Deuteronomy 22
1 Thou shalt not see the ox of thy brother or his sheep, going astray, and turn away from them, —thou shalt, bring them back unto thy brother.
Se vedi smarriti un bue o una pecora di tuo fratello, tu non devi fingere di non averli scorti, ma avrai cura di ricondurli a tuo fratello.
2 And, if thy brother be not nigh unto thee or thou know him not, then shalt thou make room for it within thee own shed and it shall be with thee, until thy brother seek after it, when thou shalt return it unto him.
Se tuo fratello non abita vicino a te e non lo conosci, accoglierai l'animale in casa tua: rimarrà da te finché tuo fratello non ne faccia ricerca e allora glielo renderai.
3 And, so, shalt thou do with his ass, and, so, shalt thou do with his mantle and, so, shalt thou do with any lost thing of thy brother’s, which shall go astray from him and thou shalt find, —thou mayest not turn away.
Lo stesso farai del suo asino, lo stesso della sua veste, lo stesso di qualunque altro oggetto che tuo fratello abbia perduto e che tu trovi; tu non fingerai di non averli scorti.
4 Thou shalt not see the ass of thy brother or his ox fallen in the way, and turn away from them, —thou shalt, raise, them with him.
Se vedi l'asino del tuo fratello o il suo bue caduto nella strada, tu non fingerai di non averli scorti, ma insieme con lui li farai rialzare.
5 A woman shall not have on the wearing apparel of a man, nor shall a man put on the mantle of a woman; for an abomination to Yahweh thy God, is any one who doeth these things.
La donna non si metterà un indumento da uomo né l'uomo indosserà una veste da donna; perché chiunque fa tali cose è in abominio al Signore tuo Dio.
6 When a bird’s-nest chanceth to be before thee, —in the way, in any tree or upon the ground, whether with nestlings or eggs, and, the mother, be sitting upon the nestlings or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the mother upon the young;
Quando, cammin facendo, troverai sopra un albero o per terra un nido d'uccelli con uccellini o uova e la madre che sta per covare gli uccellini o le uova, non prenderai la madre sui figli;
7 thou shalt, let go, the mother, and then, her young, mayest thou take for thyself, —that it may go well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.
ma scacciandola, lascia andar la madre e prendi per te i figli, perché tu sia felice e goda lunga vita.
8 When thou buildest a new house, then shalt thou make a parapet to thy roof, so shalt thou not treasure up blood-guiltiness against thy house, for he that is in danger of falling might fall therefrom.
Quando costruirai una casa nuova, farai un parapetto intorno alla tua terrazza, per non attirare sulla tua casa la vendetta del sangue, qualora uno cada di là.
9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with two sorts of seed, —lest the fulness of the seed which thou sowest, and the increase of thy vineyard be profaned.
Non seminerai nella tua vigna semi di due specie diverse, perché altrimenti tutto il prodotto di ciò che avrai seminato e la rendita della vigna diventerà cosa consacrata.
10 Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together,
Non devi arare con un bue e un asino aggiogati assieme.
11 Thou shalt not put on linsey-woolsey, of wool and flax together.
Non ti vestirai con un tessuto misto, fatto di lana e di lino insieme.
12 Tassels, shalt thou make thee, —on the four corners of thy vesture, wherewith thou dost cover thyself.
Metterai fiocchi alle quattro estremità del mantello con cui ti copri.
13 When a man taketh a wife, —and goeth in unto her and hateth her;
Se un uomo sposa una donna e, dopo aver coabitato con lei, la prende in odio,
14 and raiseth against her occasions of speech, and bringeth upon her an evil name, and saith—This woman, I took, and approached her, and found not that she had the tokens of virginity,
le attribuisce azioni scandalose e diffonde sul suo conto una fama cattiva, dicendo: Ho preso questa donna, ma quando mi sono accostato a lei non l'ho trovata in stato di verginità,
15 then shall the father of the damsel and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of the virginity of the damsel, unto the elders of the city, in the gate;
il padre e la madre della giovane prenderanno i segni della verginità della giovane e li presenteranno agli anziani della città, alla porta.
