< 1 Peter 3 >

1 In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word,
Tasia bangma in, zi te awng, na pasal te thu ni vun; Pathian thu a ni nuam ngawl pasal te zong kammal kihel ngawl in zite i ngamtat phatna taw zo tu hi;
2 seeing your pure behavior in fear.
Taciang amate in a thiangtho ngamtatna le a zatakna mu khawm tu hi.
3 Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing,
Na ki pua dan uh te sia a puasang kipua na a tatuam, sampheak, kham taw kizep dan a tatuam, puansil nikten te taw hi heak tahen;
4 but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.
Ahihang nunneam le om hithiat na thaa, note i thinsung ah a ki seal a tul thei ngawl kipuana hi zaw tahen, tasia in Pathian muna ah manpha mama hi.
5 For this is how in the past the holy women who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands.
Banghangziam cile nidanglai Pathian a muang nupi thiangtho te in hibang in, a pasal te thu nit na taw amate le amate kipua uh hi:
6 So Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are if you do well and are not put in fear by any terror.
Sarah in Abraham thu ni a, topa awng, ci in a sap bang in: note zong a pha na sep uh sung theampo, lau ngawl le kita ngawl in na om uh ahile Sarah tanu te na hi uh hi.
7 You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman as to the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
Tasia bangma in no pasal te, na zi te uh sia a tampal tungbeal dom bang in ahizong, thuthiamna nuntakna ngamhlua khawm te bang in ahizong, zatakna pia vun a, heakna taw teangkhawm vun; tabang hile na thunget na uh te hong khak ngawl tu hi.
8 Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
A tawpna ah, note theampo thu kisi in om vun, khat le khat tung ah kikhualna nei vun, u le nau bang in ki-it vun, ki ciliap vun a, ki thol nuam na hi tavun:
9 not rendering evil for evil or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
Siatna sia siatna taw thukkik heak vun, hong ngalvawt te ngalvawt kik heak vun: ahihang Pathian in thupha piak tu in hongsam hi, ci phawk in thupha pia zaw vun; tabang in thupha sia ngamh in na lua tu uh hi.
10 For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
Banghangziam cile nuntakna a it te le hunpha a mu nuam te in leii i siatna pan kideak hen a, a kam taw ngual theam heak tahen:
11 Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it.
A pha ngawl te pial hen a, a pha te seam tahen; kilemna zong in del tahen.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
Banghangziam cile Topa i mitte sia a thutang te tung ah om a, amate thungetna ngai tu in a nakheng te zong daw hi: ahihang Topa mai ah siatna a vawt te sia langpan hi.
13 Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good?
A pha a zui te na hi uh le akua in hong vawtsia tu ziam?
14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
Ahihang thutang suana atu in na thuak uh ahile thuphatoai te na hi uh hi: amate i thawmvauna te lau heak vun, buai zong buai heak vun;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,
Ahihang na thin sung uh ah Topa Pathian upat vun: note sung ah lametna thu hong dong te nunneam le kitakna taw hil thei tu in tatsat ngawl in kidawm vun:
16 having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.
Christ sung ah a pha na ngamtatzia uh te sia a man ngawl pi hong mawsiat te in, na pha ngawl seam te bang in, hong zawnsak ciang, amate a maizum thei zawk natu in a pha khentel theina thinsung nei tavun.
17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing what is right than for doing evil.
Banghangziam cile, na pha ngawl na sep uh hu in haksatna na thuak uh sang in, Pathian deina ahile phatna na vawt uh hu in haksatna thuak sia phazaw hi.
18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,
Banghangziam cile Christ zong mawna atu in thuak hi, mi thutang in mi thutang ngawl te atu in thuak hi, tabang in Pathian kung ah hong paipui tu in cilesa sung ah thalupna thuak napi, Thaa in nungtasak kik hi:
19 in whom he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,
Tua Thaa in thongsung ah a om thaa te kung ah pai in thuhil hi;
20 who before were disobedient when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
Hi te sia Noah tembaw a saklai in Pathian in thinsautak in ngak napi, thuni nuam ngawl te a hi uh hi, tembaw sung ah tawmbek ahi, mihing liat bek tuisung pan in ngupna nga hi.
21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
Tua thu in hong telsaknop tuiphumna sia, tu in Jesus Christ a thawkikna tungtawn in hong ngum hi, tua tuiphumna sia i cilesa sung ah a niin te hong sil in, a sia le pha khentel theina thinsung pha taw, Pathian kung ah kiciamna vawtna hi zaw hi:
22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
Ama sia vantung ah kaato zo a, Pathian ziatsang ah om hi, taciang vantung mite, thuneina le vangletna theampo i tung ah thu nei hi.
