Deuteronomy 13
1 If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,
൧നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരനോ എഴുന്നേറ്റ്:
2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, “Let’s go after other gods” (which you have not known) “and let’s serve them,”
൨“നീ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്ന് സേവിക്കുക” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു അടയാളമോ അത്ഭുതമോ മുന്നറിയിക്കയും, അവൻ പറഞ്ഞ അടയാളമോ അത്ഭുതമോ സംഭവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ
3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
൩ആ പ്രവാചകന്റെയോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരന്റെയോ വാക്ക് നീ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കരുത്; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണ്ണമനസ്സോടുംകൂടെ നിങ്ങൾ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്ന് അറിയേണ്ടതിന് യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുകയാകുന്നു.
4 You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice. You shall serve him, and cling to him.
൪നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നിങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ച് ഭയപ്പെടുകയും, അവന്റെ കല്പന പ്രമാണിച്ച് അവന്റെ വാക്ക് കേൾക്കുകയും അവനെ സേവിച്ച് അവനോട് ചേർന്നിരിക്കുകയും വേണം.
5 That prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to draw you aside out of the way which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk in. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
൫ആ പ്രവാചകനോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരനോ, ഈജിപ്റ്റ്ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനും അടിമവീട്ടിൽനിന്ന് വീണ്ടെടുത്തവനുമായ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വിരോധമായി ദ്രോഹം സംസാരിച്ച്, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നീ നടക്കുവാൻ കല്പിച്ച വഴിയിൽനിന്ന് നിന്നെ തെറ്റിക്കുവാൻ നോക്കിയതുകൊണ്ട് അവനെ കൊല്ലണം; അങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയണം.
6 If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, “Let’s go and serve other gods”—which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;
൬ദേശത്തിന്റെ ഒരു അറ്റം മുതൽ മറ്റേഅറ്റം വരെ, സമീപത്തോ ദൂരത്തോ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ചുറ്റും ഉള്ള ജനതകളുടെ ദേവന്മാരിൽവച്ച്
7 of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near to you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth—
൭നീയോ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്ന് സേവിക്കുക എന്ന് നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ മകനായ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനോ, നിന്റെ മകനോ മകളോ, നിന്റെ മാർവ്വിടത്തിലുള്ള ഭാര്യയോ, നിന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതനോ, രഹസ്യമായി പറഞ്ഞ് നിന്നെ വശീകരിക്കുവാൻ നോക്കിയാൽ
8 you shall not consent to him nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him;
൮അതിനോട് യോജിക്കുകയോ അവരുടെ വാക്ക് കേൾക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്; അവരോട് കനിവ് തോന്നുകയോ, ക്ഷമിച്ച് അവരെ ഒളിപ്പിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ, കൊന്നുകളയണം.
9 but you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people.
൯അവരെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന് ആദ്യം നിന്റെ കയ്യും പിന്നെ സർവ്വജനത്തിന്റെ കയ്യും അവന്റെമേൽ വെക്കണം.
10 You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
൧൦അടിമവീടായ ഈജിപ്റ്റ്ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോട് നിന്നെ അകറ്റിക്കളയുവാൻ അവൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞ് കൊല്ലണം.
11 All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more wickedness like this among you.
൧൧മേലാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഈ അരുതാത്ത കാര്യം നടക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം ഈ വർത്തമാനം കേട്ട് ഭയപ്പെടേണം.
12 If you hear about one of your cities, which Yahweh your God gives you to dwell there, that
൧൨നിങ്ങൾ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്ന് സേവിയ്ക്കണമെന്ന് പറയുന്ന നീചന്മാർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ട് തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെ വശീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന്
13 certain wicked fellows have gone out from among you and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let’s go and serve other gods,” which you have not known,
൧൩നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്ക് പാർപ്പാൻ തന്നിട്ടുള്ള ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു പട്ടണത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് കേട്ടാൽ
14 then you shall inquire, investigate, and ask diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such abomination was done among you,
൧൪നീ നല്ലവണ്ണം അന്വേഷിക്കുകയും പരിശോധിക്കയും ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുകയും വേണം. അങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ലേച്ഛത നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടന്നു എന്ന കാര്യം വാസ്തവവും നിശ്ചയവും എങ്കിൽ
15 you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, with all that is therein and its livestock, with the edge of the sword.
൧൫നീ ആ പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ കൊന്ന് അതും, അതിലുള്ളത് ഒക്കെയും, അതിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ ശപഥാർപ്പിതമായി സംഹരിക്കേണം.
16 You shall gather all its plunder into the middle of its street, and shall burn with fire the city, with all of its plunder, to Yahweh your God. It shall be a heap forever. It shall not be built again.
൧൬അതിലെ കൊള്ളമുതൽ വീഥിയുടെ നടുവിൽ കൂട്ടിയിട്ട് ആ പട്ടണവും അതിലെ കൊള്ളയും അശേഷം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കായി തീയിട്ട് ചുട്ടുകളയേണം; ആ പട്ടണം എന്നും പാഴ്ക്കുന്നായിരിക്കേണം; അതിനെ പിന്നെ പണിയുകയുമരുത്.
17 Nothing of the devoted thing shall cling to your hand, that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger and show you mercy, and have compassion on you and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers,
൧൭യഹോവ തന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞ് നിന്നോട് കരുണയും കനിവും കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിനും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ശപഥാർപ്പിതമായ യാതൊന്നും നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ പറ്റിയിരിക്കരുത്”.
18 when you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep all his commandments which I command you today, to do that which is right in Yahweh your God’s eyes.
൧൮നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കുകേട്ട് ഞാൻ ഇന്ന് നിന്നോട് ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന അവന്റെ സകല കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിച്ച് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവക്ക് ഹിതകരമായത് ചെയ്യുക.
