Psalms 85

1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. LORD, Thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

Pour la fin, aux fils de Coré, psaume. Vous avez béni, Seigneur, votre terre; vous avez détourné la captivité de Jacob.

2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)

Vous avez remis l’iniquité de votre peuple, vous avez couvert tous leurs péchés.

3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned [thyself] from the fierceness of thine anger.

Vous avez apaisé votre colère, vous avez détourné votre peuple de la colère de votre indignation.

4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.

Convertissez-nous, ô Dieu notre Sauveur; et détournez votre colère de nous.

5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

Est-ce que vous serez éternellement en colère; ou étendrez-vous votre colère de génération en génération?

6 Wilt thou not quicken us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Ô Dieu, revenez à nous, vous nous donnerez la vie, et votre peuple se réjouira en vous.

7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

Montrez-nous, Seigneur, votre miséricorde; et donnez-nous votre salut.

8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

J’écouterai ce que dira au dedans de moi le Seigneur Dieu, parce qu’il parlera paix pour son peuple, Et pour ses saints, et pour ceux qui se tournent vers leur cœur.

9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

Assurément, près de ceux qui le craignent est son salut, afin que la gloire habite dans notre terre.

10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

La miséricorde et la vérité se sont rencontrées; la justice et la paix se sont donné un baiser.

11 Truth springeth out of the earth; and righteousness hath looked down from heaven.

La vérité est sortie de la terre, et la justice a regardé du haut du ciel.

12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

Le Seigneur accordera sa bonté, et notre terre donnera son fruit.

13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall make his footsteps a way [to walk in].

La justice marchera devant lui, et il mettra ses pas dans la voie.
