Acts 24

١ وَبَعْدَ خَمْسَةِ أَيَّامٍ حَضَرَ إِلَى قَيْصَرِيَّةَ وَفْدٌ يَضُمُّ حَنَانِيَّا، رَئِيسَ الْكَهَنَةِ، وَبَعْضَ الشُّيُوخِ، وَمُحَامِياً اسْمُهُ تَرْتُلُّسُ، لِيُقَدِّمُوا الدَّعْوَى لِلْحَاكِمِ ضِدَّ بُولُسَ.

٢ فَاسْتَدْعَى الْحَاكِمُ بُولُسَ، وَبَدَأَ تَرْتُلُّسُ يُوَجِّهُ إِلَيْهِ الاتِّهَامَ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ مَا تَمَّ لَنَا بِفَضْلِكَ مِنْ سَلامٍ وَافِرٍ وَإِصْلاحَاتٍ انْتَفَعَ بِها شَعْبُنَا بِعِنَايَتِكَ

٣ يَا سُمُوَّ الْحَاكِمِ فِيلِكْسَ نُرَحِّبُ بِهِ، بِجُمْلَتِهِ وَفِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ، بِالشُّكْرِ الْجَزِيلِ.

٤ وَلأَنِّي لَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُطِيلَ الْكَلامَ عَلَيْكَ، أَرْجُو أَنْ تَتَلَطَّفَ فَتَسْمَعَ عَرْضاً مُوجَزاً لِدَعْوَانَا:

٨ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ الْمُدَّعِينَ عَلَيْهِ بِالتَّرَافُعِ أَمَامَكَ. وَتَسْتَطِيعُ الآنَ أَنْ تَتَيَقَّنَ مِنْ صِحَّةِ دَعْوَانَا إِذَا قُمْتَ بِاسْتِجْوَابِهِ فِي هَذَا الأَمْرِ!»

١٠ وَأَشَارَ الْحَاكِمُ إِلَى بُولُسَ أَنْ يُقَدِّمَ دِفَاعَهُ، فَقَالَ: «أَنَا أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَحْكُمُ فِي قَضَايَا أُمَّتِنَا مُنْذُ سَنَوَاتٍ عَدِيدَةٍ، وَلِذَلِكَ يَسُرُّنِي تَقْدِيمُ دِفَاعِي عَنْ نَفْسِي بِكُلِّ ارْتِيَاحٍ.

١١ وَيُمْكِنُكَ أَنْ تَتَأَكَّدَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْضِ عَلَى وُصُولِي إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ، لِلْعِبَادَةِ، أَكْثَرُ مِنِ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ يَوْماً.

١٢ وَلَمْ يَرَنِي أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً فِي الْهَيْكَلِ أَوِ الْمَجَامِعِ أُجَادِلُ أَحَداً أَوْ أُحَرِّضُ الشَّعْبَ عَلَى الْفَوْضَى.

١٣ وَهُمْ لَا يَقْدِرُونَ أَنْ يُثْبِتُوا اتِّهَامَهُمْ لِي أَمَامَكَ الآنَ.

١٥ وَلِي بِاللهِ مَالَهُمْ مِنْ رَجَاءٍ يَنْتَظِرُونَ تَحْقِيقَهُ: وَهُوَ أَنَّ الْقِيَامَةَ سَتَحْدُثُ لِلأَمْوَاتِ، الأَبْرَارِ مِنْهُمْ وَالأَشْرَارِ.

١٨ وَبَيْنَمَا كُنْتُ أَقُومُ بِذَلِكَ، رَآنِي فِي الْهَيْكَلِ بَعْضُ يَهُودِ مُقَاطَعَةِ آسِيَّا، وَكُنْتُ قَدْ تَطَهَّرْتُ. لَمْ أَكُنْ وَقْتَئِذٍ وَسْطَ أَيِّ تَجَمُّعٍ، وَلا كُنْتُ أُثِيرُ الْفَوْضَى.

٢٢ وَكَانَ فِيلِكْسُ يَعْرِفُ عَنْ كَثَبٍ أُمُورَ الطَّرِيقِ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ دِفَاعَ بُولُسَ أَرْجَأَ إِصْدَارَ الْحُكْمِ، وَقَالَ لِلْوَفْدِ الْمُدَّعِي: «سَأَحْكُمُ فِي دَعْوَاكُمْ عِنْدَمَا يَحْضُرُ الْقَائِدُ لِيسِيَاسُ».

٢٣ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ قَائِدَ الْمِئَةِ بِوَضْعِ بُولُسَ تَحْتَ الْحِرَاسَةِ، عَلَى أَنْ تَكُونَ لَهُ بَعْضُ الْحُرِّيَّةِ، وَأَنْ يُسْمَحَ لأَصْدِقَائِهِ بِزِيَارَتِهِ وَالْقِيَامِ بِخِدْمَتِهِ.

٢٤ وَبَعْدَ بِضْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ جَاءَ فِيلِكْسُ وَمَعَهُ زَوْجَتُهُ دُرُوسِلا، وَكَانَتْ يَهُودِيَّةً، فَاسْتَدْعَى بُولُسَ وَاسْتَمَعَ إِلَى حَدِيثِهِ عَنِ الإِيمَانِ بِالْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ.

٢٥ وَلَمَّا تَحَدَّثَ بُولُسُ عَنِ الْبِرِّ وَضَبْطِ النَّفْسِ وَالدَّيْنُونَةِ الآتِيَةِ ارْتَعَبَ فِيلِكْسُ، وَقَالَ لِبُولُسَ: «اذْهَبِ الآنَ، وَمَتَى تَوَفَّرَ لِيَ الْوَقْتُ أَسْتَدْعِيكَ ثَانِيَةً».

٢٧ وَمَرَّتْ سَنَتَانِ وَبُولُسُ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْحَالِ. وَأَخِيراً تَعَيَّنَ بُورْكِيُوسُ فَسْتُوسُ حَاكِماً خَلَفاً لِفِيلِكْسَ. وَإِذْ أَرَادَ فِيلِكْسُ أَنْ يَكْسِبَ رِضَى الْيَهُودِ تَرَكَ بُولُسَ فِي السِّجْنِ.
