Psalms 135
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise [him], O ye servants of the LORD:
Hvalite Gospoda. Hvalite Gospodovo ime, hvalite ga, oh vi Gospodovi služabniki.
2 Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
Vi, ki stojite v hiši Gospodovi, na dvorih hiše našega Boga,
3 Praise ye the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
hvalite Gospoda, kajti Gospod je dober; prepevajte hvalnice njegovemu imenu, kajti to je prijetno.
4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, [and] Israel for his peculiar treasure.
Kajti Gospod si je izbral Jakoba in Izraela za svoj izvoljeni zaklad.
5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
Kajti jaz vem, da je Gospod velik in da je naš Gospod nad vsemi bogovi.
6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that hath he done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
Karkoli je Gospodu ugajalo, to je storil v nebesih, na zemlji, v morjih in vseh globokih krajih.
7 He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
Meglicam povzroča, da se dvigujejo od koncev zemlje, bliske dela za dež, veter prinaša iz svojih zakladnic.
8 Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
Ki je udaril egiptovske prvorojence, tako od človeka kakor [od] živali.
9 He sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
Ki je poslal simbole in čudeže v tvojo sredo, oh Egipt, na faraona in na vse njegove služabnike.
10 Who smote many nations, and slew mighty kings;
Ki je udaril velike narode in usmrtil mogočne kralje,
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:
amoréjskega kralja Sihóna, bašánskega kralja Oga in vsa kánaanska kraljestva
12 And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.
in njihovo deželo dal za dediščino, dediščino Izraelu, svojemu ljudstvu.
13 Thy name, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
Tvoje ime, oh Gospod, traja večno in tvoj spomin, oh Gospod, skozi vse rodove.
14 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself concerning his servants.
Kajti Gospod bo sodil svoje ljudstvo in se bo pokesal glede svojih služabnikov.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
Maliki poganov so srebro in zlato, delo človeških rok.
16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
Imajo usta, toda ne govorijo, imajo oči, toda ne vidijo,
17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
imajo ušesa, toda ne slišijo niti v njihovih ustih ni kakršnegakoli diha.
18 They that make them shall be like unto them; yea, every one that trusteth in them.
Tisti, ki so jih naredili, so jim podobni; tako je vsak, kdor zaupa vanje.
19 O house of Israel, bless ye the LORD: O house of Aaron, bless ye the LORD:
Blagoslavljajte Gospoda, oh hiša Izraelova. Blagoslavljajte Gospoda, oh hiša Aronova,
20 O house of Levi, bless ye the LORD: ye that fear the LORD, bless ye the LORD.
blagoslavljajte Gospoda, oh hiša Lévijeva. Vi, ki se bojite Gospoda, blagoslavljajte Gospoda.
21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
Blagoslovljen bodi Gospod s Siona, ki prebiva v Jeruzalemu. Hvalite Gospoda.