16 and the father of the damsel shall say unto the elders, —My daughter, gave I unto this man to wife and he hated her;
Il padre della giovane dirà agli anziani: Ho dato mia figlia in moglie a quest'uomo; egli l'ha presa in odio
17 and lo! he, hath raised occasions of speech, saying—I found not that thy daughter had the tokens of virginity and yet, these, are the tokens of the virginity of my daughter. And they shall spread out the garment before the elders of the city.
ed ecco le attribuisce azioni scandalose, dicendo: Non ho trovato tua figlia in stato di verginità; ebbene, questi sono i segni della verginità di mia figlia, e spiegheranno il panno davanti agli anziani della città.
18 Then shall the elders of that city take the man, and chastise him;
Allora gli anziani di quella città prenderanno il marito e lo castigheranno
19 and fine him a hundred [shekels] of silver and give unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought an evil name upon a virgin of Israel, and she shall remain his wife, he may not put her away, all his days.
e gli imporranno un'ammenda di cento sicli d'argento, che daranno al padre della giovane, per il fatto che ha diffuso una cattiva fama contro una vergine d'Israele. Ella rimarrà sua moglie ed egli non potrà ripudiarla per tutto il tempo della sua vita.
20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found with the damsel,
Ma se la cosa è vera, se la giovane non è stata trovata in stato di verginità,
21 then shall they bring forth the damsel into the entrance of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die, because she hath wrought wickedness in Israel, by committing unchastity in her father’s house, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.
allora la faranno uscire all'ingresso della casa del padre e la gente della sua città la lapiderà, così che muoia, perché ha commesso un'infamia in Israele, disonorandosi in casa del padre. Così toglierai il male di mezzo a te.
22 When a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then shall, both, of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman, so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of Israel.
Quando un uomo verrà colto in fallo con una donna maritata, tutti e due dovranno morire: l'uomo che ha peccato con la donna e la donna. Così toglierai il male da Israele.
23 When a damsel that is a virgin is betrothed to a husband, —and a man findeth her in the city, and lieth with her,
Quando una fanciulla vergine è fidanzata e un uomo, trovandola in città, pecca con lei,
24 then shall ye bring them, both, out unto the gate of that city, and stone them with stones that they die, the damsel, because she made not an outcry in the city, and the man because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.
condurrete tutti e due alla porta di quella città e li lapiderete così che muoiano: la fanciulla, perché essendo in città non ha gridato, e l'uomo perché ha disonorato la donna del suo prossimo. Così toglierai il male da te.
25 But if in the field, the man find the betrothed damsel and the man force her and lie with her, then shall the man that lay with her die he alone;
Ma se l'uomo trova per i campi la fanciulla fidanzata e facendole violenza pecca con lei, allora dovrà morire soltanto l'uomo che ha peccato con lei;
26 but, unto the damsel, shalt thou do nothing, the damsel, is not guilty of a sin worthy of death, for as when a man riseth up against his neighbour, and smiteth him so as to take away life, so, is this matter;
ma non farai nulla alla fanciulla. Nella fanciulla non c'è colpa degna di morte: come quando un uomo assale il suo prossimo e l'uccide, così è in questo caso,
27 for in the field, he found her, —the betrothed damsel, made an outcry, and there was none to save her.
perché egli l'ha incontrata per i campi: la fanciulla fidanzata ha potuto gridare, ma non c'era nessuno per venirle in aiuto.
28 When a man findeth a damsel that is a virgin who is not betrothed, and layeth hold of her and lieth with her, and they are found,
Se un uomo trova una fanciulla vergine che non sia fidanzata, l'afferra e pecca con lei e sono colti in flagrante,
29 then shall the man who lay with her give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, —and she shall be, his, wife, because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away, all his days.
l'uomo che ha peccato con lei darà al padre della fanciulla cinquanta sicli d'argento; essa sarà sua moglie, per il fatto che egli l'ha disonorata, e non potrà ripudiarla per tutto il tempo della sua vita.
30 A man shall not take his father’s wife, —neither shall he turn aside his father’s coverlet.
Nessuno sposerà una moglie del padre, né solleverà il lembo del mantello paterno.
