< Numbers 36 >

1 The family leaders of the clan of Gilead of the tribe of Manasseh went to Moses/me and the other family leaders of the Israeli people.
Dia nanatona ny lohan’ ny fianakaviana tamin’ ny fokon’ ny taranak’ i Gileada, zanak’ i Makira, zanak’ i Manase, avy tamin’ ny fokon’ ny taranak’ i Josefa, ka niteny teo anatrehan’ i Mosesy sy ny lehibe, lohan’ ny fianakaviana tamin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, ka nanao hoe:
2 They said to Moses/me, “Yahweh commanded you, our leader, to apportion the land to the Israeli tribes by throwing (lots/stones that have been marked) to decide [which group would get which area]. Yahweh also commanded you to give the land that belonged to our fellow Israeli Zelophehad to his daughters.
Hianao, tompokolahy, efa nodidian’ i Jehovah hizara ny tany amin’ ny filokana ho an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely; ary ianao, tompokolahy, efa nodidian’ i Jehovah hanome ny zara-tanin’ i Zelofada rahalahinay ho an’ ny zananivavy.
3 But if his daughters marry men from the other Israeli tribes, that land will no longer belong to our tribe. People of other tribes will get it. So some of our land will no longer belong to us.
Koa raha manambady ny zanakalahin’ ny firenena sasany amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely ireo, dia hesorina amin’ ny an’ ny razanay ny zara-taniny ka hanampy ny zara-tanin’ ny firenena izay hatoniny, dia hesorina amin’ ny zara-taninay izay azonay tamin’ ny filokana izany.
4 When the Year of Celebration comes, [when all the land that has been bought by someone is returned to its original owners], the land that belonged to Zelophehad will belong to the tribes of the men that his daughters marry. So some of our land, the land that we received from our fathers, will be taken from us, [and we will never own it again].”
Ary raha tonga ny Jobilin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, ny zara-taniny dia hanampy ny an’ ny firenena izay hatoniny, ary ny azy dia hesorina amin’ ny zara-tanin’ ny razanay.
5 Yahweh told Moses/me what to reply to them, so Moses/I said this to them: “These men from the tribe of Manasseh are right.
Ary Mosesy nandidy ny Zanak’ Isiraely araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah ka nanao hoe: Marina ny tenin’ ny firenena taranak’ i Josefa.
6 This is what Yahweh is saying to the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Each of you may marry anyone you want to, but you must marry only someone from your own tribe.’
Izao no teny izay andidian’ i Jehovah ny amin’ ny zanakavavin’ i Zelofada: Aoka izy hanambady izay tiany, nefa ny ao amin’ ny fokon’ ny firenen’ ny razany ihany no hovadiny.
7 In that way, the land that belongs to Israelis will not be passed from one tribe to another tribe. Each Israeli will keep the land in the tribe that belonged to his ancestors.
Dia tsy hifindra maso ny zara-tanin’ ny firenen’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely; fa samy ho eo amin’ ny zara-tanin’ ny razany avy no hipetrahan’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely.
8 A woman who inherits her father’s land may get married, but she must marry someone from her own tribe. In that way, every Israeli will keep the land that belonged to his ancestors.
Ary ny zazavavy rehetra izay mandova zara-tany eo amin’ ny firenen’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely dia hanambady ny anankiray ao amin’ ny fokon’ ny firenen’ ny razany ihany, mba hananan’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely rehetra ny zara-tanin’ ny razany avy.
9 The land must not be passed from one tribe to another tribe. Each Israeli tribe must keep the land that it received from its ancestors.”
Ary aoka tsy hisy hifindra maso ny zara-tanin’ ny firenena samy hafa, fa samy ho eo amin’ ny azy avy no hipetrahan’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely.
10 Zelophehad’s daughters obeyed what Yahweh told Moses/me.
Araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy no nataon’ ny zanakavavin’ i Zelofada,
11 The five daughters—Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah—married their cousins, their father’s relatives.
ka Mahala sy Tirza sy Hogla sy Milka ary Noa, zanakavavin’ i Zelofada, dia samy nanambady ny zanaky ny rahalahin’ ny rainy avy.
12 The men whom they married were from the tribe of Manasseh, so their land continued to belong to their father’s family and tribe.
Izay avy tamin’ ny fokon’ ny taranak’ i Manase, zanak’ i Josefa, no novadin’ ireo, ka dia nitoetra teo amin’ ny firenen’ ny mpianakavin’ ny rainy ihany ny zara-taniny.
13 Those were the commands [DOU] that Yahweh gave to Moses/me to tell to the Israelis, while they/we were on the plains of the Moab region, close to the Jordan River, across from Jericho.
Ireo no didy sy fitsipika izay nandidian’ i Jehovah ka nampitondrainy an’ i Mosesy ho amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely teo Arbota-moaba, teo amoron’ i Jordana tandrifin’ i Jeriko.
