Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
൧ആദിയിൽ ദൈവം ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
൨ഭൂമി രൂപരഹിതവും ശൂന്യവുമായിരുന്നു; ആഴത്തിന്മീതെ ഇരുൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് വെള്ളത്തിൻ മീതെ പരിവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
൩“വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ” എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടായി.
4 And God saw the light, that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
൪വെളിച്ചം നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു; ദൈവം വെളിച്ചവും ഇരുളും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night: and the evening and the morning were the first day.
൫ദൈവം വെളിച്ചത്തിന് പകൽ എന്നും ഇരുളിന് രാത്രി എന്നും പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ഒന്നാം ദിവസം. ദൈവം വെളിച്ചത്തിനു “പകൽ” എന്നും ഇരുളിനു “രാത്രി” എന്നും പേരുവിളിച്ചു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ഒന്നാം ദിവസം.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
൬ദൈവം: “വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അത് വെള്ളത്തിനും വെള്ളത്തിനും തമ്മിൽ വേർതിരിവായിരിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
7 And God made the firmament; and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so.
൭വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ട് ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിൻ കീഴിലുള്ള വെള്ളവും വിതാനത്തിൻ മീതെയുള്ള വെള്ളവും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven: and the evening and the morning were the second day.
൮ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന് “ആകാശം” എന്ന് പേർവിളിച്ചു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, രണ്ടാംദിവസം.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered into one place, and let the dry [land] appear: and it was so.
൯ദൈവം: “ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളം ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൂടട്ടെ; ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലം കാണട്ടെ” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
10 And God called the dry [land] Earth, and the collection of waters he called Seas: and God saw that it [was] good.
൧൦ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തിനു ദൈവം ഭൂമി എന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിനു സമുദ്രം എന്നും പേരിട്ടു; നല്ലത് എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit-tree yielding fruit after its kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
൧൧ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു പുല്ലും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയിൽ അതത് തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളച്ചുവരട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after its kind: and God saw that it [was] good.
൧൨ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു പുല്ലും അതത് തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളച്ചുവന്നു; നല്ലത് എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
൧൩സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, മൂന്നാംദിവസം.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven, to divide the day from the night: and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.
൧൪“പകലും രാവും തമ്മിൽ വേർതിരിക്കുവാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ വെളിച്ചങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അവ അടയാളങ്ങളായും ഋതുക്കളും, ദിവസവും, വർഷങ്ങളും തിരിച്ചറിയുവാനായും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ;
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven, to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
൧൫ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ അവ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also.
൧൬പകൽ വാഴേണ്ടതിന് വലിപ്പമേറിയ വെളിച്ചവും രാത്രി വാഴേണ്ടതിന് വലിപ്പം കുറഞ്ഞ വെളിച്ചവും ആയി രണ്ടു വലിയ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven, to give light upon the earth.
൧൭ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുവാനും പകലും രാത്രിയും നിയന്ത്രിക്കുവാനും വെളിച്ചത്തെയും ഇരുളിനെയും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിക്കുവാനുമായി
18 And to rule over the day, and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it [was] good.
൧൮ദൈവം അവയെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ നിർത്തി; നല്ലത് എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
൧൯സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, നാലാം ദിവസം.
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
൨൦“വെള്ളത്തിൽ ചരിക്കുന്ന ജീവികൾ ധാരാളമായി ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ പറവജാതി പറക്കട്ടെ” എന്ന് ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
൨൧ദൈവം വലിയ തിമിംഗലങ്ങളെയും വെള്ളത്തിൽ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിച്ചു ചരിക്കുന്ന അതത് തരം ജീവജന്തുക്കളെയും അതത് തരം പറവജാതിയെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; അത് നല്ലത് എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
൨൨“നിങ്ങൾ വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിറയുവിൻ; പറവജാതി ഭൂമിയിൽ പെരുകട്ടെ” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു ദൈവം അവയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
൨൩സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, അഞ്ചാം ദിവസം.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and the creeping animal, and the beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
൨൪“അതത് തരം കന്നുകാലി, ഇഴജാതി, കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഇങ്ങനെ അതതുതരം ജീവജന്തുക്കൾ ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നുണ്ടാകട്ടെ” എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every animal that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
൨൫ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അതത് തരം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും അതത് തരം കന്നുകാലികളെയും അതത് തരം ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നല്ലത് എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping animal that creepeth upon the earth.
൨൬അനന്തരം ദൈവം: “നാംനമ്മുടെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ സാദൃശ്യപ്രകാരം മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുക; സമുദ്രത്തിലുള്ള മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലുള്ള പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും കന്നുകാലികളിന്മേലും സർവ്വഭൂമിയിന്മേലും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാ ഇഴജാതിയിന്മേലും മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ആധിപത്യം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
൨൭ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ അവനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി അവരെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living animal that moveth upon the earth.
൨൮ദൈവം അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ സന്താന പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു അതിനെ അടക്കി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും സകലഭൂചരജന്തുവിന്മേലും വാഴുവിൻ എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.
൨൯“ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ആഹാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ;
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every animal that creepeth upon the earth, in which [is] life, [I have given] every green herb for food: and it was so.
൩൦ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇഴയുന്ന സകല ജന്തുക്കൾക്കും ജീവനുള്ള സകലത്തിനും ആഹാരമായിട്ടു പച്ചസസ്യം ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
൩൧ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതിനെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നോക്കി, അത് എത്രയും നല്ലത് എന്നു കണ്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ആറാം ദിവസം.
