1 Chronicles 29

1 And David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God:

El rey David dijo a toda la asamblea: “Salomón, mi hijo, a quien sólo Dios ha elegido, es todavía joven y tierno, y la obra es grande; porque el palacio no es para el hombre, sino para Yahvé Dios.

2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the [things of] gold, and the silver for the [things of] silver, and the brass for the [things of] brass, the iron for the [things of] iron, and wood for the [things of] wood; onyx stones, and [stones] to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

He preparado con todas mis fuerzas para la casa de mi Dios el oro para las cosas de oro, la plata para las cosas de plata, el bronce para las cosas de bronce, el hierro para las cosas de hierro, y la madera para las cosas de madera, también piedras de ónice, piedras para engastar, piedras para incrustaciones de diversos colores, toda clase de piedras preciosas, y piedras de mármol en abundancia.

3 Moreover also, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of mine own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house;

Además, como he puesto mi afecto en la casa de mi Dios, ya que tengo un tesoro propio de oro y plata, lo doy a la casa de mi Dios, además de todo lo que he preparado para la casa santa

4 even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal:

tres mil talentos de oro, del oro de Ofir, y siete mil talentos de plata refinada, con los que se recubrirán las paredes de las casas;

5 of gold for the [things of] gold, and of silver for the [things of] silver, and for all manner of work [to be made] by the hands of artificers. Who then offereth willingly to consecrate himself this day unto the LORD?

de oro para las cosas de oro, y de plata para las cosas de plata, y para toda clase de trabajos que se hagan por manos de artesanos. ¿Quién, pues, se ofrece voluntariamente a consagrarse hoy a Yahvé?”

6 Then the princes of the fathers’ [houses], and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king’s work, offered willingly;

Entonces los príncipes de las casas paternas, los príncipes de las tribus de Israel y los capitanes de millares y de centenas, con los jefes de la obra del rey, ofrecieron voluntariamente;

7 and they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

y dieron para el servicio de la casa de Dios de oro cinco mil talentos y diez mil dáricos, de plata diez mil talentos, de bronce dieciocho mil talentos y de hierro cien mil talentos.

8 And they with whom [precious] stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Las personas que encontraron piedras preciosas las entregaron al tesoro de la casa de Yahvé, bajo la mano de Jehiel el gersonita.

9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

Entonces el pueblo se alegró, porque ofrecía de buena gana, porque con un corazón perfecto ofrecía de buena gana a Yahvé; y el rey David también se alegró mucho.

10 Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

Por eso David bendijo a Yahvé en presencia de toda la asamblea, y dijo: “Bendito seas, Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, nuestro padre, por los siglos de los siglos.

11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth [is thine]; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Tuya es, Yahvé, la grandeza, el poder, la gloria, la victoria y la majestad. Porque todo lo que hay en los cielos y en la tierra es tuyo. Tuyo es el reino, Yahvé, y tú eres exaltado como cabeza de todo.

12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

¡Las riquezas y el honor provienen de ti, y tú gobiernas sobre todo! En tu mano está el poder y la fuerza. En tu mano está engrandecer y dar fuerza a todos.

13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

Por eso, Dios nuestro, te damos gracias y alabamos tu glorioso nombre.

14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

Pero, ¿quién soy yo, y qué es mi pueblo, para que podamos ofrecer tan voluntariamente como esto? Porque todo viene de ti, y nosotros te hemos dado de lo tuyo.

15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding.

Porque somos extranjeros ante vosotros y forasteros, como lo fueron todos nuestros padres. Nuestros días en la tierra son como una sombra, y no queda nada.

16 O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.

Yahvé, nuestro Dios, todo este depósito que hemos preparado para construirte una casa para tu santo nombre viene de tu mano, y es todo tuyo.

17 I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness, As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.

Sé también, Dios mío, que tú pruebas el corazón y te complaces en la rectitud. En cuanto a mí, en la rectitud de mi corazón he ofrecido voluntariamente todas estas cosas. Ahora he visto con alegría a tu pueblo, que está aquí presente, ofrecerte voluntariamente.

18 O LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people; and prepare their heart unto thee:

Yahvé, el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Israel, nuestros padres, mantén este deseo para siempre en el pensamiento del corazón de tu pueblo, y prepara su corazón para ti;

19 and give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.

y dale a Salomón, mi hijo, un corazón perfecto, para que guarde tus mandamientos, tus testimonios y tus estatutos, y para que haga todas estas cosas, y para que construya el palacio, para el cual he hecho provisión.”

20 And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.

Entonces David dijo a toda la asamblea: “¡Bendigan ahora a Yahvé, su Dios!” Toda la asamblea bendijo a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, e inclinaron sus cabezas y se postraron ante Yahvé y el rey.

21 And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel;

Al día siguiente de ese día sacrificaron a Yahvé y ofrecieron holocaustos a Yahvé, mil toros, mil carneros y mil corderos, con sus libaciones y sacrificios en abundancia para todo Israel,

22 and did eat and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

y aquel día comieron y bebieron ante Yahvé con gran alegría. Hicieron rey por segunda vez a Salomón, hijo de David, y lo ungieron ante Yahvé como príncipe, y a Sadoc como sacerdote.

23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

Entonces Salomón se sentó en el trono de Yahvé como rey en lugar de David, su padre, y prosperó; y todo Israel le obedeció.

24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.

Todos los príncipes, los valientes y también todos los hijos del rey David se sometieron al rey Salomón.

25 And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

El Señor engrandeció mucho a Salomón a los ojos de todo Israel, y le dio una majestad real como no la había tenido ningún rey antes de él en Israel.

26 Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

David, hijo de Isaí, reinó sobre todo Israel.

27 And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three [years] reigned he in Jerusalem.

El tiempo que reinó sobre Israel fue de cuarenta años; reinó siete años en Hebrón, y treinta y tres años en Jerusalén.

28 And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

Murió en buena vejez, lleno de días, de riquezas y de honores; y en su lugar reinó su hijo Salomón.

29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer;

Los hechos del rey David, primeros y últimos, están escritos en la historia del vidente Samuel, en la historia del profeta Natán y en la historia del vidente Gad,

30 with all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

con todo su reinado y su poderío, y los sucesos que lo involucraron a él, a Israel y a todos los reinos de las tierras.
