< Proverbs 10 >

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
O razan-dreha’ i Selomòo. Mahaehak’ an-drae ty anake karafito, fe mañore an-drene’e ty anadahy gege.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Tsy manjofake ty vara niazo an-kalo-tsere’e, fa mañaha an-kavilasy ty havantañañe.
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he thrusteth away the desire of the wicked.
Tsy apo’ Iehovà ho saliko ty vañoñe, fe aveve’e ty hadrao’ o lo-tserekeo.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Minday hararahañe ty satan-taña migebañe, fe mampañaleale ty fità’ i mavitrikey.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: [but] he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
Anake mahihitse ty manontoñe ami’ty asara, fe minday hasalarañe ty anake miroro am-pitatahañe.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the righteous: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
Fitahiañe ro añambone’ o vantañeo, fe mañeta-piaroteñe ty vava’ o lo-tserekeo.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
Mahahaha ty fitiahiañe o vantañeo, fe hihomake ty añara’ o lo-tserekeo.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
Mañaon-dily ty arofo’ o mahihitseo, fe hianto ty gege mitolom-bolañe.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
Midraidraitse am-panintsiñañe ty mpañavelo an-kavañonañe, fe ho fohiñe ty mitsontike an-dala mikelokeloke.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
Mampioremeñe ty mañieke, vaho ho gorèñe ty gege mivolambolañe.
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
Tsiritsiriohen-kaveloñe ty falie’ o vañoñeo, fe mañeta-piaroteñe ty vava’ o lo-tserekeo,
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all transgressions.
Mitrobo fifandierañe ty falaiñañe, fe mandembeke ze atao fiolàñe ty fikokoañe.
13 In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
Tendrek’ am-pivimbi’ o mahilalao ty hihitse, fe mañeva ty lambosi’ i po-hilalay ty kobaiñe.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.
Mañaja hilala o mahihitseo, fe antitotse ty fiantoañe ty vava’ o dagolao.
15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
Kijoly maozatse ty varam-pañaleale; fampiantoañe o rarakeo ty hapoia’iareo.
16 The labour of the righteous [tendeth] to life; the increase of the wicked to sin.
Havelo ty tambe’ o vantañeo, vaho fandilovañe ty karama’ o lo-tserekeo.
17 He is in the way of life that heedeth correction: but he that forsaketh reproof erreth.
Mañori-dàlan-kaveloñe ty mañaoñ’ anatse, fe mandridrike ty tsy mipaok’endake.
18 He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; and he that uttereth a slander is a fool.
Aman-tsoñy mandañitse ty mañetake falaiñañe, vaho gege ty mampiboele dramotse.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression: but he that refraineth his lips doeth wisely.
Tsy po-tahiñe ty maro rehake, mahihitse ka ty maha-tam-pivimby.
20 The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
Volafoty hiringiri’e ty famele’ o vantañeo; fe tsy vente’e ty tro’ o lo-tserekeo.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but the foolish die for lack of understanding.
Mamahañe maro ty fivimbi’ o vantañeo, fe mampivetrake ty dagola te tsy aman-kilala.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow therewith.
Ty fitahia’ Iehovà ro mampañaleale, vaho tsy tovoña’e anahelo.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness: and [so is] wisdom to a man of understanding.
Fihisà’ ty seretse ty mikilily, fe hihitse ty ho amy t’indaty mahilala.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: and the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
Hifetsak’ amy lo-tserekey ty ihembaña’e, fe hatolotse amy vantañey ty fisalalà’e.
25 When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
Ie misaok’ añe ty talio, tsy eo ka i lo-tserekey, fe mijadoñe nainai’e o vañoñeo.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
Hoe kile amo fihitsikeo, naho hatoeñe amo fihainoo, ty tembo amo mpañirak’ azeo.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
Fañalavañe andro ty fañeveñañe am’ Iehovà, fe ho tomoreñe ty tao’o lo-tserekeo.
28 The hope of the righteous [shall] be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
Hafaleañe ty fisalala’o vantañeo, fe ho modo ty fitamà’ o lo-tserekeo.
29 The way of the LORD is a strong hold to the upright; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
Rova maozats’ amo mahitio ty làla’ Iehovà, f’ie firotsahañe amo mpanao ratio.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
Le lia’e tsy hasiotse o vantañeo, fe tsy himoneña’ o tsereheñeo i taney.
31 The mouth of the righteous bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut off.
Mamoa hihitse ty falie’ o vañoñeo, fe haitoañe ty lela mitera.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] frowardness.
Apota’ ty fivimbi’ o mahitio ze mete akareñe, fe mengoke ty vava’ o lo-tserekeo.
