< Job 22 >

1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
Le hoe ty natoi’ i Elifaze nte-Temane:
2 Can a man be profitable unto God? surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.
Mahasoa an’Andrianañahare hao t’indaty? mahafitoloñ’aze hao t’ie bey moko?
3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain [to him], that thou makest thy ways perfect?
Mahafale i El-Sadai hao t’ie vantañe? aman-tambe’e hao te fonire’o tsy aman-kila o sata’oo?
4 Is it for thy fear [of him] that he reproveth thee, that he entereth with thee into judgment?
Ty fañeveña’o ama’e hao ty añendaha’e azo hizaka’e?
5 Is not thy wickedness great? neither is there any end to thine iniquities.
Tsy mitoabotse hao o tahi’oo? Tsi-vatse o hakeo’oo!
6 For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
Nangala’o tsoake ami’ty tsy vente’e i rahalahi’oy, vaho hinoli’o hiboridañe.
7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
Tsy nanjotsoa’o rano ty taliñiereñe hinoma’e, vaho nitana’o amy salikoeñey ty mahakama.
8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man, he dwelt in it.
Tompo’ ty tane toy ty fanalolahy; vaho mpioneñe ao ty aman-kasy.
9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
Nampolie’o hara’e o vantotseo, vaho navitso’o ty taña’ o bode-raeo.
10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee,
Toly t’ie arikoboñem-pandrike, naho itsoborean-ka’endrahañe;
11 Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and abundance of waters cover thee.
an-kamoromoroñañe tsy hahaisaha’o, vaho mandipots’azo ty rano bey.
12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
Tsy andindin-dikerañe ao hao t’i Andrianañahare? Isaho ka ty haabo’ o vasiañeo, t’ie an-tiotiots’ eñe.
13 And thou sayest, What doth God know? can he judge through the thick darkness?
Hoe irehe: Ino ty arofoanan’ Añahare? hahafiranga o ieñe milodolodoo hao ty fizakà’e?
14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
Mañibok’ aze o rahoñe mikopokeo tsy hahavazohoa’e, vaho an-kivoho’ i likerañey ty fidraidraita’e.
15 Wilt thou keep the old way which wicked men have trodden?
Horihe’o hao i lalañe haehae nilià’ ondaty tsereheñeoy?
16 Who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream:
O sinintoñe aolo’ ty andro’eo; ie sinaon-drano-vohitse o faha’eo,
17 Who said unto God, Depart from us; and, What can the Almighty do for us?
ie nanao ty hoe aman’ Añahare: Ihankaño zahay; naho, Ino ty mete hanoa’ i El-Sadai?
18 Yet he fired their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Mbe natsafe’e hasoa avao ty anjomba’e. Fe lavits’ ahy ty famerea’ o tsivokatseo.
19 The righteous see it, and are glad; and the innocent laugh them to scorn:
Oni’ o vañoñeo Izay, le fale, iankahafa’ o malioo añ’ inje,
20 [Saying], Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, and the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.
[ami’ty hoe]: Toe naitoeñe o malaiñe anaio, niforototoe’ ty afo o vara’ iareoo.
21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
Aa le mifampilongoa ama’e, hanintsiña’o, hitotsaha’ ty soa.
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
Ehe, rambeso am-palie’e ty Hake, vaho ahajao añ’arofo’o ao o tsara’eo.
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up; if thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents.
Mimpolia amy El-Sadai le ho vaoen-drehe, ampisitaho lavitse i kiboho’oy ty tsy to.
24 And lay thou [thy] treasure in the dust, and [the gold of] Ophir among the stones of the brooks;
Ahajao an-debok’ ao ty vara, ty volamena’ i Ofire amo vato an-torahañeo.
25 And the Almighty shall be thy treasure, and precious silver unto thee.
Le i El-Sadai ty ho vara’o, ie ty volafoty ki’e ama’o,
26 For then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
vaho hifalea’o t’i El-Sadai, le hampiandrae’o aman’ Añahare ty lahara’o.
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee; and thou shalt pay thy vows.
Hihalaly ama’e irehe, le hijanjiña’e, ie havaha’o o nifantà’oo.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and light shall shine upon thy ways.
Hisafiry irehe, le ho tafetetse vaho hireandreañe amo lala’oo ty hazavàñe.
29 When they cast [thee] down, thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; and the humble person he shall save.
Naho eo ty areke, le hanoa’o ty hoe: tsiringèvotse! ty mirè-batañe ro haha.
30 He shall deliver [even] him that is not innocent: yea, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of thine hands.
Havotso’e hao ty tsy malio tahiñe, hañaha azo ty faliom-pità’o.
