Numbers 26
1 After the plague, the LORD spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
Et après ce fléau l'Éternel parla à Moïse et à Eléazar, fils du Prêtre Aaron, en ces termes:
2 “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel.”
Faites le relevé de la totalité de l'Assemblée des enfants d'Israël, des hommes âgés de vingt ans et plus, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, de tous ceux qui font le service militaire en Israël.
3 Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
Et Moïse et le Prêtre Eléazar leur parlèrent dans les plaines de Moab sur le Jourdain près de Jéricho, et dirent:
4 “Take a census, from twenty years old and upward, as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel.” These are those who came out of the land of Egypt.
De vingt ans et au-dessus, comme l'Éternel l'a prescrit à Moïse, et aux enfants d'Israël sortis du pays d'Egypte:
5 Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
Ruben, premier-né d'Israël, fils de Ruben: Hanoch, famille des Hanochites; de Pallu, la famille des Palluites;
6 of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
de Hestron, la famille des Hestronites; de Carmi, la famille des Carmites.
7 These are the families of the Reubenites; and those who were counted of them were forty-three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
Telles sont les familles, des Rubénites, dont quarante-trois mille sept cent trente furent enregistrés.
8 The son of Pallu: Eliab.
Et le fils de Pallu était Eliab;
9 The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram who were called by the congregation, who rebelled against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah when they rebelled against the LORD;
et les fils d'Eliab, Nemuel et Dathan et Abiram. C'est ce Dathan et cet Abiram, députés de l'Assemblée, qui, dans l'attroupement de Coré, se soulevèrent contre Moïse et Aaron, lors de leur soulèvement contre l'Éternel,
10 and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died; at the time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men, and they became a sign.
quand la terre s'entr'ouvrant les engloutit eux et Coré, en même temps que périssait cette troupe, le feu ayant consumé les deux cent cinquante hommes dont il fut fait un exemple.
11 Notwithstanding, the sons of Korah didn’t die.
Cependant les fils de Coré ne périrent pas.
12 The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;
Fils de Siméon, selon leurs familles: de Nemuel, la famille des Nemuélites; de Jamin, la famille des Jaminites; de Jachin, la famille des Jachinites;
13 of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
de Zérah, la famille des Zérahites; de Saul, la famille des Saulites.
14 These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty-two thousand and two hundred.
Telles sont les familles des Siméonites: vingt-deux mille deux cents.
15 The sons of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
Fils de Gad selon leurs familles: de Tsephon, la famille des Tsephonites; de Haggi, la famille des Haggites: de Suni, la famille des Sunites;
16 of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites;
de Ozéni, la famille des Ozénites; de Eri la famille des Erites;

19 The sons of Judah: Er and Onan. Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
Fils de Juda: Er et Onan; mais Er et Onan étaient morts dans le pays de Canaan.
20 The sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.
Et les fils de Juda étaient d'après leurs familles: de Séla, la famille des Sélanites; de Pérets, la famille des Péretsites; de Zerah, la famille des Zerahites.
21 The sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
Et les fils de Pérets furent: de Hetsron, la famille des Hetsronites; de Hamul, la famille des Hamulites.
22 These are the families of Judah according to those who were counted of them, seventy-six thousand and five hundred.
Telles sont les familles de Juda: soixante-seize mille cinq cents furent enregistrés.
23 The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;
Fils d'Issaschar, selon leurs familles: de Thola, la famille des Tholaïtes; de Puva, la famille des Punites;
24 of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.

25 These are the families of Issachar according to those who were counted of them, sixty-four thousand and three hundred.

26 The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
Fils de Zabulon, selon leurs familles: de Sered, la famille des Sardites; de Elon, la famille des Elonites; de Jahléel, la famille des Jahléélites.
27 These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those who were counted of them, sixty thousand and five hundred.
Telles sont les familles des Zabulonites dont soixante mille cinq cents furent enregistrés.
28 The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.
Fils de Joseph selon leurs familles: Manassé et Ephraïm.
29 The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir became the father of Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.
Fils de Manassé: de Machir, la famille des Machirites (et Machir engendra Galaad); de Galaad, la famille des Galaadites.
30 These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;
Voici les fils de Galaad: Hiézer, la famille des Hiézérites; de Hélek, la famille des Hélékites;
31 and Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
et Asriel, la famille des Asriélites; et Sichem, la famille des Sichémites;
32 and Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
et Semidah, la famille des Semidahites; et Hépher, la famille des Héphrites.
33 Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
Et Tselophehad était fils de Hépher, il n'avait point de fils, seulement des filles; et les noms des filles de Tselophehad étaient: Mahela et Noa, Hogla, Milca et Thirtsa.
34 These are the families of Manasseh. Those who were counted of them were fifty-two thousand and seven hundred.
Telles sont les familles de Manassé: cinquante-deux mille sept cents furent enregistrés.
35 These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
Suivent les fils d'Epbraïm, selon leurs familles: de Suthélah, la famille des Suthélahites; de Becher, la famille des Bachrites; de Thahan, la famille des Thahanites.
36 These are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
Et voici les fils de Suthélah: de Eran, la famille des Eranites.
37 These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those who were counted of them, thirty-two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.
Telles sont les familles des fils d'Éphraïm dont trente-deux mille cinq cents furent enregistrés. Tels sont les fils de Joseph selon leurs familles.
38 The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
Fils de Benjamin, selon leurs familles: de Béla, la famille des Balites; de Asbel, la famille des Asbélites; de Ahiram, la famille des Ahiramites;
39 of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
de Sephupham, la famille des Suphamites; de Hupham, la famille des Huphamites.
40 The sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: the family of the Ardites; and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.

