give us help against the adversary: for vain is the help of man.
13 Through God, we will do valiantly. For it is he who will tread down our enemies.
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our adversaries.
