Ecclesiastes 2
1 to say I in/on/with heart my to go: come! [emph?] please to test you in/on/with joy and to see: enjoy in/on/with good and behold also he/she/it vanity
੧ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਭਈ ਆ, ਮੈਂ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਤਾਵਾ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੁੱਖ ਭੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਸੀ।
2 to/for laughter to say to boast: rave madly and to/for joy what? this to make: do
੨ਮੈਂ ਹਾਸੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੂਰਖਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ?
3 to spy in/on/with heart my to/for to draw in/on/with wine [obj] flesh my and heart my to lead in/on/with wisdom and to/for to grasp in/on/with folly till which to see: see where? this pleasant to/for son: child [the] man which to make: do underneath: under [the] heaven number day life their
੩ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮਧ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਾਂ, ਪਰ ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਬੁੱਧ ਵੱਲ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਖਤਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਾਂ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਦਮ ਵੰਸ਼ੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਕਰਨ।
4 to magnify deed: work my to build to/for me house: home to plant to/for me vineyard
੪ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਦਾਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾੜੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ,
5 to make to/for me garden and park and to plant in/on/with them tree all fruit
੫ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਬਗੀਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਂਤ-ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਲਗਾਏ,
6 to make to/for me pool water to/for to water: watering from them wood to spring tree
੬ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਣ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਜਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਤਲਾਬ ਬਣਾਏ,
7 to buy servant/slave and maidservant and son: child house: home to be to/for me also livestock cattle and flock to multiply to be to/for me from all which/that to be to/for face: before my in/on/with Jerusalem
੭ਮੈਂ ਦਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਾਸ ਵੀ ਸਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵੱਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਾਇਦਾਦ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ।
8 to gather to/for me also silver: money and gold and possession king and [the] province to make: offer to/for me to sing and to sing and luxury son: child [the] man concubine and concubine
੮ਮੈਂ ਸੋਨਾ-ਚਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਮੈਂ ਗਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨਮੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਰਖ਼ੈਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਦਮ ਵੰਸ਼ੀ ਸੁੱਖ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
9 and to magnify and to add from all which/that to be to/for face: before my in/on/with Jerusalem also wisdom my to stand: stand to/for me
੯ਮੈਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਧਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੀ।
10 and all which to ask eye my not to reserve from them not to withhold [obj] heart my from all joy for heart my glad from all trouble my and this to be portion my from all trouble my
੧੦ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਮੰਗਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੋਕਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹੋ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸੀ।
11 and to turn I in/on/with all deed: work my which/that to make: do hand my and in/on/with trouble which/that to toil to/for to make: do and behold [the] all vanity and longing spirit: breath and nothing advantage underneath: under [the] sun
੧੧ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
12 and to turn I to/for to see: examine wisdom and madness and folly for what? [the] man which/that to come (in): come after [the] king [obj] which already to make: do him
੧੨ਫੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਬੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਗਲਪੁਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਖਤਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਕੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ? ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
13 and to see: see I which/that there advantage to/for wisdom from [the] folly like/as advantage [the] light from [the] darkness
੧੩ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਾਨਣ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੂਰਖਤਾਈ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬੁੱਧ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ।
14 [the] wise eye his in/on/with head his and [the] fool in/on/with darkness to go: walk and to know also I which/that accident one to meet [obj] all their
੧੪ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਸਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੀ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ।
15 and to say I in/on/with heart my like/as accident [the] fool also I to meet me and to/for what? be wise I then advantage and to speak: speak in/on/with heart my which/that also this vanity
੧੫ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੂਰਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਬੀਤੇਗੀ, ਤਾਂ ਫੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਧ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਣਿਆ? ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
16 for nothing memorial to/for wise with [the] fool to/for forever: enduring in/on/with which/that already [the] day [the] to come (in): come [the] all to forget and how? to die [the] wise with [the] fool
੧੬ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਰਹੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ!
17 and to hate [obj] [the] life for bad: harmful upon me [the] deed: work which/that to make: do underneath: under [the] sun for [the] all vanity and longing spirit: breath
੧੭ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਕ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਜੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾੜਾ ਲੱਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਦਾ ਫੱਕਣਾ ਹੈ।
18 and to hate I [obj] all trouble my which/that I laborious underneath: under [the] sun which/that to rest him to/for man which/that to be after me
੧੮ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਕ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਛੱਡਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
19 and who? to know wise to be or fool and to domineer in/on/with all trouble my which/that to toil and which/that be wise underneath: under [the] sun also this vanity
੧੯ਕੌਣ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਾਂ ਮੂਰਖ? ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਣੇਗਾ! ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
20 and to turn: turn I to/for to despair [obj] heart my upon all [the] trouble which/that to toil underneath: under [the] sun
੨੦ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ,
21 for there man which/that trouble his in/on/with wisdom and in/on/with knowledge and in/on/with skill and to/for man which/that not to toil in/on/with him to give: put him portion his also this vanity and distress: evil many
੨੧ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਬੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਹੋਵੇ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
22 for what? to be to/for man in/on/with all trouble his and in/on/with striving heart his which/that he/she/it laborious underneath: under [the] sun
੨੨ਭਲਾ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ-ਧੰਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
23 for all day his pain and vexation task his also in/on/with night not to lie down: sleep heart his also this vanity he/she/it
੨੩ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੁੱਖ ਭਰੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਸੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤੀਂ ਵੀ ਅਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਹੈ!
24 nothing pleasant in/on/with man which/that to eat and to drink and to see: enjoy [obj] soul: myself his good in/on/with trouble his also this to see: see I for from hand: power [the] God he/she/it
੨੪ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਖਾਵੇ-ਪੀਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ-ਧੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਚਾਵੇ। ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
25 for who? to eat and who? to enjoy outside from me
੨੫ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕੌਣ ਖਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਭੋਗ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
26 for to/for man which/that pleasant to/for face: before his to give: give wisdom and knowledge and joy and to/for to sin to give: give task to/for to gather and to/for to gather to/for to give: give to/for pleasant to/for face: before [the] God also this vanity and longing spirit: breath
੨੬ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਲਾ ਹੈ, ਬੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਪਾਪੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਦਾ ਫੱਕਣਾ ਹੈ!