41 These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and those who were counted of them were forty-five thousand and six hundred.

42 These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
Voici les fils de Dan, selon leurs familles: de Suham, la famille des Suhamites; telles sont les familles de Dan selon leurs familles.
43 All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those who were counted of them, were sixty-four thousand and four hundred.
Toutes les familles des Suhamites fournirent soixante-quatre mille quatre cents hommes enregistrés.
44 The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.
Fils d'Asser, selon leurs familles: de Jimna, la famille des Jimnaïtes; de Jisvi, la famille des Jïsvites; de Béria, la famille des Bériites.
45 Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
Des fils de Béria: de Héber, la famille des Hébrites; de Malchiel, la famille dés Malchiélites.
46 The name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
Et le nom de la fille d'Asser était Sarah.
47 These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those who were counted of them, fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
Telles sont les familles des fils d'Asser dont cinquante-trois mille quatre cents furent enregistrés.
48 The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;
Fils de Nephthali, selon leurs familles: de Jahtsehl, la famille des Jahtsehlites; de Guni, la famille des Gunites;
49 of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
de Jetser, la famille des Jetsérites; de Sillem, la famille des Sillémites.
50 These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and those who were counted of them were forty-five thousand and four hundred.
Telles sont les familles de Nephthali selon leurs familles: quarante-cinq mille quatre cents hommes furent enregistrés.
51 These are those who were counted of the children of Israel, six hundred and one thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
Tels sont les hommes des enfants d'Israël enregistrés au nombre de six cent un mille sept cent trente.
52 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
53 “To these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
C'est entre eux que sera partagé le pays en autant de propriétés qu'il y a de noms:
54 To the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance. To everyone according to those who were counted of him shall his inheritance be given.
aux plus nombreux tu adjugeras un lot plus grand et un plus petit aux moins nombreux; il sera donné à chacun un héritage proportionné au nombre de ses hommes enregistrés.
55 Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot. According to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
Cependant le partage du pays se fera au sort; les propriétés seront affectées aux noms de leurs tribus patriarcales;
56 According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer.”
c'est par le sort qu'à chacun sera adjugé son lot, plus ou moins considérable.
57 These are those who were counted of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
Et voici les Lévites enregistrés selon leurs familles: de Gerson, la famille des Gersonites; de Kahath, la famille des Kahathites;
58 These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, and the family of the Korahites. Kohath became the father of Amram.
de Merari, la famille des Merarites. Voici les familles de Lévi: la famille des Libnites, la famille des Hébronites, la famille des Mahelites, la famille des Musites, la famille des Corahites. Et Kahath engendra Amram.
59 The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt. She bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
Et le nom de la femme d'Amram était Jochébed, fille de Lévi, laquelle naquit à Lévi en Egypte; et elle enfanta à Amram Aaron et Moïse et Marie, leur sœur.
60 To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
Et à Aaron naquirent Nadab et Abihu, Eléazar et Ithamar.
61 Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before the LORD.
Et Nadab et Abihu moururent lorsqu'ils présentèrent devant l'Éternel un feu étranger.
62 Those who were counted of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward; for they were not counted amongst the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them amongst the children of Israel.
Et leurs hommes enregistrés étaient au nombre de vingt-trois mille, tous mâles, d'un mois et au-dessus; car ils ne furent pas compris dans le recensement des enfants d'Israël, parce qu'il ne leur fut adjugé aucune propriété parmi les enfants d'Israël.
63 These are those who were counted by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who counted the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
Tels sont les hommes recensés par Moïse et le Prêtre Eléazar qui recensèrent les enfants d'Israël dans les plaines de Moab sur le Jourdain de Jéricho.
64 But amongst these there was not a man of them who were counted by Moses and Aaron the priest, who counted the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
Et parmi eux il ne se trouvait plus aucun des hommes recensés par Moïse et le Prêtre Aaron, lors du recensement fait des enfants d'Israël dans le désert de Sinaï.
65 For the LORD had said of them, “They shall surely die in the wilderness.” There was not a man left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
Car l'Éternel avait, dit d'eux: Ils mourront, mourront dans le désert, et il n'en survivra pas un, sinon Caleb, fils de Jephunné, et Josué, fils de Nun.
