2 Corinthians 1

1 Paul, an emissary of Messiah Yeshua through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the holy ones who are in the whole of Achaia:

Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por voluntad de Dios, y Timoteo, nuestro hermano, a la asamblea de Dios que está en Corinto, con todos los santos que están en toda Acaya:

2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Padre de las misericordias y Dios de todo consuelo,

4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

que nos consuela en toda nuestra aflicción, para que podamos consolar a los que están en cualquier aflicción, mediante el consuelo con que nosotros mismos somos consolados por Dios.

5 For as the sufferings of Messiah abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Messiah.

Porque así como los sufrimientos de Cristo abundan en nosotros, así también abunda nuestro consuelo por medio de Cristo.

6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

Pero si somos afligidos, es para vuestro consuelo y salvación. Si somos consolados, es para vuestro consuelo, que produce en vosotros el soportar con paciencia los mismos sufrimientos que nosotros también padecemos.

7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the comfort.

Nuestra esperanza en vosotros es firme, sabiendo que, como sois partícipes de los sufrimientos, sois también del consuelo.

8 For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

Porque no queremos que estéis desinformados, hermanos, acerca de nuestra aflicción que nos sucedió en Asia: que fuimos agobiados en extremo, más allá de nuestras fuerzas, tanto que desesperamos hasta de la vida.

9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

Sí, nosotros mismos tuvimos la sentencia de muerte dentro de nosotros mismos, para que no confiáramos en nosotros mismos, sino en el Dios que resucita a los muertos,

10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,

que nos libró de una muerte tan grande, y que libera, en quien hemos puesto nuestra esperanza de que también nos librará todavía,

11 you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.

ayudando también vosotros en nuestro favor por medio de vuestra súplica; para que, por el don que se nos ha dado por medio de muchos, muchas personas den gracias en vuestro favor.

12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly towards you.

Porque nuestra jactancia es ésta: el testimonio de nuestra conciencia de que en santidad y sinceridad de Dios, no en sabiduría carnal, sino en la gracia de Dios, nos comportamos en el mundo, y más abundantemente con vosotros.

13 For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end—

Porque no os escribimos más que lo que leéis o incluso reconocéis, y espero que lo reconozcáis hasta el final —

14 as also you acknowledged us in part—that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Yeshua.

como también nos reconocisteis en parte — que somos vuestra jactancia, como también vosotros sois la nuestra, en el día de nuestro Señor Jesús.

15 In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit,

En esta confianza, estaba decidido a ir primero a vosotros, para que tuvieras un segundo beneficio,

16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

y por vosotros pasar a Macedonia, y de nuevo desde Macedonia llegar a vosotros, y ser enviado por vosotros en mi viaje a Judea.

17 When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

Por tanto, cuando planeé esto, ¿mostré inconstancia? O las cosas que planeo, ¿las planeo según la carne, para que conmigo haya el “Sí, sí” y el “No, no”?

18 But as God is faithful, our word towards you was not “Yes and no.”

Pero como Dios es fiel, nuestra palabra para con vosotros no fue “Sí y no”.

19 For the Son of God, Yeshua the Messiah, who was preached amongst you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”

Porque el Hijo de Dios, Jesucristo, que fue predicado entre vosotros por nosotros — por mí, Silvano y Timoteo — no fue “Sí y no”, sino que en él hay “Sí”.

20 For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.

Porque por muchas que sean las promesas de Dios, en él está el “Sí”. Por tanto, también en él está el “Amén”, para gloria de Dios por medio de nosotros.

21 Now he who establishes us with you in Messiah and anointed us is God,

Ahora bien, el que nos establece con vosotros en Cristo y nos ungió es Dios,

22 who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

que también nos selló y nos dio el anticipo del Espíritu en nuestros corazones.

23 But I call God for a witness to my soul, that to spare you, I didn’t come to Corinth.

Pero pongo a Dios por testigo de mi alma, que para evitaros, no he venido a Corinto.

24 We don’t control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

No controlamos vuestra fe, sino que somos colaboradores vuestros para vuestra alegría. Porque vosotros os mantenéis firmes en la fe.
