Matthew 18
1 On the same occasion the disciples came to Jesus, and asked him, ‘Who is really the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’
ସେତେବେଳେ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ପଚାରିଲେ, ତେବେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରାଜ୍ୟରେ କିଏ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ?
2 Jesus called a little child to him, and placed it in the middle of them, and then said,
ସେ ଗୋଟିଏ ସାନ ପିଲାକୁ ପାଖକୁ ଡାକି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଠିଆ କରାଇଲେ,
3 ‘I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven at all.
“ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଫେରି ସାନ ପିଲା ପରି ନ ହେଲେ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରକାରେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରାଜ୍ୟରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
4 Therefore, anyone who will humble themselves like this child – that person will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
ଅତଏବ ଯେ କେହି ଏହି ସାନ ପିଲା ପରି ଆପଣାକୁ ନମ୍ର କରେ, ସେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ।
5 And anyone who, for the sake of my name, welcomes even one little child like this, is welcoming me.
ଆଉ ଯେ କେହି ମୋ ନାମରେ ଏହିପରି ଗୋଟିଏ ସାନ ପିଲାକୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରେ, ସେ ମୋତେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରେ;
6 But, if anyone puts temptation in the way of one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be best for them to be sunk in the depths of the sea with a great millstone hung round their neck.
କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେ କେହି ମୋʼଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଥିବା ଏହି କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣକର ବିଘ୍ନର କାରଣ ହୁଏ, ତାହା ବେକରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ବଡ଼ ଚକିପଥର ଟଙ୍ଗାଯାଇ ତାହାକୁ ମହାସାଗରରେ ଅଗାଧ ଜଳରେ ବୁଡ଼ାଇ ଦିଆଯାଇଥିଲେ ତାହା ପକ୍ଷରେ ଭଲ ହୋଇଥାଆନ୍ତା।
7 Alas for the world because of such temptations! There cannot but be temptations but sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!
ହାୟ, ସଂସାର ବିଘ୍ନ ସକାଶେ ସନ୍ତାପର ପାତ୍ର; ବିଘ୍ନ ତ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଘଟିବ, କିନ୍ତୁ ହାୟ, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିଘ୍ନ ଘଟେ, ସେ ସନ୍ତାପର ପାତ୍ର।
8 ‘If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off, and throw it away. It would be better for you to enter life maimed or lame, than to have both hands, or both feet, and be thrown into the fire that never goes out. (aiōnios g166)
ତୁମ୍ଭର ହସ୍ତ ଅବା ପାଦ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭର ବିଘ୍ନର କାରଣ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ତାହା କାଟି ଫୋପାଡ଼ିଦିଅ; ଦୁଇ ହସ୍ତ ଓ ଦୁଇ ପାଦ ନେଇ ଅନନ୍ତ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ପଡ଼ିବା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବରଂ ପଙ୍ଗୁ ଅବା ଖଞ୍ଜ ହୋଇ ଜୀବନରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ତୁମ୍ଭ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଭଲ। (aiōnios g166)
9 If your eye causes you to sin, take it out, and throw it away. It would be better for you to enter the life with only one eye, than to have both eyes and be thrown into the fires of Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭର ବିଘ୍ନର କାରଣ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ତାହାକୁ ଉପାଡ଼ି ଫୋପାଡ଼ିଦିଅ; ଦୁଇ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ନେଇ ଅଗ୍ନିମୟ ନର୍କରେ ପଡ଼ିବା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବରଂ ଏକ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ନେଇ ଜୀବନରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ତୁମ୍ଭ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଭଲ। (Geenna g1067)
10 Beware of despising one of these little ones, for in heaven, I tell you, their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
ସାବଧାନ, ଏହି କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଜଣକୁ ହିଁ ତୁଚ୍ଛଜ୍ଞାନ କର ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଦୂତମାନେ ସର୍ବଦା ମୋହର ସ୍ୱର୍ଗସ୍ଥ ପିତାଙ୍କ ମୁଖ ଦର୍ଶନ କରନ୍ତି।
[କାରଣ ଯାହା ହଜିଅଛି, ତାହା ରକ୍ଷା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ଆସିଅଛନ୍ତି।]
12 ‘What think you? If a person owns a hundred sheep, and one of them strays, will the person not leave the ninety-nine on the hills, and go and search for the one that is straying?
ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଅଣ ମନେ କଲ? କୌଣସି ଲୋକର ଯଦି ଶହେ ମେଣ୍ଢା ଥାଏ, ଆଉ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ହଜିଯାଏ, ତେବେ କଅଣ ଅନେଶତକୁ ପର୍ବତରେ ଛାଡ଼ି ସେ ଯାଇ ହଜିଯାଇଥିବା ମେଣ୍ଢାଟି ଖୋଜେ ନାହିଁ?
13 And, if they succeed in finding it, I tell you that they rejoice more over that one sheep than over the ninety-nine which did not stray.
ଆଉ ଯଦି ସେ ତାହାକୁ ପାଏ, ତାହାହେଲେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ଯେଉଁ ଅନେଶତଟି ହଜି ଯାଇ ନ ଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଏହି ଗୋଟିକ ଲାଗି ସେ ଅଧିକ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରେ।
14 So, too, it is the will of my Father who is in heaven that not one of these little ones should be lost.
ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଏହି କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଯେ ଗୋଟିଏ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହୁଏ, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସ୍ୱର୍ଗସ୍ଥ ପିତାଙ୍କର ଇଚ୍ଛା ନୁହେଁ।
15 ‘If your brother or sister does wrong, go to them and convince them of their fault when you are both alone. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭାଇ ପାପ କରେ, ତେବେ ଯାଇ କେବଳ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୁଇ ଜଣଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତାହାକୁ ତାହାର ଦୋଷ ଦେଖାଅ; ଯଦି ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କଥା ଶୁଣେ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଭାଇ କି ଲାଭ କଲ।
16 But, if they do not listen to you, take with you one or two others, so that on the evidence of two or three witnesses, every word may be put beyond dispute.
କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ସେ ନ ଶୁଣେ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଆଉ ଜଣେ ବା ଦୁଇ ଜଣକୁ ନେଇ ଯାଅ, ଯେପରି ଦୁଇ ବା ତିନି ସାକ୍ଷୀଙ୍କ ମୁଖରେ ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ସ୍ଥିର କରାଯିବ।
17 If they refuse to listen to them, speak to the church; and, if they also refuse to listen to the church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax-gatherer.
ତଥାପି ଯଦି ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ନ ମାନେ, ତେବେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀକୁ କୁହ, ଓ ଯଦି ସେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ କଥା ମଧ୍ୟ ନ ମାନେ, ତେବେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଅଣଯିହୁଦୀ ଓ କରଗ୍ରାହୀ ପରି ହେଉ।
18 ‘I tell you, all that you forbid on earth will be held in heaven to be forbidden, and all that you allow on earth will be held in heaven to be allowed.
ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ଯାହାସବୁ ବନ୍ଦ କରିବ, ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ସେହିସବୁ ବନ୍ଦ ରହିବ, ପୁଣି, ପୃଥିବୀରେ ଯାହାସବୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବ, ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ସେହିସବୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ରହିବ।
19 Again, I tell you that, if but two of you on earth agree as to what they will pray for, whatever it be, it will be granted them by my Father who is in heaven.
ପୁନଶ୍ଚ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଅଛି, ପୃଥିବୀରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ଯେକୌଣସି ବିଷୟ ଏକମନା ହୋଇ ଯାହା କିଛି ମାଗିବେ, ତାହା ମୋହର ସ୍ୱର୍ଗସ୍ଥ ପିତାଙ୍କ କର୍ତ୍ତୃକ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟିବ।
20 For where two or three have come together in my name, I am present with them.’
କାରଣ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଦୁଇ କି ତିନି ଜଣ ମୋ ନାମରେ ଏକତ୍ର ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଅଛି।”
21 Then Peter came up, and said to Jesus, ‘Master, how often am I to forgive someone who wrongs me? As many as seven times?’
ସେତେବେଳେ ପିତର ତାହାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି ପଚାରିଲେ, ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, କେତେ ଥର ମୋହର ଭାଇ ମୋ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ କଲେ ମୁଁ କ୍ଷମା କରିବି?
22 But Jesus answered, ‘Not seven times, but seventy times seven.
କି ସାତ ଥର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ? ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କେବଳ ସାତ ଥର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ କହୁ ନାହିଁ,
23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.
ମାତ୍ର ସତୁରି ଗୁଣ ସାତ ଥର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ। ଅତଏବ, ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରାଜ୍ୟ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ହିସାବ କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛୁକ ଜଣେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସଦୃଶ।
24 When he had begun to do so, one of them was brought to him who owed him ten thousand bags of gold;
ସେ ହିସାବ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରନ୍ତେ ଦଶ ହଜାର ରୌପ୍ୟ-ମୁଦ୍ରା ଋଣ କରିଥିବା ଜଣେ ଦାସ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଛାମୁକୁ ଅଣାଗଲା।
25 and, as he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold towards the payment of the debt, together with his wife, and his children, and everything that he had.
କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାର ପରିଶୋଧ କରିବାକୁ କିଛି ନ ଥିବାରୁ ତାହାର ପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାକୁ ଏବଂ ତାହାର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ, ପିଲା-ପିଲି ଓ ସର୍ବସ୍ୱ ବିକ୍ରୟ କରି ପରିଶୋଧ ନେବାକୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ।
26 The servant threw himself down on the ground before him and said “Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.”
ତେଣୁ ସେହି ଦାସ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଭୂମିଷ୍ଠ ପ୍ରଣାମ କରି କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା, ‘ଆପଣ ମୋ ବିଷୟରେ ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଧରନ୍ତୁ, ମୁଁ ଆପଣକୁ ସବୁ ପରିଶୋଧ କରିଦେବି।’
27 The master was moved with compassion; and he let him go, and forgave him the debt.
ସେଥିରେ ସେହି ଦାସର ପ୍ରଭୁ ଦୟା କରି ତାହାକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଦେଲେ ଓ ତାହାର ଋଣ କ୍ଷମା କଲେ।
28 But, on going out, that same servant came upon one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. Seizing him by the throat, he said “Pay what you owe me.”
କିନ୍ତୁ ସେହି ଦାସ ବାହାରିଯାଇ ତାହାଠାରୁ ଏକ ଶହ ଦିନର ମଜୁରୀ ସମାନ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଋଣ କରିଥିବା ଜଣେ ସହଦାସର ଦେଖା ପାଇ ତାହାକୁ ଧରି ତାହାର ଗଳା ଚିପି କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା, ତୁ ଯାହା ଧାରୁ, ଶୁଝିଦେ।
29 His fellow servant threw himself on the ground and begged for mercy. “Have patience with me,” he said, “and I will pay you.”
ତେଣୁ ତାହାର ସହଦାସ ଭୂମିଷ୍ଠ ହୋଇ ତାହାକୁ ବିନତି କରି କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା, ‘ଆପଣ ମୋʼ ବିଷୟରେ ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଧରନ୍ତୁ, ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ପରିଶୋଧ କରିଦେବି।’
30 But the other would not, but went and put him in prison until he should pay his debt.
ମାତ୍ର ସେ ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଯାଇ ଋଣ ପରିଶୋଧ ନ କରିବା ଯାଏ ତାହାକୁ କାରାଗାରରେ ପକାଇଦେଲା।
31 When his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and went to their master and laid the whole matter before him.
ତେଣୁ ତାହାର ସହଦାସମାନେ ଏହି ଘଟଣା ଦେଖି ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦୁଃଖିତ ହେଲେ ଓ ଯାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଘଟଣା ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରି ଜଣାଇଲେ।
32 So the master sent for the servant, and said to him “You wicked servant! When you begged me for mercy, I forgave you the whole of that debt.
ସେଥିରେ ତାହାର ପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାକୁ ପାଖକୁ ଡକାଇ କହିଲେ ‘ରେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଦାସ, ତୁ ମୋତେ ବିନତି କରିବାରୁ ମୁଁ ତୋର ସେହି ସମସ୍ତ ଋଣ କ୍ଷମା କଲି;
33 Shouldn’t you, also, to have shown mercy to your fellow servant, just as I showed mercy to you?”
ମୁଁ ଯେରୂପେ ତୋତେ ଦୟା କଲି, ସେରୂପେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆପଣାର ସହଦାସକୁ କ୍ଷମା କରିବା ତୋହର କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ ନ ଥିଲା?’
34 Then his master, in anger, handed him over to the jailers, until he should pay the whole of his debt.
ଆଉ, ତାହାର ପ୍ରଭୁ ରାଗିଯାଇ ସମସ୍ତ ଋଣ ପରିଶୋଧ ନ କରିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତାହାକୁ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଦେବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ହାତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କଲେ।
35 So, also, will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each one of you forgives his brother or sister from your heart.’
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଯଦି ଅନ୍ତର ସହ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଭାଇକୁ କ୍ଷମା ନ କର, ତାହାହେଲେ ମୋହର ସ୍ୱର୍ଗସ୍ଥ ପିତା ହିଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର କରିବେ।”
